The Chat Gem Lives!
With that in mind, just a little bit about me, i've been an avid Blizzard fan since the ripe age of 5 years old, starting with Diablo 1, back in 1995. Since then, I've been doing things to help Blizzard in more ways than one. For about 5 years now, I've been posting on the Technical Support Forums, offering assistance to users who were experiencing technical issues. I was invited to the honorary Blizzard Friends List because of it, and I have been in several of the Alpha's as well. I have also been given tributes in World of Warcraft with the Sixen's Skullcap item and given a page in the Death Knights of Acherus in-game book. Also worth mentioning, i've been staff at sc2pod for a while now.
On a less serious note, i'm a pretty laid back guy. I believe i'm fair, I believe i'll be able to run things pretty smoothly around here. I'm 19, i'm currently attending Arizona State University, and I drive a Celestial Blue Mazda3 (I need to take a new pic, I know). Oh yeah, and I like long walks along the beach... Kidding, I do have a girlfriend though. (Who happens to have played Diablo before and plays Diablo with me occasionally. Yeah, she's awesome.)
Welcome to the age of the Chat Gem!
I would consider being apart of your staff, you seem to be an outstanding guy!
Ive been with these forums for a couple years, this is my second account because the DFans changed their layout, and I had unique characters in my last name that I now cannot spell, due to the site configurations.
I mostly just read what others have to say, and when I see something interesting I comment with enthusiasm.
Good to meet you Sixen, we of Diablo Fans welcome you!
Congratulations on your status!
I do look forward to talkin with ya, and learnin what all you have accomplished.
Im only 23, and your hitting 19! You've accomplished a lot for your age!
Respect Sixen, thats fantastic.
Im a senior here in Oklahoma, been goin to OU and what not.
Agian, welcome and congratulations!
Cheers

I haven't actually posted anything in the past two or three months, but I've been a member for over 2 years I think? and a lurker for much longer. I thought it was enough of a special occasion to log back in.
I hope to go to FSU or UCF and get enter a program to get my masters in CS in 5 years.
One suggestion I have is to post more news in the front page, if I don't see any new information or news, I don't really go to the forums. For the past few months, the forums have kind of been dead. By posting more news on the front page, i guarantee that you will get more traffic on the site. The type of news you could post might be news from other game companies, and interesting games to look out for while waiting for Diablo. Just a side note, to differentiate between actual Diablo News and "other" news, it would be better if you change the headline's color.
I hope this way there would be more to discuss and to compare to Diablo III.
Good luck on running the site, and I'd hope to play you when the game comes out.
Welcome and Congrats
It must be because this is an Internet forum... I think we have a high percentage of people here studying computer related fields. Myself included
Thank you, sir! I'll keep you in mind in regards to Staff. Also, shoot me a PM with your old username, perhaps there is something I can do about it.
Orrrrrr, it could be because this is a forum for an online computer game. There are different people that play these games. There are those who play computer games - they could be casual or hardcore. People who play online computer games, and then visit the forums are usually a little more hard core and are interested in every detail of a game; they also like talking to other people that like the game. Then there are the people like me, (and those worse than me) who play the game religiously, and then when they aren't eating, sleeping, or playing the game, they are on the forum discussing the game!
On a side note, most of those people eat while playing, and avoid sleeping to play...lol
There was a thread started by someone that asked what type of Major or studies you were going through. Most of the responses included Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, and other sciences and computer related Majors.
Its not that only nerds play these games (im not a complete nerd), but it takes a different type of person to go on forums a lot... but hey, if it weren't for diablo, I probably never would've touched a computer game!!
GL With computer science, I started off my college career as computer engineering (CS + a lot of math lol), I hated programing and math so I've switched to Computer Information Systems - Network Design. My first diablo experience was Diablo in 1999 I believe. I know that D2 was out by then but I wanted to play Diablo first and then once I beat that I went out and got D2 just about a year or so before D2:LOD came out. Played through LOD I don't know HOW many times and I still play it occasionally.
BTW are you a Cardinals fan?
Thanks, =). And Cardinals... Er... Whoever is a Cardinals fan, I have to feel sorry for... I lived in the East Coast (NY/NJ) for most of my life, still a fan of the Yankees (then Mets), and Giants (then Jets), ;). Of course, I have to root for the ever-so-terrible Nets as well.
Then again, I started rooting for the Cardinals and Suns when they played, just because i'm an Arizonian now, haha.
I feel bad that I'm connected to the Florida Dolphins..ahhh
I feel bad for you too......^_^
j/k!
I follow college football mostly...idk
Hey man don't feel bad for rooting for the cards, I live just outside of Washington D.C. and the Skins are my team! It's a sad sad year here in D.C.
lol, first of all, i meant Miami Dolphins. If you watch college football than its even worse. Florida State University (FSU)..
Well let me know you what you have in store for this site and i will help you make it happen. Glad to have you on the team!
