Update on the unannounced MMO!
Amd this is their source (lol): http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html;jsessionid=BC8F0682596A98B2FE1E8A8EA381AC0D?topicId=3168513730&sid=1&pageNo=1
IT IS OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED.
Edit: Well... calling it Diablo 3 is speculation because of the focus on the term 'unannounced title.'
For conversation's sake, what is a "Title" anyway?
that doesn't matter, look at what they are saying... a BLIZZARD AUTHORIZED site has a link named Diablo III.... blizzard authorized site being keywords
also blizzard didn't tell them, they just noticed and posted
3rd edit.. woot! those links have raised my excitement immensely lol... a few minutes before i logged on here i was worrying about girls and when i looked at those links i didn't remember what a girl was until a few minuets aFTER i was off the site
and i'd much rather blizzard bless it than the pope =]
I'm saying that the mainstream media is starting to get a whiff of hysteria surrounding the new and Blue-confirmed "next-gen MMO." Until Blizz outright hits us with the news none of this is evidence. I merely provided some links for discussion. The fact that a sanctioned site has been either A) given the green light for a Diablo III related forum or has yet to be contacted to remove it from their site remains somewhat exciting.
Blizzard is wise to sanction a site for Diablo discussion as they are unable to host the boards on their own site for various reasons. Sure, it would be a lot more reassuring to have a Diablo III board on the Blizz site (that would be the Blizz blessing), but that is clearly against their long-standing doctrine of non-disclosure. You'll see a Diablo III (or World of Sanctuary or what have you) discussion board when the game is announced or released.
Discounting or swearing-against a Diablo MMO this early before any information has been released solely based on the fact that WoW is a somewhat mediocre experience is also unwise in my opinion. How did traditional Warcraft players feel about having their pride and joy mutated into what it is today? Its hack-n-slash roots will shine through in whatever form the game takes in its next iteration. Blizzard might be figuratively cruel and unresponsive at times, but they are far from ignorant when it comes to these matters. Alienating a community and fanbase as savvy and dedicated as the one gathered here is a sure way to lose business for life.
I agree, Blizzard is smart!
Long live the Diablo Franchise!
I figured that; and the links are appreciated. I just wanted to temper the information with some perspective. A lot of these tidbits are entirely unimportant in their own right, but as they increase, along with teh "Blizzard leaks" it certainly indicates things are progressing.

sorry for this post:)
What I think is going on is that Blizzard is actually hiring MMO experts to create a new Battle.net. Basically, Battle.net is a MMO server. Since Blizzard has over a thousand people actively engaged with WoW and its expansion, they would need to hire the same number of people to create and maintain a Diablo MMO. Because Blizzard is not hiring a significant number of new employees, it is safe to assume they are utilizing these MMO experts for another project. Keeping that in mind, the original Diablo fans are used to a 2D, one time purchase game. They know if they make a dramatic change to their game, they will loose most of their original fan base. Furthermore, they will get a massive amount of negative reactions from the Blizzard community.

What I think is going on is that Umaro is not here.

That was one of the fucking greatest posts ever.

I wouldn't say that Blizzard wouldn't make that dramatic of a change to Diablo, I think they are fully capable of making a great Diablo game whether they change dramatically it or not. Warcraft fans were also used to RTS, that didn't stop Blizzard from releasing WoW...
To Spaz.: i'm trying not to get my hopes up but i can't help but be excited haha
