"Booyah! is a company that was formed last year by former members of the Diablo III team, who parted ways with Blizzard soon after the game was officially announced. When I say former members, I'm not talking about the guy who ran out for coffee. Booyah! CEO Keith Lee was the game's lead producer. The chief creative officer is none other than Captain Unicorns and Rainbows, Brian Morrisroe, Diablo III's first art director; and the chief technical officer is Sam Christiansen, a senior programmer on the game."
The story then goes on to talk about their departure from Blizzard:
"As for their ties with Blizzard, Lee assures me that the leaving was extremely amicable. Indeed, Blizzard's Rob Pardo is on their board of advisors, so it seems that yet another major player believes in what Booyah! is trying to accomplish."
Not much is known about the games they're going to be producing, but there is a beta sign-up page on their site in case you want to be among the first to try out their games.
So are any of you iPhone users interested in checking out what these former Diablo 3 developers have up their sleeves? Anybody have any guesses as to what they could be working on?"Booyah is creating a playful life companion that combines the immersive experiences that draw consumers to massively multi-player online games, the interconnectedness of social media, and the power of the iPhone and iPod touch."
ya they are from blizz north, at least keith lee is I believe.
bad memories
happy place, happy place, happy place . . .
Lol, even though I don't play WOW, I'm sick of
["hardcore"] diablo fans saying that WOW is the definition of a crappy game...
It doesn't look so "cartoony" like WOW, it's just in 3-d, and has a small "feel" of WOW mixed in it. It's graphics are very different...
also a lot of good ideas come from the game. D3 looks so fricking good that Wow will loose half of it's customers.. (including the fact that a big number of the D1, and D2 fans moved to Wow).
You only mock a game, if it has something to mock, like a bad mechanic, a crappy story, it has loads of glitches. But you don't blow off a whole game just because.......
Nope. 110% wrong. For starters, only 3 Blizzard North people of the over 50 with credits on Diablo II currently work in Irvine. And everything else in your post is total speculation which you won't find a single link to back up - and is actually contradicted by what we have read by people who were there, like Mike Huang who wrote a little bit about it on his blog. You somehow also managed to get another 3 or 4 things wrong in that post, which is impressive.
hey, i was just trying to get the story straight in my head, i guess i was wrong. im ok with that lol, you didn't have to put it so harsh tho didja (w/e). Anyways, i am not saying that D3 is looking too wow'ish, that would be an overstatement, honestly i think there doing a good job and i can't wait till it come out. . .when im like 30. . .
lol i cant see the iphone having a good game like that
but maybe if they made their own version of something like an iphone meant more for gaming
and made it more control friendly i think thatd be awesome
blizzard really doesnt make a lot of money btw if they just got bought last year xD
but they did get bought by a bigger company =3
which i dont know what they spending that money on to begin with probaly go to the strip clubs every day xD
or just upgrade their tools so they can continue to make the best games
either way blizzard is a small company
their games are just so good you couldnt believe it
so if their goal is to make a fun game for iphone to make more money than they may have in blizzard or just to make money to begin with i think they would have enough talent to pull it off
Working for blizzard might be a hell hole, for all we know..
I sure hope not, because I hope to work there in my lifetime.
Maybe they wanted to try something new. Or they wanted more money; they are probably getting plenty..I might get an iphone soon (not because of that, but because it is a really cool phone) the only problem is, is that there isn't any insurance because people unlock it and sell it in Israel, and Russia..
I thought they made a partnership, they weren't bought??? were they??
Also, the iphone is amazing for a phone..
Sorry, I've just had to beat that story down so many times here and on other forums. The thread almost always gets shut, maybe the truth is too depressing for some fanboys.
