Forced leveling? I'll just have to go along with what other people think that means. If forced leveling means a requirement to move through the game, such as "level 10 is required to move to Act II" etc. then no, there are no current plans to put level requirements on progressing through the game.
As far as I'm aware it's hasn't been mentioned by a Blizzard employee as being potentially included in Diablo III, but I could very well be mistaken.
So this level requirement business is usually discussed as a solution to 'glitch rushing' or a way of quickly leveling a character through use of bugs and loopholes. The assumption that these bugs and loopholes will exist in Diablo III in the first place is somewhat of a stretch of logic (maybe not as much as I'd like ;). So, the most obvious and popular solution is a level requirement. And yeah, it could work, but unless you can normalize XP gains you're probably fairly often going to be simply holding people back for no good reason. They've completed the act legitimately, but they're a single level shy of the requirement. Now they have to go grind for no reason other than to level so they can continue playing the game. It's not a very graceful solution. No, but there are solutions... nay, improvements! in how progression through the game can be handled. Ones that offer not only regulations on progression, but enhance the game itself.
I know it's a similar system to D2, except that a lowbie won't be able to level every 30 seconds in Chaos Sanctuary with this method. That would essentially stop people from rushing altogether.
A level 1 character should not be able to join and game and kill the last boss.
I think nothing of a similar function in World of Warcraft. A level 1 toon should not be able to join a 10 or 25 man Naxxramas run.
In diablo 2 you got the most experience from things no more than 5 levels above or below your level. At level 10 than means you get the best EXP from monsters ranging from level 5 to level 15. Any lower, and no EXP any higher, little to no EXP.
I really do like that sort of thing, or rather I tend rather not to obsess over it I should say, I love questing. Yes I actually do, as long as they aren't aplethora of go here and bring back x amounts of y from z amounts of mobs, that gets very boring. But the quests with huge scale story and some good items, yeah I will gladly grind those out to met a level requirement of an area, whether it says there is one or not.
Creatures in the first area of Outlands in WOW are level 58-62. Knowing that there is no way I am going to try and fight them at level 40. I might consider doing it at say 56 or 57. But I am fine with Blizzard saying I have to be 58, at least for using the Dark Portal. I could get a mage to summon a portal and get me to outlands and void the level restricting portal. Course the quests are level restricted so I can't do much.
But since creature 5 levels above you always hit with crushing blow that does insane amounts of damage if your not a high enough level, I am content to level up to 58 so I can progress.
But hey, that might just be me.
Well this was in place before LOD came around. They included some sort of bonus exp for partying in LOD that messed up the perfect system. They wanted us to go out in 8 player ZERGFEST parties to some Area X (when it was bloody, cows or baal or CS) and zerg the monsters down in no time and then create a new game to that same area..
-Before LOD, you got best exp when you were solo (thats why barbarians was on top a lot, they rocked soloing).
-If you partied, you got less exp.. it was logical. 2 people party needed to do half the work as 1 player.
-If you were in a very high area as low level, you got quite low exp.
-If you were in a party with a player 10 levels higher than you, you got nearly no exp since it was already halved for being in party + the higher lvl player took most of the exp.
This system was perfect and I liked it a lot more than the current 8 player zergfest where you don't even socialize with the partymembers.. only a few words are being said during the runs (bo, hot, safe, ng).
Before LOD party playing wasn't so popular yeah.. but there was still a lot of parties going on. It was safer in HC at least to clear CS with 2 player party than solo and some combos like necro+sorc and ama+pala were more efficient to clear CS in party than solo.
sigh, i never said anything about bots or dupes or hacks... ebaying items dosent always lead to that. look at wow, people work there way to get chars and items and sell them. if you really want to buy them go ahead, the items and char are going to be on the realm anyway
people do the hard and argus task of creating a bot, they should be able to be successful in using it by ur logic... and if items are on ebay, whats the difference if people buy them with real money or ingame items.. they will be on the realm anyway, assuming there are no dupes.
the bot situation... its like you are oblivious to any gaming that goes on anywhere. people hack and use bots no matter what. think about this, your sitting in traffic and one guy flys by you on the shoulder.... who cares he'll prob get pulled over. its the same situation with the bots. their cd keys are on the line, they are taking the risk they reap the rewards.
I dont support it, i just dont care what others do
You support bots which is illegal.
i dont support it, i just dont care and you shouldnt either
You support people using money to gain advantages in a game that is supposed to be fair to everyone, rich or poor.
why is it supposed to be fair? not everything in life is fair
You support that real life money should be more valuable than experience and skills in a game like Diablo.
some people have more fun bying items and killing noobs like u. btw money is more important then any video game experience....
You support that people shouldn't have to do anything to get better than people that have worked for a month to get good. Not anything...
they worked for there money, while u sat behind a cpu screen
You support hacking and altering for your own gain. Which in some cases can get you years in prison.
i used a helper for hc thats about it. and i dont support it i just dont care.
You support breaking the laws if you are aware of the risks and the consequences.
yes, if you know the consequences and you break the law willingly, touche.
You log into your account, you find a game and decides to join it. You play on and just destroyed the soulstone at the hellforge. A hacker enters the game and freezes it! The hacker, which uses speedhack and a bot, quickly gets to you and kills you, then steals the highrune that dropped. You join another game and tries to talk, no response. Everyone is on bots, noone is playing the game. You can't walk out of the town without having a hack detecting you and a bot killing you. Trading is impossible because all items are duped and disappears. You can't kill a boss without having a ninja bot taking everything. You can't duel without having a PvP bot killing you. You decide to be as illegal as everyone else and goes to buy an item from the internet, but the site isn't selling anymore. Everyone is using bots so buying items is unnecessary. And why even have items when your fantastic dupe and power/speed hacks can get you everything you want. Diablo has become a sandbox games with no rules, no limitations, no active players. It is not a game anymore, it is a place for people to try hacks and let bots walk around for nothing.
im sorry that you just suck at the game........... and nothing like that has ever happend fool.
heres a hint, dont play nl thats where all the hacking goes on. play hadcore ladder, you dont see many hacks except pk.................... and you play by urself as i read in other threads anyway
And buying items from various sites doesn't require effort. If you have money for food and living, you will have enough money to buy items since they are laughably cheap.
Botting items equals mass-producing items and giving them away for free to anyone in the game who wants them (since real world money has absolutely no impact what so ever on the game economy, and its influence is void). Buying botted items, or trading for something that has been purchased from an item selling site is entirely different from obtaining items that were originally gathered through gaming effort and sportsmanship.
If you fail to agree with what I just said and attempt any sort of a counter-argument, you are completely insensible and/or a stupid troll.
just stop being so gullable, everyone hacks and its just a fucking game. deal with it
2E - Third-Party Programs for Blizzard Games
Due to our close ties with and deep respect for Blizzard Entertainment, all discussion of programs or codes used to hack or unfairly alter gameplay of Blizzard titles is absolutely not allowed. Mods not used for unfair gain within the game (Eastern Sun Mod, etc) are perfectly acceptable.
except when this happens and some go get rushed and buy stuff and some dont.. how does pvp work? pvp is obviously a huge part of the game. yea if you want to pvp you can choose to get rushed and buy items but what if you A. dont want to B. dont have the money C. dont have the friends for a rush, how do you compete and have fun against ppl that got immediately rushed to 80 and spent X dollars on ALL the best gear. (LOOOOTS of people buy items) you cant? in order to do that legit you would have to play for years and years and years just to A. beat the game B. get to lvl 80 or higher and the biggest one C. find all the runes you would need to make your items. They need to find something to make everyone work and do the same thing.
i really dont agree with lvl restrictions to do things like he said goin back for a few lvls every time would be hell especially cause every class isnt goin to be equal at the same lvl a lvl 20 sorc isnt as strong as a lvl 20 barb etc.. therefor if you had to be lvl 20 to get to act 2 either A. a "barb" would be strong enough at lvl 16 have to wait till lvl 20 or B. a "sorc" would be lvl 20 but not strong enough to continue alone till 24 or whatever.. just an example but you see what i mean
Bashiok stated that the idea has not even been brought up yet, so probably won't even happen
NO im dead sure they will keep single player there, it would probably cause another petetion if they where to take it out.
Im sure its there
lol, really i loled when i read that
