Diablo 3 Scavenger

The Diablo 3 website has been updated with a new bestiary unit: The Scavenger. One of the Diablo 3 demonic creatures in Diablo 2 is hinted to have been a transformed version of the Scavenger. They attack as a group and are swift as seen in the screenshot.

The Scavenger is the creature inside the cage mentioned in the Dune Thresher tale. The hunter unleashed three of these Scavengers into the sand as bait for the Dune Thresher. They dug out of the Dune Thresher's stomach, before dying to the intestinal acid, effectively killing the Dune Thresher.

Sounds like you will need a few stamina potions to outrun these pestering menaces. eh?

The Diablo 3 website has also been updated with seven new screenshots

It doesn't take a genius to know that Diablo is supposed to be dark, creepy and gothic. *sigh*... Every time I use the word 'art' someone have to oppose what I say! It's like saying 'f*g' in a gay forum! Gosh... that's the last time I refer to that subject ever again... and yes, by something I mean showing that screen shot as well. Plus I completely agree with what you say, there's alot more than 'night time' to come.

Is it just me or does anyone else think of the head crabs from Half-life 1?...

Why were Half-life 1 head crabs announced so fervently?

About her skin color I think it's just the lighting caused by the lantern and the fire.

Well, pretty close at least. I didn't predict the burrowing part. I love the dark screenshots and the concept art is amazing.

they're just petition boys looking for a reason to whine. They look more like hyenas of a little smaller size than in reality. I liked the story they came up with to introduce them and also the new ability they learned. I sure missed them from Diablo 1 and i hope they wont be so easily knocked back as the leapers in Diablo 2, i hated having to find them after the first few hits...

Ther remind of of wolverines personally. You know, those furry things that you dont wanna pet. With a richer color coat.
Its a legitimate claim. No acid needed.

I wish they resembled theyre original icky emancipated origins, but oh well. At least they dont seem to glow in the dark.

If you zoom up on the screenshots you can see the scavengers have little spikes along their spines and arms. I think if they made these big enough to be seen clearly it would help alot in improving the look of the scavengers.

You sure those are not frogs in the screen shot ? What if they were black horned 7 feet tall demons with pick axes, now that would look addicting to kill.

no hard feeling but they look kinda lame in the gameplay pictures.. specially with that lil brown line across their back. i know its the hair but it looks too....... too...................

Better a "petition boy" looking for things to "whine" about in order to get them improved and fixed, than a blind fan boy sucking at every bit of trash that is thrown at them.

If you do not think that there is a huge discrepancy btw artwork and in game pic of the scavenger then I suggest that you go get your eyes fixed.

Seriously, "Fanboys" are killing whatever good part that is left of the video game industry with their praise for every single piece of crap that is vomited out by developers. :mad:

This isn't a petition debate thread to attack each other for personal views. It's a topic on the new creature. If you like it say what you like about it, if you don't say you don't. Let's not run off into the petition/art debate arguments.

Look on the other picture, I think you can see it better... actually, I just realised from the concept art it is in fact fur. They should still put a few protruding horns along its spine and make the horns on its arms more noticeable. Because they're small four-legged creatures and they don't look as boney or weird as in Diablo I they need more dangerous-looking parts because they kind of remind me of dogs or furry animals, which is not as scarey as a ambushing, fanatical flesh-borrowing horned demonspawn hound.
