Please note that he also said explicitly that it is not a guarantee! Don't get your hopes too high yet, folks! It's coming along. We're still in the process of refining and testing the changes going into the patch. Work is progressing, we haven't stopped working on it or anything like that.
As far as information of what's being changed in the patch, almost anything we're working on now could be removed. Testing could deem any change unworkable and we'd have to remove it. By releasing any information on possible changes we'd be raising expectations that the change is guaranteed to make it in, no matter how many disclaimers we place on it. That said, one change we're planning is to increase the stash size to 12x10. As I said it is in no way a guaranteed change. Any number of reasons could mean it will not make it into the final patch. But enjoy the breadcrumb maybe?
Thoughts? Comments? I'd love more inventory space, personally. Cuts down on mules
(On a side note, I think it would be a good gesture for everyone to add some rep to sssupply for finding this tidbit first!)
thanks, Magistrate
1) Bigger stash then the extra bit u all missed
2) Since the stash is bigger this means it will cover more screen space, which means you need higher resolution, since you need to have your inventory open to move things into it, right?
3) This one is a maybe since it is also based off my #2 answer about higher resolution. Since the resolution is increased, the room on screen for the inventory is also larger, perhaps increased inventory too.
Or if not a higher resolution, everything is abit smaller, i don't know.
These are just my thoughts... What do you guys think?
1.) Bigger stash yeah we know that now but its still not 100% going to be in the patch. Though mods for diablo 2 have done it they could verywell see/use what they did.
2.) that being said in 1 they don't necessarily mean its going to increase the res. But in all honestly, again, there was a mod that made teh screen res bigger. If a fan can do most of these changes already blizzard could improve and make them better and do it for sure
3.) they won't increase the size of the inventory because then you could use more charms and that would just make more characters more OP then they already are.
Though I think it'd be wonderful if they actually rendered out the 3d assets at a higher res and offered it as an option. It'd make a massive difference to how the game looks; it'd look freaking awesome and not poopy at all.
Your character, in-game, could look like this. Now tell me, is that not the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?
Heck, one change I'd super love is.... if they'd put the waypoints at the start of the zone they way-in. I'm very very sick of playing Where's Waldo with those things. I just want to live, but not live like an animal..
Well not always do you gotta use plugy to increase the stash size. there is a way to do it just based off of the text files iirc. so I think getting 12x10 would still be possible.
Not sure if they would do that because it would make the isometric view all weird looking imo.
But I was looking around some Specific sites..not going to mention them here.. and was looking at the high res mod they people are using and there are some issues that only dawned on me now
when you make it a huge res like 1600x1400 [ not a real res as i cant think of the exact numbers atm] or bigger you will see more then what the game allows you to see at one time. farcast for an example you would know what I am talking about.
plus things like the menu was chopped up and between each item there was nothing. So if blizzard did release a high res. some game mechanics would have to change. such as the ability to see bigger distances.
I feel you on the whole bigger res. Though personally if they were to make it bigger I would like they to support in the 1900x what ever resolution. but again like I brought up before it causes problems with areas for the characters where we are not usually able to see that far.
Those were only the initial 3D renders of the characters. They then took a bunch of low-res pictures of the 3D model in various poses (running, walking, turning, casting in every direction) and turned them in to animations. (So, there aren't any true 3D characters in the game- it's been referred to as "2.5D" by some.) A higher screen resolution would not make them look better- only more blocky by contrast or really, really small.
that is actually what I expect for D3..A whole page with squares. Each square has an item.. (just make the squares big so you don't have to hover the mouse over it.
The backdrops also use a higher bitrate. For observers who want to see more of the pretty. The wolves are so adorably goofy looking.
Larger STASH not inventory.
10x12 inventory means like 40 gcs LOL
If that is what it means, can't they just demote the characters to non-ladder characters? (we don't even care about the rankings)
A larger stash would be nice though, but not losing our characters.
that's what happens, no worries.
however, if you want any ladder only items now is the time to make or trade for them
having 2 mercs at one time would be very cool..
Personally Id love to see an optin to choose which merc you want to use out of all the ones you have purchased(tho 99% of the time ppl just buy holy freeze aura merc lol)
i think its funny how hellfire had a transfer system to fix the problem but they never considered it in diablo 2 xD
it wasnt all that grand but it was at least something lol
Yeah, okay. I'm definitely not familiar with Blizzard. I definitely haven't played all their games. I definitely haven't waited for all their games. I know how it goes, I don't need you sitting there spewing fanboy flame at me because I insinuated something negative about all-mighty Blizzard. Last thing I need is someone like yourself talking down to me. Get over yourself.
