Ladder in Diablo 3
Will there every be ladders in Diablo 3? Blizzard cannot either confirm nor deny. Meanwhile you can check what Jay Wilson had to say about ladders in an interview for Diablofans.

It is not an impossibility that we will get to see a ladder system in Diablo III in the future, but if we were ever to introduce this into the game, we would have to be very careful with the design as well as the implementation.

Ladder System would be a O2 Bubble in D3... but i prefered to see PVP first, cause they promise ( as usualy) that D3 will come with PVP system...

i really really really hope there will be no ladder reset ever! with all the random stats and the RMAH it seems pretty impossible to do so. also, ladder resets worked so well in D2 LoD because you could build a good gear setup with relatively cheap runes from scratch

I guess it was harder for them to balance out pvp that they had anticipated. Hopefuly it will be some fun and last a while.

I think a ladder system would motivate the more regular players to play more and motivate themselfs to farm better gear. Something that happened to me by finding a youtube video of a uber demon hunter motivated me to start playing again.

Can somebody explain the problems that arise with a ladder? I can't really come up with any downsides right now.

I hope the time it takes to develop PvP will deliver awesome game modes. Some kind of battle grounds or objective based games besides normal arena. Anyway I will be happy for PvP regardless the quality.

I'm not looking too forward to the whole PvP side of D3, but a ladder system would atleast be a nice way to compete.

As much as some people have been waiting for PVP, I think the game has lost too much of its player base at this point for it to make too much of an impact. Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, but there would have to be a dramatic overhaul to draw back the crowd I'm assuming Blizzard is expecting.
