Happy Holidays Diablo Fans!

On behalf of the staff here at Diablofans.com, I just wanted to say happy holidays to all of you. Hope you all have a great Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus or whatever it is that you happen to celebrate at this time o' the year! But before I get on with my own festivities...

It looks like we also have another nice little gift from Santa in the form of a nice 4-page interview with Jay Wilson over on 1UP. It includes some solid Diablo 3 info and a couple o' new screenshots to help tide you over during the holidays. Thanks to forum member popez for giving us a head's up about it! Click here to read the full interview.

On top of that, G4TV has posted a new video featuring interviews with Jay Wilson and some gameplay footage (thanks DiabloBarnes). Take a look!

I enjoyed the interview from 1up but generally thought that video with G4 was pretty meh, the footage of gameplay was great but all the information was pretty pointless :(

They need to release new media like a video soon.

    Happy Holidays to you too.

I've found that wishing people Happy Holidays rather then Merry Christmas/Merry Kwanzaa/Happy Hanukkah/Happy Winter Solstice/Merry Eid al-Adha/etc. Honestly, just easier to say Happy Holidays. You don't know what someone believes or is celebrating anyway, you could be insulting them.

When is it that NEW YORK is the voice of reason? Christmas Tree, Jewish Menorah, and Islamic Star and Crescent. Then the Catholic leader whines because he feel's Christianity isn't "included"... Wow... 'Tis the season...

Edit: Scratch that, the closest Islamic holiday is the Islamic New Year, Muharram, which lands on, this year, December the 29th. (As the Islamic calander isn't the same as the Julian one, the date of Muharram changes from year to year...

JW: When I started the project, I was a lot more fixated on what I wanted to keep. I really wanted to work on Diablo because I didn't want someone to take it and turn it into something else.
    Wow, that's just...hard to believe.

The combat model doesn't have a lot of depth in the previous games. It was very much a "one-skill spam" kind of game
He still thinks diablo2/lod's success was its pvm.

Maybe he didn't want someone to take the new diablo game and turn it into something else, but to me, that's exactly what he's doing.

(and no, I'm not complaining about arts, I just couldnt care less about the game looking like wc3).

The Witch Doctor's pets are more of a distraction -- they're his form of crowd control. They're very transient, they don't matter as much to him, and they aren't really a primary source of damage

Yeah, but so are necro's skeletons if you use some mixed BONES/summons builds.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

RELEASE DATE: Sometime after 2009... If they don't even have the fifth playable character designed yet, then they are far from done.

"His "fury resource" is designed to drive the player forward, like a Barbarian, because he's very tough and is a close-quarters combatant. He wants to move forward, because the mechanic is "I have a lot of fury, which helps me deliver a lot of damage, but I'm going to lose it just sitting around." It makes him very aggressive, which is what we wanted out of the character. So that was driven by [the concept of] how do we want this guy to play. Very aggressively, and hence we built this mechanic."

    Very interesting

    Happy holidays!
