They will never allow trading again in D3 this is why they boost leg drops dramatically and then doubled it. it is for the best. fuck the farming bots. I say good job blizz.

sorry I am going to bow out as I do not understand. all i know is. I can go on NL toon and do and find the exact same items that are in ladder.

Yes of course when LOD first came out and had the new items you can only find in ladder. BUT after that every single ladder reset, your toon is NL and to be in ladder you had to make ladder toon of course. but that NL toon could still get the same items in Ladder. whats is hard to understand about that? SO like i said. I can go on a NL toon AT THIS VERY MOMENT and find the same items that are in Ladder.

EDIT: And in HCCL there was no new items.

The exact same items fall in ladder and in NL games. so what are you talking about.
Not exactly. Same base item and runes could drop in ladder and non-ladder. But certain runewords would ONLY work ladder. These runewords would not work in non-ladder.

Also D2 ladder had ubers which dropped the hellfire torch. Ubers could not be played in non-ladder thus this item could not be acquired in non-ladder without trading for it with a character whom previously obtained one from ladder.

These are the only 2 reasons I played D2 ladder.
again. I can go on a NL toon make ubers and get torch just like in ladder.

Um there was no ladder only loot in D2. When we had ladder reset you can get the exact same items in non ladder. And who is this "WE" that didn't enjoy ladders in D2? everyone I knew loved ladder resets. and a heck of a lot of people only came back to D2 when the ladder DID reset.
I don't know how you long played D2 for, but this is absolutely false. There was ALOT of ladder only items and ladder only runewords. Sure once the ladder season was over the gear got converted to non-ladder, but NEVER could you find ladder only items playing non-ladder. Unless of course that has changed in the last 2 years, but I highly doubt it.
I have played D2 since the first year it was released. I did not play much LOD but stayed in HCCL (LOD was to easy) And no there was not ladder only items. Like I said. When the ladder did reset there was nothing new. same items in ladder as in non ladder. no idea what your talking about.
EDIT: Site I found was LOD, forgot there were no Druids in original!
ummm ok yes maybe for the first ladder reset yes but thats it. after that every reset after that had nothing new. same items in NL as in Ladder.

edit: In HCCl (Hard Core Classic Ladder) we did not have any new items when ladder first reset. Only LOD.

To me, I just don't care, as long the game is fun.
But that's the problem in a nutshell. A lot of us have been down this road before in D2. We understand what ladders are. We understand the ramifications of ladder-only loot.

We didn't enjoy it in D2, therefore, it stands to reason that it will be another knock to our enjoyment of D3. We want to have fun but we have very good reason to believe that this is going to diminish our fun instead of enhancing it.

It seems that people will have their opinion about it but that by far does no mean you are right. And to say your going to find a dif game to play if they do this or of they do that is childish.

How do you know it was blizz who disconnected you? Most times its your internet Provider, some general regional issuesor 24h auto-DC.

I agree HC is the ONLY way to play this game, had DC/lag char loss myself last yeartwo times when it hurt much more then now!
Every time I've had a server DC (only 2 or 3 times), the game stops and I don't die. If the server glitches, the game stops. Typically when it's the connection, that's when you die. i.e. the monsters can't keep fighting you if the server flips the game off.
Your right Ruksak, Now that you mention it when i DC the game has just stopped. But when it is connection issue monsters keep fighting you, and have lost connection everywhere (skype, ts)

yes please blizz. do not give us fresh new legs and do not give us seasons. keep everything as is so i can be bored in no time.

The thought of starting all over again to hunt for new exciting legs (just like everyone else is going to have to do) sounds EXTREMELY lame and idiotic.

seriously tho, what a ridiculous argument this is to think blizz is FORCING you to play ladders. damn right force me to play ladders, i say, for these new legs. The idea of constantly having a fresh start with new items in ladder only is the ONLY way this game will survive.
I think there's many ways to add longevity to the game besides erasing your progress every 6 months. PvP, Tiered rifts and many other competitive avenues would suffice for many. Myself, I play HC almost exclusively, so the prospect of Ladders seems intriguing. I'll likely get in on ladders here and there, but ONLY because of the items.

PS: If ladders were actually fun, they wouldn't need incentive to get people to play them.

PS part 2: When half you post is sarcasm, it's hard to take you seriously at all.
sarcasm was intended. As for being taking seriously, I never am because i don't know what i am talking about most of the time and have hard time putting words to paper. All I know is what is fun for me. And I have had EXTREME fun when D2 ladders always reset (was never any new items when they did reset) even to this day when they reset ladders in d2 I go over and start a new toon. Mark my words. This is the best thing that can happen to this game. you will get great enjoyment and have a blast starting new toons with yourself or with friends.

Honestly I am really torn. I love the idea of ladders as a fun bit of competition between my friends and I (none of us play enough what with work and family to dream about competing on any other level) I actually like ladder only items with the caviot that they can drop in non-ladder after the season is over. Bagstone brought up the feeling of being left behind... but honestly I have felt that from the beginning how can I compete (stay geared as this is pre seasons) when I have a family a job with over 40 hours a week involved etc. I can't I will never catch up to the people who play all they time, so to me yea I hate the idea of falling further behind but really who do they cater to? The people like me who barely play? Or the people who have wanted this for years now and play totals of over 1000+ hours and are geared up and cant wait for more? I mean I wish this was moddable like in Torchlight 2. I played that with friends with a mod to increase drop rates so that we were geared out in about 5 months of 1-3 hours every few days of playing. I would never be able to experience a full gear out in D3 and thats slightly disappointing especially with all the neat builds and stuiff that require particular legs. But I should not hold back people who have the time. Like I said I am torn.
This is why they make legs drop frequently so a person can log on play for a few hours and feel like he is getting somewhere. It is not meant to be played for 50+ hours a week. no game is. But as for climbing the ladder to be in the top 10..... dont bother even setting that as a goal. dont even bother setting a goal to be on the ladder at all(bot will dominate it because they only do ban waves MAYBE once a year). Just enjoy the new items and content.
