Discuss what you think about this new Blizzcast which is supposed to be almost exclusively about Diablo 3.
Here are the four new Diablo 3 images that were included with BlizzCast 8 which primarily showcase the inventory system:
I (mockery) particularly like the little details, such as the difference in the stitching around the borders depending on whether you have a bag or a burlap sack selected. The inventory system as a whole looks really sharp if you ask me. What do you think about it?
(Thanks to Lord Petrov.)
All a nice uplifting light grey instead of turd brown.
too wispy and thin, not as easy to read as the last 2 games.
Also, is the first letter of each major word bolded and capitalized?? i see some serious acronym abuse coming!
I think gems will change possibly and look more detailed, but they may not, I dunno they just look unfinished to me. <shrugs>
^^^I DON'T WANT THIS.
Keep D3 as it CURRENTLY is. As D1 and D2 were.
I'm very averse to them changing the unique color. I also liked the gold/bronze color for uniques and I find that changing it to purple detracts from that feel. Beyond that, I think using purple as the "best of the best" color in a gothic game is close to blasphemous. I really hope they rethink that decisions.....
I see another petition coming
But if you quickly flip between the 3 inventory screen shots, you'll notice that the position of the rage meter slightly changes. So either its an animated UI that extends as rage builds or it was simply changed between the time in which the screen shots were captured.
It would be cool if it was animated. I love the mixing of 2D and 3D elements.

"We wanted to make it very bright because it has to be clean and very visible so players can see them, we wanted to make it visible because there is so much carnage going on, we wanted to make it bright and clear because gameplay is the king, we wanted to make it visible so you can see that because you are colour blind, we wanted to make them clear so you can focus on the game, we wanted to remove light radius so you can see beautiful art, we wanted to make it purple so that you can tell rare and unique items apart, we wanted to make it clear .............................."
Does Blizzard think Diablo fans are stupid and blind?
In D1 we couldn't even see dropped items so players missed a lot of dropped items. We couldn't see enemy's health and sometimes could see only our character thanks to light radius so that we couldn't see the environment (also in D2). What happened then? Was gameplay broken? Wasn't it fun? OFC yes, they were a lot of fun.
But if you make everything very visible, clean and bright then it will loose the most important thing in Diablo games. FEELING ! Yeah gameplay isn't the king, it's the feeling. Gameplay comes 2nd. There must be invisible, unseen, unknown, missed, messy things in Diablo games. Not clear and very visible things.
So what's my last sentence?
I wanted to make it clear that D3 will fail if this direction stays.
And no, gameplay IS the king, and ALWAYS comes first. Then comes whatever else. And nothing is going to fail if your standards of what is the best colour scheme are not met.

Do they think Diablo fans can not seperate things in the game?

Edit: Polite way
With TQ we had multiple bags that we could do what we wanted with. Most split what the bags were used for (equipment, those rune stuffs, selling items) but if I needed some more selling room I could put an item in my rune bag or my equipment bag. Here, I don't see the choice. Seems too strict.
Also, I kind of laughed at the "Some people like tetris, some people don't. To make both groups happy we removed tetris altogether while giving people different bags that only fit certain kinds of items!" That just seems like it made those that don't like tetris happy and not both groups.
Indifferent to the system though.
I'm indifferent to the skill trees, although seeing some of those icons before is kind of... disheartening? I hope they're placeholders for something a bit different. Less IN YOUR FACE with the art.
I like the rage system.
But... I thought we were promised some sort of new info? I didn't get anything new out of it aside from the updated UI stuff. That's not that great =\. Was hoping for more info on where we would be adventuring or maybe something special about a new class... or something about that new type of item.
Nadda though.
I feel the same way about people, they keep nitpicking about little things without caring about how the game might play.
good point! even though i dont like the current font style, that is what, 1% of the game? this game looks better and better, each time i see it.
The fact that they changed the gargoyles on the staircase should be good news for anyone who is heavy into wanting a more scary feeling in Diablo 3. They're obviously listening.
Only thing I'm disappointed in is what Paladin said. I'd like to see every item have a different look. HOWEVER; it is very very early in the process and I think that by time the game is complete that every item will have it's own model variant on the character. It's important to remember how early it is right now. Just think, they've just now gotten the UI right (and they might edit it some more).
So, I'm happy so far.
And also, look at that screenshot with the hydra rune, and look at the game in the background. How is that NOT Diablo looking? The 'WoWish' people's complaints are sounding more and more absurd with each new update. (nobody in this thread has said that, but in general)
But, I think they're working well within their capabilities. Different people, different type of capabilities.
I bet you're gonna get flamed just for saying that
I agree with you to an extent. Diablo was about both feeling and gamplay/replayability. Different things attract me to games, and in life in particular.
They chose a more one-sided path in D3. For a reason they and perhaps you and I know.
I felt crushed and sickened in the stomach while playing D1 and D2. The same way I felt when playing Doom for instance or Planescape:Torment. It actually repulsed me and my young mind, but I played it just because of that. Feelings I had not experienced before. It is different with D3.
What I'm trying to say... it will never be the same. I see it as a personal slap in the face the way they're treating my game, trying to change my experience.
Everyone will buy it no matter what they do. Unfortunately.
But people on the team work hard and they work better in some areas, you can't deny them that.
I don't know...
I want a signed agreement.
You're so annoying...
haha yeah, if they took the took time to give monsters like what was it? 30 some different ways to die? they're going to take the time to make the armor at least have some variety on the character.
