This reminds me of something that was floating around on the official Bnet forums many months ago. Someone came up with a way to combine the Skill Calculator on the D3 official site and some other randomization tools to make a randomized Hardcore Challenge, where you get a random selection of skills for both your character and follower, and you can ONLY use those skills and no others. So for instance, if the skill/rune you roll earliest unlocks at level 20...you're only allowed to use standard attacks until that one is available. Crazy.

But I feel like this is much the same concept...willingly choosing skills that may not work perfectly in harmony, or emphasizing a Follower for damage output, in order to achieve more glory. Pretty cool.

See, I don't necessarily feel like this game is too easy, but because the Auction House has made it so easy for people to overlook items that don't maximize damage and crits, and view anything that doesn't as garbage, most people hear the suggestion to go in a direction that isn't just "roflstomping through the tulips" and they just scoff. Those people view using "inefficient" skills as moronic, and alternate gear choices as just plain dumb.

When in Diablo 2, there was a lot of fun to be had making "quirky" builds that went in really creative directions.

Pretty cool idea here. Hope you get people on board.
THAT sounds really fun. Randomized skils? :o I'm going to have to google that. Thanks! Still I think this is very different from that since these skills and passives are chosen to work together in a way that helps you support your follower.

And I completely understand what you mean about inefficiency. A lot of people will not understand the point of this because they want to just find ways to make the game easier to kill monsters faster, rather than harder. Thanks CardinalMDM

I may be completely alone here, but I just wanted to point out that there is no way I am watching 6 videos just to figure out what you're talking about.

Op you don't happend to be yet another guy failing to complete hell on hc in the first patch and whine about the game being to easy?
The first video is the introduction talking about the purpose and design philosophy. The other five videos are for each class. 1. Demon Hunter 2. Barbarian 3. Witch Doctor 4. Monk 5. Wizard. That's why there are six :)

And it's not a matter of failing or whining. It's boredom. I want to remember leveling my characters, not mindlessly grind through levels to get to 60. These builds hopefully provide a challenge to myself and other players that are interested in leveling characters and have a more challenging, memorable experience doing so.

    Hello Diablo Fans,

Long time lurker here finally with something to share that may interest you all. I call them Challenge builds, with which players can experience a greater challenge with monster encounters while also, making followers a more interesting and valuable part of the experience.

When D3 originally launched, I made fun of the game while it was still in beta for being too soft and easy. While at the time, many people bashed me for saying this, I think now, most people will admit, D3 isn't really all that challenging. Especially in early levels. And so back then, I played D3 for awhile, but got bored fast because it was too easy, and I stopped playing.

Fast forward now to 2013 and Reaper of Souls grabbed my attention. Even though I wanted to come back to D3 and level other classes I hadn't touched before, I didn't want to because I thought it would be boring grinding them to 60. This fixes that for me and may interest you if you're also in the process of leveling a new character. Of course this build can still be used by level 60s as well and I encourage anybody with any class to try out the build.

There are six videos, one introduction video and 5 other videos for each class and the details about their builds.

This is something I'd like to do maybe a couple of times a month. Your feedback would really be appreciated. So if you try these out, please leave me a comment with some feedback either here in this post, or on one of the videos that talks about the builds. Thanks in advance!

Either way, I hope you guys enjoy the videos and builds!
