Diablo 3 News Watch
The goal of this thread is to put the rapidly growing amount of news and rumors that are building up around Diablo 3 possibly being announced at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational.
Re: Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational
Last year Blizzard announced Starcraft 2, this year many rumours are floating around that a Diablo 3 announcement is going to take place.
It would make sense to use this event to announce what millions of fans have been waiting for.
Also, i would like to point out that June 29th is the Diablo 2 release date anniversary. What a perfect day to announce the next Diablo.
Re: Blizzard Job openings
There is a large assortment of job postings for some "Top Secret" game. Many of the postings begin with this "The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a". It's obvious that they are working on another game, and hopefully the team behind Diablo I and II are working on III lol.
New job postings as of 3/14 - 4/5 of the job listings that day were Diablo related.

The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a skilled lead 3D level designer with experience building levels using Maya or other similar 3D level building tools. More to come...
He's right. This thread should be about Diablo 3.
Oh, did you hear about Star Trek XI? J.J. Abrams (the guy who directed Lost) is directing it! YAY!!!
anyway, the realisation of Diablo III actually becoming reality is... strange. like, i never really thought it could actually happen. you know, like christmas
Sorry, that new siggy addition deserves an eternal plaque somewhere on the site, lmao...
i am still amazed, shocked, perplexed, and stupefied on...
why does everyone like Star Trek...or star wars...
Off Topic:
I just bought the Sin War Trilogy.
Hopefully I'll get around to reading it soon..
On Topic.. well, sort of... kinda. maybe, not really..
If they don't announce Diablo III I really hope the announce Warcraft 4!
I'll be pretty content.
I do like the original star wars, before the CG Jaba the Hutt. Now Star Trek, hmm, I do like the Borg, but other than that I never finished watching a single episode, let alone movie. I take it back, I did finish one movie, it was 1st Contact, I think.
I am more amazed, shocked, perplexed, and stupefied on...
why everyone likes Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter movies. Honestly, most of the lines in those movies are crap. Most of the lines in those movies are just something to bridge the gap between one "amazing" CG visual to the next.
And yeah, no new news, so that's why I kept it off topic.
I really don't like harry potter movies, but I like the books and its the other way around for lord of the rings. I guess people just love to see the books characters come to life.
I do like Smeagel (LOTR) and Dobbie from Harry Potter tho.
I've been looking over the Blizzard job postings and wondering... What is a 'next-generation mmo' anyways? Is it for the next-gen consoles? (really doubt it). Or will it simply have better graphics? Will Guild Wars 2 be considered a 'next-generation mmo'?
I figured this was the best place to put this, but if there's a better one let me know.
Blizzard said they have no plans to go to the console, and they mean it from what happened to Starcraft: Ghost - The Next Gen MMO is most likely for the PC.
Diablo III is perhaps the most obsessed-over game to never have its existence officially acknowledged. Numerous sites and message boards are dedicated exclusively to a game that's developing into a legend on par with Bigfoot or Richard Gere's poor gerbil.
How much ass would it have kicked?
The Diablo series is what happens when you let red-blooded, meat-eating Americans make a role-playing game. Gone are the androgynous heroes, talking raccoons and quests that revolve around retrieving used panties you find in Japanese RPGs, replaced instead with demon killing. Lots and lots demon killing. Besides Blizzard simply doesn't make bad games, producing literally nothing but genre-defining classics for the past decade plus.
So is there any chance it'll come out?
Unfortunately for Diablo enthusiasts Blizzard North, the division of the company devoted to the Diablo franchise, dissolved a few years back. Several Blizzard North employees subsequently formed their own company and started developing Hellgate: London, a game fans considered a spiritual successor to Diablo II right up until the moment it came out and they realized it was complete crap.
