PurePandemonium got an exclusive audio interview with Michael Gough, better known for his role as the voice of Diablo 3's Deckard Cain and Starcraft's Tassadar.
Lol. I could not make out what to think with him describing WoW to diablo 3//diablo/2lod. He either did not play them that much at all, not at all, or was being VERY careful lol.
Seems like anyone you ask about the art direction treds on it like they are above a 20,000 foot hole walking on thin strands of rice paper. Better not fall ^_^.
Whats interesting is him throwing a diablo 4 out there. Or him saying he damaged his voice screaming in a "mutation" and big "battles" kind of voice. Now that bit of info right there was the key to the interview i think. Aside from his awesome and fantastic voice for deckard cain, which i thought was brilliant and very humorous.
How old is he? He doesn't sound old at all >.< Could think he's in my age. Anyway, he's really cool. Would love to stay a while and listen to this guy some more

Not sure. I've seen pictures of him online.
He's done stuff for Scooby Doo, Speeed Racer, and Whinnie the Pooh if that gives any sort of idea.
I'd say maybe he was born in the early 60's? Not sure though.
He sounded a little unsure of how to choose his words in the end in regards to the design. Perhaps he is in favour of a darker version?
I think he just wasn't all that familiar with the Blizzard games. I wish they would have asked him if he was a Diablo fan or if he at least played all the way through it. Even if he only played it when it came out I would still like to know which character Deckard Cain would choose??

You pronounce it as "guff"? I always imagined it was "go".
The guy sounds really boring because he's stopping in the middle of his speech to think about what he's going to say alot :/
But it's funny when he suddenly switches to Cain's voice
It's actually "goff", rhymes with Cough...I thought it was "go" as well...good thing I asked him before the interview started!
Interesting interview, we don't usually hear too much about voice actors who worked for Blizz. It's funny to hear his real voice, I couldn't believe he played Cain until I heard him at the very end.
A young guy like him playing an old coot like Cain, I'm sure he knows more about D3 than what he said ^_^.

"stay awhile and listen."
That's what I enjoyed about interviewing him. Very down to earth and fun to talk to.

I was a little disappointed he didn't talk at all about his Tassadar character. I wonder what voice acting he might have done for Starcraft 2.
And that Pure Pandemonium site is lucky now that they have that soundbyte of Deckard Cain plugging the site.

What are you talking about?
I just listened to the entire thing again on two different pc's and I didn't hear any sucking/chewing noises...
EDIT: Ok I see what you mean now...although I really only heard it when I turned it up really loud...and even then it wasn't super noticeable.
Hey give me some credit...I used Skype and a headset.

Glad to hear it!
It was fun interviewing him. Maybe I'll try for a video interview next...hmm
