His vitriolic words are aimed towards those with 'unreasonable' complaints against Diablo 3's art direction, and each of the player complaints are addressed one by one in the video.
I never really understood why blizzard would be motivated to change they're art direction any ways. All you haters love to bring up your petition with the 52,000 signatures. But blizzard knows and so do you that 99.9% of those who signed the petition will buy D3 no matter what.
I know three things.
1. Blizzards rich.
2. Blizzards gonna stay rich.
3. D3 will be a good game.
the art direction is not bad, it just doesn't fit diablo at all, if we didn't know that diablo 3 was being made and we looked at that barbarian woman screenshot, we would never think that it's diablo 3, we would think it's from a new WOW game or something, but not diablo.
and blizzard is not changing the graphics because they already made most of the game using WOW ideas and WOW looking graphics, they said it themselves that diablo 3 is very influenced by WOW, and WOW makes money so if they take some things from WOW they are hoping to attrack WOW players too and hope it will be almost as big as WOW...all of us diablo fans will buy diablo 3, even if we like it or not just to see how it is.
Blizzard north really didn't think diablo would make a lot of money, they just made a great game (even with its few flaws it was still great) without thinking about making a lot of money, but this is not blizzard's case anymore, I remember when they listened to their fans and made games because they wanted to make great games, not because they wanted to make money.
there are way to many blizzard fans that think they can't do anything wrong, that they are game making gods or something and trust blizzard completely, I don't really think blizzard has made any good games besides diablo and diablo 2 (exp not included), WOW is total crap and played by losers and little kids. I remember playing diablo 1 and having the crap scared out of me, I was actually afraid to go in a fight the monsters and I'm sure a lot of you got at least chills playing diablo 1 and it wasn't only scary, but it wa salso fun and it took skill and thinking, but diablo 3 has lost the "diablo" heart and doesn't really feel like diablo anymore, diablo 1 had crap graphics, but at least they did what they were meant to do, inmerse you in the game and scare you.
It sucks that the graphics look colorful and too soft and have no texture or defenition at all, like most people say, they look like paintings, if I wanna look at a painting then I go to a museum, but I don't wanna kill a zombie that doesn't look like a zombie or walk through a monster infected section that doesn't look scary, graphics might not play an important part in most games, but they do in diablo, and I too like vegas don't play many games and carefully choose which ones to play because I don't have much time to play games and I rather use it playing a great game than just random other not so good games
blizzard's arguments about the gaem are not substantial either, it's all bull because they just DON'T wanna change the graphics and want to appeal to as many people as possible, thus they are aiming for a non mature rating too :/

Lol, with all the crazy rumors going on around here during last June/July everyone would have jumped on those screenshots yelling like madnuts DIABLO 3

TBH the game doesn't have the WoW feeling, the screenshots don't make D3 justice watch the videos again and go visit diablo3.com another time.

YAWN, look Diablo 3 is going to be Diablo 3 and that's it. You don't know yet if you'll get that Diablo 1 chill at some during the game and it's certainly not going to feel like this during the whole for the simple reason that their showing more of the Diablo universe and sometimes there's more to Diablo than ruthless evil. As for the mature raiting, they said they wouldn't want to have an european mature rating so that means what it means...
ld006 I think you’ve made clearer the points than I could, I’ve had little success here. For some reason my views are taken as attacks on D3 or just negativity. You are exactly right the first Diablo had a down right grim eerie forbidding feeling to it which made it so gripping to play, what is wrong with wanting that feeling preserved in D3?
The fact you could barely move fast enough to get away from a hoard of monsters really sent anxiety chills up your spine (not that I want to be forced to slow walk everywhere again LOL!). In D1 you felt really lucky to get out of the Dungeon alive, careful on every corner and area afraid you would get overwhelmed at any moment by an onslaught of creatures some almost as powerful as you were.
D2 you felt a little braver but still there were places that gave you that feeling of oh crap I need to get out of here. I turned my wife onto D2, she hates spiders in real life, she literally jumped out of the chair and ran into the other room in the Monastery’s jail when she came across her first spider. I had to take over her character to keep her from dying.
D3 appears power, more power, and rage filled power is the name of the game. Despite all the reasons given here for the new look from those who love D3’s art none have been able to explain where all the light is coming from in the forgotten tomb opening scene intro’ing the barbarian. It’s supposed to be a tomb but it didn’t feel like one to me, it wasn’t even slightly spine-chilling.
The staff members are posting news pertaining to diablo 3, just becuase they didn't post something that you agree with, doesn't mean the news is garbage.
And if I don't give a shit about Adam Sesslers opinion on this game, I sure as hell don't give a FUCK what some rand in his moms basement (you) has to say about this game.
Point out a single opinion I've given here about Diablo?
Get your head out of your ass, and stop making an ass out of yourself with your assumptions.
Did you not read anything? If you don't want to hear complaining from "those people", then stop posting stuff that will just encourage it. Especially stuff that isn't really news worthy or constructive to the community. Seriously, how could that vid be productive in any way of getting Diablo info? It was just one big idiot attacking a group of other idiots.
Get it now?
P.S. And you're mistaken. I don't give value on what Sessler says on just about anything (not this game exclusively)... except maybe Jack Thompson.

I'm sure you will get the "oh crap I need to get out of here" feeling in D3, probably more so since you cant rely on potions anymore. You didn't get a creepy feeling cause you weren't playing the game.I though the ritual for the thousand pounder was creepy, I thought those cultists were creepy when they transformed into demons, and I thought the grotesque exploding eel guy was creepy. It's really a matter of opinion, and that's what this argument will always boil down to.
I'll say it again, there are a bunch of people here who are an informercials best friend.
Well you can't deny that D3 looks and feels perfect. It's just that it's so convenient to channel your internet rage through topics such as this. First everyone hated D2 when it came out, then everyone hated WoW when it got out, now everyone hates D3..... Nothing changes except the fact that they are and will remain legendary games. It's just the matter of what comes next to complain about, right?
D2 didn't have half the complaints because it also didn't have half of the following that the series now has. Who cares if a game has AWESOME graphics if you can't stand to play it for more than 30 minutes.
I don't recall seeing half the complaint's about D2 that I have on D3
If you don't like it so much. There isn't much of a reason for you to be here and following all the news? One less isn't going to make a difference.
I mean most people who don't like something, have nothing to do with it.
your a hypocrite.
Go chill in a wow forum or something.
I don't recall seeing half the complaint's about D2 that I have on D3
Actually, people were pissed left and right about Diablo II- especially about the desert areas. There were also those that were especially grateful for it. Back then the web wasn't as developed as it is now, though, so you're not going to find many forums with threads about them.
Is the only thing he says through the interwiev "People cant say Blizz what D3 looks like!"?
No, he says more than that.
Warning, hyperbole:
So if Blizz decides to put MickyMouse in D3 as a boss, we cant complain?
You still don't get it do you? No one said that you can't complain, but they are saying that it is arrogant to assume that Diablo needs to be changed into what you personally envision it as.
Even though im fully serious with what i said there, i know people will ignore it just because... "hyperbole".
Exactly. Your points rely on exaggerations that make them moot. Mickey Mouse is not the level of bad that you people are complaining about. You're complaining about a game in which you've seen barely anything, and you're complaining about lighting and armor design in a microscopic way that seems inflated and premature at this point from what we've seen of the game.
So serious now: If they want to f' around with how Diablo looks, fine. But complaints about it are unavoidable. Them saying something like that would be just like accepting that they dont plan to stay true to Diablo.
In your eyes. In mine they've taken the series to the next level.
Some random things i would like to see:
- More "realistic" equipment models. And i dont say equipment of the barb (an example) should be like real-life armor. But it should be "immersive". The current ones will clearly bang on his head if he moves his head. Or like VegasRage said: The female barb better doesnt shrug her shoulders.
- Better models for environmental objects. Those chairs and tables could be a lot more kickass. They somehow look like toys imo, and there are more people who dislike them.
- Better animations for spells and item glow. Its a bit too big. A slight glow or buzz could be kickass, but seeing the full power of the element when it first hits the monster (kinda like in the previous games) is really kickass and doesnt have a chance of affecting the credibility.
- Contrast between monster and environment could be better. This will hopefully be better thatnks to blood and corpses staying longer. But even before we start slaughtering, the place should be a bit dirty.
- The green dungeon is kinda weird and doesnt really create a good atmosphere.
They are changing the dungeons to add even more grit. They won't be changing the armor or lighting. They won't be making most of those changes. But I bet once you see the final game you'll see a darker game than you thought previously. I bet you'll be surprised.

I think that potion of the show is SUPPOSED to be like that. I think it's from his soap box section or whatever it's called.
http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/688189/Sesslers_Soapbox_Diablo_IIIs_Flaming_Fanboys.html
Yeah. "Sessler's Soapbox" It's suppose to be him ranting about stuff.
That was a different era. An era of less whiny internet folly. Blizzard wasn't as popular. Gamers weren't as jaded.
And guess what?
Wilson has said himself that he recalls people complaining that D2 was way too bright and colorful as well upon release.
