Official Blizzard Quote:
Diablo: Every fire explosion the FX guys create is the best fire explosion we’ve ever had in the game. I think they’ve got a competition going.
As for the Wizard, they have no fire skills. They have Arcane, Lightning, and Cold, but as of now we've yet to see any fire skills used by the Wizard. I highly doubt the Barbarian will have many explosive skills, however the Monk may have a couple up his sleeves.
Now, if the FX team is doing so much work on flaming explosions, we have to ask, where are these going to fit in?
Of course, they could be doing work on skills used by monsters (remember the Catapult back in Lord of Destruction?), or perhaps some traps. However, my money is on this becoming a significant part of the fifth class. Right now, the majority of people speculate the fifth class to be some form of ranged class. Thus, if we look back upon Diablo II, we already have a ranged class who used fire, being the Amazon. She even had a skill called Exploding Arrow, which was followed by Immolation Arrow, both ranged fire skills that featured an explosive animation.
Now, I'm not suggesting they're going to recycle the skills from the Amazon, but right now, I would put money on the fifth class featuring some wicked looking explosions.
wrong. if you dont feel the forum is doing anything constructive, just leave it alone. some are trying to find things of some interest and dont need a douchebag that thinks knows everything and doesnt do anything useful in there.
I hope they don't lose their heads with explosion and effects.
maybe they mean these kind of explosions :mage:
Man, sorta makes me want the old 'corpse explosion' skill back, with bodies really exploding in awesomely random and unique ways
Shucks, so you'd rather us leave the news page blank and just wait until some hardcore posts come our way?
We have to make due with what we have, be it constructive or funny. If you don't approve, then just don't read the shit, it's not hard.
Don't be one of those people who posts in a thread to tell people they're not going to post in the thread.
Are you guys fucking done or something?
trolling.
OT: Nothing essential is going to be dropped before Blizzcon, and there hasn't been much noise about D3 at all until just recently. Why not try to make something out of it and get people busy and active on and around the forums? You're pissing on the admins and anyone trying to have fun and speculate what things mean. Shit, you're even worse than me. Lighten up or GTFO!
They are most likely not making a fire- or explosion-based class, although whatever the 5th class might be it could have some explosive abilities. Still, I think they're working on general explosions, such as barrels blowing up, walls giving in for peculiar reasons (enviromental, sweet!), bad guys throwing explosive potions/molotovs/whatever, Tim the Enchanter pointing his finger around and about, flame-breath monsters/bosses, some Meteor/cataclysmic event (Sanctuary come to some sort of end or revisiting a hell of some sorts).. yeah..
Was just speculating that due to the (suggested) large amounts of work on fire explosions, that this may be going towards some facet of the fifth class. I took that route because if they're devoting a lot of effort to fire explosions, obviously they aren't going to be a stumble upon thing you only see once throughout the game, they're probably going to be repetitive explosions you see quite often. Else, the FX team would not be working on such a variety of them.
Plus, no other class thus far has a large fire skill tree, thus, I'd say it's a safe bet to assume the next class will have a skill tree devoted to fire.
add a fire arrow and fire explosion trap for the fifth class and then its all about trapped chests and environmental explosions
still enough explosions to go around, no?
