Got myself some magefist with a nice 19% extra fire damage and 7% cool down reduction, 5% attack speed and some nice strength and vitality. Even though the rest of my gear is crap (100k dmg on char sheet) I manage to produce some pretty juicy 1.8 mil crits. Elemental dmg % items really can make builds viable (also have a wizard with about 50% extra lightning dps, he is shredding through torment 3 with only 90k sheet dmg), I can only imagine the effect when combined with decent, well rolled gearPosted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep

^^So....now the bug is not only on Strafe, but RF as well?
It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Sorry to be the newb, what does channeling mean?
Does it mean just holding down the skill button?

Is it me or the shadow power (gloom) + rapid fire isn't healing enough?
Never played with rapid fire till now, so maybe the mechanics are like that from the start (not to mention low discipline regen)
Actually, it heals insanely well if used correctly. The trick is that the channeling determines how much life you gain only on the first shot and then keeps applying that to the rest. This means you have to activate Gloom before you start channeling. If you press Gloom in the middle of your channeling you won´t gain any heals at all.
However, and here comes the trick, as longs as you channel, you will gain the life. Even after your shadow power expires, you will still be gaining 15% of the damage done as life. This makes it possible to just spam RF, even while facetanking huge clusters of mobs. This makes you not care for Siege Breakers Reflect damage, it makes you not care about anything basically as long as you have the hatred to keep channeling.

I was sceptical of the Rapid Fire buff as well. In fact, I was very close to actually abandoning DH as my main character after playing her since launch, but after some MP10 uber runs tonight I have to say it is a very sweet skill now.Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands
One of the main arguments people give for discarding Rapid Fire as a weak skill is "it lacks AoE" damage. However, if you pick the bombardment rune you will start seeing some yellow screens from all the large crits you are making to multiple mobs at once. I went from struggling on MP5 with the cookie cutter Ball Lightning-Spike Trap build to feeling usefull on MP10 and happily facetanking, chucking tons of grenades at my miserable foes.
True, DH is still a very squisy class and I often find myself cursing myself for not dodging those pesky flies Maghda sends at me, but on the other hand being a glass cannon is the reason I picked the class in the first place.
It would be nice to see some buffs to our survivability and making some more skills viable on higher MPs wouldn't hurt, but this patch was at least a step in the right direction if you ask me.

Especially since today's patch I slowly feel Diablo 3 starts feeling more and more like Diablo 2 felt when I played it years ago. I'm having fun with friends again since it now actually is somewhat rewarding to play in groups instead of punishing.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Also, you now have several things to do that are all worth your time. Between paragon levels, the item grind, ubers and crafting combined with the MP levels and equalized density there is multiple goals to set yourself and several ways to achieve them. Yes, they are all still grinds, but being able to switch them up and still progress your caracter in meaningfull ways make them so much less boring to do.
Identify all makes it worth your time to pick up rares again since it just takes a fraction of a second to gloss over items that you are salvaging or selling to the vendor to spot items with potential for cash or gear. On top of that, both WD and DH got some buffs that make sure they can actually be valuable additions to a party on higher MP levels (without the neccesity to overgear).
Overall I think the game is worth it to play again. There is challenges for everyone on several difficulty, time and budget levels. But as mentioned above, the best way to find out yourself is to just load up the game and start having some fun. The best part about Diablo is still that you can pick it up, play a 30 min run and continue with the rest of your day.
