Discuss what you think about this new Blizzcast which is supposed to be almost exclusively about Diablo 3.
Here are the four new Diablo 3 images that were included with BlizzCast 8 which primarily showcase the inventory system:
I (mockery) particularly like the little details, such as the difference in the stitching around the borders depending on whether you have a bag or a burlap sack selected. The inventory system as a whole looks really sharp if you ask me. What do you think about it?
(Thanks to Lord Petrov.)
Sure, the tabbed inventory is going to take 30 seconds to get used to, but outside of that, why the bitching?
With statues aside, because blizzard won't change something like lighting or design doesn't make them uncaring. It just means they won't wash the board because people don't care for it.
It isn't minor problem but it won't change. Diablo fans tried everything to make Blizzard change its direction but in the end art direction stayed.
Also, what's the bitching about teal colors in relation to dark blue? Are you talking about the item color? (new item being teal). Because if you are, please leave. That's utterly retarded.
As much as I agree with you, I can only say you're fighting a losing battle. Those that bitch about the art style as fervently as these fanboys do are extremely passionate and consequently extremely loud about their opinions. I respect their opinions, but their reasoning behind it puts my patience at a fine thread.
I am personally ecstatic about the game and I'll palate pretty much anything they come up with.
On another note... I wonder if Diablo 3 will support UI mods...
1.) They changed those bloody damn lion statues
2.) Although I would prefer a total switch over to the old inventory style, the new one is pretty intuitive.
3.) They switched the equipment screen back to a more Diablo style, rather than WoW style.
4.) Although the Barb's fury system is similar to that of a WoW warrior, i think it will work well, provided that I always have enough of it to use my skills, when I want to use them.
5.) The little peek at what skill trees look like was pleasing, although now I imagine we will be trying to figure out which icons are what skill now.
Has anyone else noticed the lack of a Stamina bar anywhere? I wonder if we will just be able to run indefinitely this time around.
I've never really understood why people complain so much when they see something similar to another Blizzard game in a new game.
Blizzard has ALWAYS borrowed, and modified their own ideas for use in other games.
To be honest, wow's skill system is more like a modified version of Diablo 2's skill system, and the D3 one is yet again, a further modified version of the same deal.
Hell, the Blizzard spell is in what.....3 of their games? Doing the same thing each time pretty much.
I love the new names for the runes, make them more Diablo.
The item colors have been confirmed by Bashiok that Uniques won't be purple as the technical director said. Good news cause I also think that the Gold color is a classic. I understand that it was a problem for colorblindness. Myself, even if not color blind, I had myself some problem scanning between Rares and Uniques when I was on my old Monitor where I needed to boost the gamma. It was very annoying. So switch rare's color and keep unique gold, it's so epic!
Now what I think is not a good thing right now. I read alot about the skill trees and I saw alot of skills that were only upgrades. I compared Diablo 3 Trees with WoW Talent Trees. Some of the skills inside the tree are new unique skills, some are there to upgrade other skills. But I thought that few skills were given to the class at start or at a certain level nomatter which spec you are. But right now, I think I was wrong.
So here is my thought: Alright, we have runes to make spells customizable. But even there. If you take the Barbarian, right now there is 17 Active skills (where less than the half are attacks) in all 3 trees. This kind of tree setup invites the player to go the the bottom of one and stay at the top/middle of the 2 others. Which would mean like 9 active skills for each build. That is more than a D2 build, but D2 still had more possibility. The only problem in D2 was that they were'nt balanced to be all powerful. Runes will bring this in D3. But I already see website that show the best build for a Fury Barb. And some runes will be more useful in certain skills and everyone will head for the same build again...
Debate is okay, arguing is NOT. There IS a difference.
Thanks,
Daemaro
I like the flat character profile with equipment slots. Never cared for the 3d view of my character in the equipment screen, I can see my character fine in game. Good on them for leaving the vanity mirror to WoW. Maybe I'm just old school...
The overall information was rather sparse... still, the screens are fun.
