Blizzard recently updated Diablo3.com with a few new screenshots. It appears to be a few new ones featuring Act II locations and the characters dealing out their skills on their enemies, as well as an updated blood texture that departs from the vibrant monochrome of old (see left).http://diablofans.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=55&pictureid=916&thumb=1
Could these serpentine poker-wielders be the revamps of the Claw Vipers of Diablo II and Diablo I (see right)? The Witch Doctor's pyrotechnics even seem more appealing for some reason, as does his body animation, or maybe we're just reading too much in to these images. A quick view of a cached version of the gallery reveals as many as twelve of the images are new, so go and see for yourself by checking out the rest in the screenshot gallery on the official website. Thanks to snillum101 for the heads-up!

meh... is not the same if it's just a screenshot...
In 102 looks like the barb is using some kind of chain lightning effect, wonder if that is from a weapon or a rune?
101, that's just friggin awesome, I really love how they are giving perspective, I can just imagine hordes of enemies pouring over a cliff to come after you
100 did the wraiths get an update?? The one on the left looks a lot more detailed and like a skeleton
Things are starting to look a lot more fleshed out in act II to me. Looks like they are starting to get into the fine details, a lot more shadow/depth
I like picture 101, because it shows creatures crawling on the rocks close(as dunhac82 points out) to the screen, like they're getting ready to jump on the character. That adds another element to the game.
Just look at that slate rock and the sandy tomb. Notice how the sand on the stairs is pushed to the sides - the attention to detail
And the blood... I love the art direction of this game
Would rather have them not be so awsome:O
The only thing I didn't like was the wheelbarrel in one of the town pictures, it was too intact, it should of been in a semi-broken state.
And I absolutely love the death animations of the skeletons in Picture 102, you can see their souls floating up and being banished back to hell. Classic D2 stuff.
I think the Blood is a little too splashy, but that's just my opinion. Never thought slashing a guy would create a pool of blood with a 10 meter square radius.
The skill effects on the other hand really look sharp.
PS: I am psyched about the return of squishable insects (scorpions) from Pic 101!
I'm in real love for those monsters ! The ones from 101 and the snakes from 105 looks great.
Very cool eye candy. I'm glad
I will try my best to not have any sarcasm in this post, and given what you just said, that's not an easy thing for me to do.
1) Yes, both Art and Style have everything to do with the details.
2) Yes, Art and Style have also something to do with the colour palette, amongst many other things. (You got that part right)
3) I'm an interior designer, so I can safely assume that I slightly know something about art and style. Doesn't take a game designer, or a genius for that matters.
4) I think you not only lack the english to tell me, but also the general knowledge of Art as a whole. If you can honestly say that Art has nothing to do with the details they put in it, then every painter/sculpter/Musician/designer, etc.. must be out of their bloody minds, and you being the only sane one.
