I wonder what pieces of armor he is all wearing. Looks like at least helmet, chest, shoulders. Probably missing leggings/pants.

I *think* they aren't doing leggings, anymore, even though there was a slot for it in the first GUI's shown. I believe the most recent cut it out. I have to get to work, though, so maybe someone else can help you out with a pic of the latest equipment GUI/news.

I really like the helmet. Too much grass for my liking though

I never heard that they were taking out leggings. Any idea why?

Yes, we still have pants. That would be silly to vanquish demons in our underwear. So I assume that the leg bracers are part of the pants graphics. The better question is what does the look like with shoes on ?

Has there been a picture of the Witch Doctor with boots or any sort of shoe like item on? I can only recall him bare foot.

I wonder if boots all have an alternative image for him where they look like little ankle braclets/coverings/armor.

Refreshing indeed to get some pictures! It's funny how this tiny picture is such a huge thing now, and when Blizzcon hits it'll be nothing. Blizzard really knows how to hype stuff up with minimal amount of "resources".

Hm.. yea interesting point.. Could very well be that they will do that. If they are going for a bare foot witch doctor. It does seem a little bit strange though, even though it fits with the image of a with doctor it's not very practical. Maybe boots just isn't included in the set that they show off here.

Well the helm looks badass.. I can't say the same for the rest of the set.
Let's hope it looks better from a higher camera view.

I think the same thing could be said about the lower level in all games. If you look at other Blizzard games that feature armor like Diablo 2 and WoW, you would say that the lower level armor looks really bland and unimaginative.

I would actually be kind of upset if I was wearing things that looked really awesome at level 10-20. I think it's very important that items start out looking very normal and then gain size, color, graphics, etc. as they become more powerful and higher in level.

That's my opinion at least.

I would however be VERY upset if this was the Witch Doctor's high end set. That would be a pretty big let down.

he does wear "pants". they're more... Witch Doctor like pants. pieces of cloth held together with some strings (no i'm not talking about his underwear - ew).

More realistic sets like this is all I want. Fuck wow's outofthisworld gigantic shoulderpads with balls of light all over them.

i like both pictures. but truely i think the environment of diablo 3 will also play a factor on visibility of the character. if you were to put the darker bloodied one in a diablo 3 environment, i dont think it would look as good.

this exactly.
environment plays a major part to how you'll see your character. darker environment with darker colored characters and darker colored monsters (as quite a few have been suggesting since the announcement) equals to seeing nothing and enjoying even less.

I thought I recalled not seeing them anymore in favor of regression to Diablo II days without pants as equipment. Oh well.

You won't be able to see like any of those changes when you're actually playing (though I guess you could just use PS to put that stuff on a game character, in which case I would say your PS-ed photo has no credence since you're mixing two entirely different art mediums- pictures and live 3D), and with the in-game lighting, I seriously doubt that that slight amount of tonal change is really going to make a difference. I think it looks fine as it is.
