Blizzard Establishes "Team 3"
Gamasutra reports that Frank Pearce of Blizzard Entertainment has just confirmed that the company is working hard on another new title... and it's not World of Warcraft or Starcraft II. 40 people are working on Starcraft II and 40 people are working on this secret Team 3 project, so it's definitely another big one. According to Pearce, "Team 3 is working on something really awesome. I can’t give you any hints, but it’s totally awesome."
With Blizzcon '07 coming up this August 3-4, people have high hopes that this mystery game will be unveiled.
Hmmm, Team 3... Diablo 3... could it be? Join our discussion!

OR
TOO MANY HOURS!
Oh my god.. Diablo III is coming. I know it!
No way lol. =P
23 Hours, 21 Minutes, and 33 Seconds
Everyone be optomistic. Diablo 3 is coming. I think that leaked info about the WoW expansion was just to throw us off. WoW just got an expansion earlier this year and I doubt too many people who play are way excited about the new announcement. 9 Million people will buy the expansion regardless, so why would Blizzard need to hype it and/or keep it under wraps until the day of the officail announcement?
Two unannounced projects. One is the WoW expansion. The second has to be D3. That's all there is to it. To do otherwise would be a complete blunder on Blizzard's behalf.
Enjoy.
The screen is dark.
Soon, small pieces of matter begin to lazily fall onscreen. A little bit of music can be heard: faint strings accompanied by the beat of a foreboding drum.
A voice in the darkness, familiar, with a hint of echo before and after it:
"For the sake of mankind, I had to destroy it. I knew not the consequences."
The music gains a bit of volume, and the bits of matter are soon recognized as snow as the accumulation becomes more pronounced.
"It had to be done. And now...it must be undone."
The snow begins to whip wildly across the black screen, and from the darkness, the Blue Blizzard logo fades onscreen, and then fades away.
As the logo fades, the drum beats twice loudly, strong and tolling in nature: it is a call.
Soon we see a great clawed foot treading slowly to the foreground. The skin is black and scaly, and the ground shakes with every footfall.
The strings become more pronounced and frantic in their playing, the drums beat loudly, pulling at our courage.
The creature stops, and the camera slowly pans up his body.
"There was always a chance that...but the heavens were not prepared for this."
We see his hellish form slowly take shape. And just as the camera comes to the neck of this demonic creature, the screen goes black again, and the flakes of snow resume.
As the screen goes black, the music quickly cuts out, replaced by something soft: a mixture of winds and voices; a sort of sad chorus.
Another voice, somewhat similar, and yet older:
"Then perhaps now the time has come again...for mortal men."
The tremblingly strong music picks up again as his last word is uttered, and the screen suddenly bursts into flames, and from the flames emerge familiar letterforms. They are engulfed in flames, but are now easily readable:
Diablo III.
After the flaming words fade away, the snow and music together begin to subside, and we hear the original voice once more, angelic in its tone:
"I must go now. There is much to do..."
And for just a moment, we can see half of a terrible demonic face. One dark and yellowed eye, and a mouth filled with dripping fangs, turned up in a sneer.
The screen goes black.
I'm hopeful just like you. We do not have much real info about D3. What's to say that it isn't far along in developement?
Alot of people throw out pesimistic ideas like "d3 is only 10% complete." Do they have the info to back that statement though? I think not.
Anyway, since WoW got leaked maybe they wanted to get Diablo fans thinking there will only be WoW EXP. Nothing got leaked about SCII, they can keep things a secret, I think they let WoW EXP out on purpose.
Perhaps their father?
Perhaps a son?
Either way, I described the skin as black, so unless he'd been rolling around in mud...
