You honestly think that if one of your immediate friends doesn't need the legendary upgrade that you wouldn't head straight to the blacksmith to claim your Forgotten Soul? You'll just hold onto it just so that maybe you can trade it someday? I doubt that.
Actually I would save it. If I know its hard to get my frostburns for my frost wiz but i found some ik gloves you'd bet your ass I'd save it just in case i come to pass a barb in a pub. What If he's got my frostburns or another piece of gear i may want? You really don't save good gear just because no one you know needs it?
Problem with live is that I can never find good gear anyways. This will probably change though in RoS. As for saving gear, yeah for myself... I have never once thought that I would save it to trade with a random. I have all classes to 60 so any good gear has always been consider for upgrading my own characters.

OP discovers an instance where trading wouldn't be necessary....means trading is unnecessary?

    Pretty dumb....dude......pretty dumb.

I like how people have somehow managed to turn my post into something its not. I never once used the terms unnecessary or not needed. I just thought of something regarding the new BoA and thought I'd share it. I guess my first mistake was to even bring up the subject.

For all the undeserved hostility, I hope BoA does stick around and you touchy whiners can sit and sulk.

Well, considering this is what you said....

My point is a that a lot of people want trading regardless of whether or not they need it. It's really not an issue of whether trading is necessary.

...then I was forced to disagree with you.
I don't need trading, not now, not in RoS, yet I want trading in the game.

I would have to agree with you maka. Needing to trade is a bad design. Wanting to trade if you would like to do so should still be there though. Since it's still early though, I just hope that some people take two steps back, breathe and realize that it's not to late for systems to be changed or for Blizzard to reach some sort of compromise with BoA and the pro-trading community.

I don't care too much about high-end trading being gone. What I hate is that you cannot even share items in a group of friends or in the same game. I realize it would probably be hard to find a way to allow this which is not abusable, but it just sucks if you and your friend are in the same game and you find a BoA item that would be absolutely amazing for him but has no use for you, maybe its even for a class you never plan on playing. There should be some way of giving this item to your friend.

Now you're wrong in that regard. Blizzard currently has a two hour time period after the item drops that anyone that was in the game when the item dropped can trade for that item.

Don't forget that getting upgrades won't be exclusive to monster drops anymore. Gambling with blood shards has been confirmed to provide legendaries too. Modz got a legendary from the gambling NPC during one of his streams.

I apologize too. After reading your post it really wasn't too hostile.

I am not pro or anti trading either. When looking at the new loot system, I see a vastly improved system over live D3. I do want those who are in favor of trading to have some kind of system. And personally, I feel the best compromise comes from lifting the BoA restriction for clans. I'm not in favor of it stretching to friends lists because that it too small of a window for RMT of items. Clans are more personal and inviting random bots to clans sounds like a situation that is generally unfavorable to the privacy of the clan members.

I guess it just seems like it is going to be that way. I don't think I deserved that hostile of a response. Man you guys are so touchy. Lighten up.

Think about it though. If the average loot is higher quality, trading for better gear won't be as prevalent as it could've been.

New legendaries are gonna be BoA as of right now, and people are worried since it kills high end trading.

But if there was no BoA how often do you think this is going to happen because of the new drop rates and Loot 2.0?

    Person A:
Hey B, I was doing Rifts last night and found this sweet helm for your build. Here check it out!

Person B: Oh thanks A! But I just found a new Bow that totally changed my build. I don't really need it, but thanks anyways.

I think it would happen all the time...

Not flaming, just a friendly reminder.

You guys, it's only in beta phase... not release.

Many things will change, such as:

    - Weak items/skills/passives becoming OP
    - OP items/skills/passives getting nerfed (but in reality, "fixed")
    - Costs will fluctate
    - Drop rates will fluctuate
    - Undesirable builds will become desired and vice versa
    - Some items/skills/passives will still be very niche

Just take 2 seconds to think about things before you post.

    Thank you. Carry on.

Anyways, I still consider it a blasphemy that a character in the game can wield 2h weapons in 1h and it isn't the Barbarian.

OMG So true! It want my Dual 2H Berserker w/ Frenzy build!

Most legendaries are over-sized and gaudy. I prefer most of the regular gear sets over the legendary gear. I wouldn't doubt that I would be transmogrifying legendaries into rare skins rather than the opposite...

Not only are you biased, you're kind of an asshat for thinking someone's physical traits reflect their creativity/professionalism. So... yeah.
