Absolutely! The effort was amazing. It's awesome we had a thread such as this, and I appreciate all the work that was put into it. Sad to see so much content just disappear overnight though, in my opinion.

posted a message on PTR: Lightning WIzard (Stun FTW)

Just built this a little while ago and thought I would share. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the passive Paralysis had been bugged prior to this patch? Well, it isn't anymore:P

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXJ_126gIzo

I recently found a Storm Crow with +15% damage to lightning skills, and the Dovu Energy Trap amulet that makes stun effects last 50% longer. The synergy there with Paralysis is just awesome. It's a melee-range build as opposed to a kiting or ranged one, and it is performing on Master really well. I'm enjoying this build a lot and just wanted to share it with you guys.

posted a message on PTR: Arcane and Frost Builds
So, been messing around on the PTR for a bit and came up with a pretty awesome full Arcane build. I was absolutely loving it, using my old CM gear I had from live, and it worked out really well.

    Arcane Wizard

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovVv4LbKsqs&feature=c4-overview&list=UUHGE6nurhcfZPKbwDUCrBIQ

Mouse 1: Spectral Blade - Syphoning Blade
Mouse 2: Meteor - Star Pact
    Skill 1: Teleport - Wormhole
Skill 2: Slow Time - Stretch Time
Skill 3: Hydra - Arcane Hydra
Skill 4: Energy Armor - Pinpoint Barrier

    Passive 1: Unstable Anomaly
    Passive 2: Dominance
    Passive 3: Temporal Flux

The fast attack speed (the old 2.74 breakpoint) allowed me to hit pretty quickly with Spectral Blades, and between the 18 APoC I still have from the old gear plus the 5 AP on hit from Syphoning Blade, I was able to have a nearly limitless supply of Arcane Power, thereby essentially having infinite meteors. It was an awesome build! Until...

    Frost Wizard

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZuYFYqL_pE&feature=c4-overview&list=UUHGE6nurhcfZPKbwDUCrBIQ

Mouse 1: Spectral Blade - Ice Blades
    Mouse 2: Meteor - Comet
    Skill 1: Teleport - Wormhole
Skill 2: Frost Nova - Shatter
Skill 3: Blizzard - Unrelenting Storm
Skill 4: Ice Armor - Frozen Storm

    Passive 1: Unstable Anomaly
    Passive 2: Dominance
    Passive 3: Cold Blooded

So, farming on the PTR, and I find an Azurewrath. The thing makes me want to re-do my ENTIRE build. So I decided to try a Frost Wizard, and man is it a lot of fun! It really speaks volumes when finding one item makes you want to respec the entire build around it. Anyway, the way it works is fairly straightforward, I'm constantly freezing/slowing everything, with a pretty infinite meteor supply on this one as well. GG itemization.

Enjoy guys! Anything you would recommend for me? Hopefully I find some Magefist gloves soon, and I'll give a Fire Wizard a go... :)

Info: I'm a relatively new streamer, playing vanilla Diablo 3 now (no beta yet sadly), but will play RoS like mad if I get into closed beta, and a ton for sure when it's released. Can't wait! I have a paragon level 100 Wizard, and also leveling my Demon Hunter as well. I'm planning on leveling up Paragon in Hardcore too :) Right now I'm going back and forth between D3 and Hearthstone. I appreciate the add if you would be so kind! Thanks in advance! :)

    Hello all,

I just wanted to start a little game/discussion for the forums here, for those of us who have been playing D3 since its release last year. Please post a memory you have of Diablo III that is no longer in the game, whether it has been removed by a patch, changed, no longer viable, etc. Feel free to comment on the memory of the person before you, and please add your own! If you like, you can also add pictures/screenshots as well.

    I'll go first.

Diablo III: I remember when... we had Invulnerable Minions as an elite affix.

Note: Please, nothing immature like I remember when the game was good, or something like that. The point of this is to reminisce about things that people may have forgotten about, or haven't had the opportunity to experience if they started playing Diablo 3 at a later date. This is not a "let's bash Diablo III" thread. Thanks!

posted a message on Is anyone still playing this game?.
I still play every day. I have a paragon level 100 Wizard (who is my main), and I'm currently working on getting all achievements. I strongly recommend for those who are getting a bit bored with the game at this point, to take a look at the achievements. Some of them (a lot of them) are really a lot of fun to try and obtain! Especially the Unique Collection achievement. I am trying to hunt each Unique monster, there are 82 in all and I have around 16 or 17 left to kill. It's kind of a cool feeling to be a sort-of bounty hunter, aside from the normal loot or exp runs. At the same time, I'm doing this with a Demon Hunter to try to get the 100K demons killed achievement as well. He's also gaining paragon levels, and I'm getting legendaries. So it's like killing 4 birds with one stone.

I also leveled each class to 60 in both Hardcore and Softcore.

TL;DR: The achievements are worth trying to get, and will breathe life into the game until RoS. It has for me, anyway.

Point 5 is actually the most important one to me.

With health bumping up and down like crazy, globes become useless, especially on higher MPs and for higher health pools.

He wasn't talking about the health globes you pick up, he was referring to your HP as "the" health globe. The orb with your health pool in it. "A rapidly changing health globe" = your HP going up and down.

posted a message on Expansion cost revealed by Bashiok?
That's not the real Bashiok. If it was, you would see it as Bashiok, not the SC profile. Blues are the same no matter what forum in which they post. Also, the thread would also have a Blizz logo over it. What happened here was that the Diablo forum is displaying the Diablo profile in the thread list, and inside the thread it's displaying this guy's SC profile, because that was what he was logged into at the time of his post. I've seen this happen numerous times already with other people. His Battletag is Bashiok#xxxx (whatever the numbers are), which shouldn't be allowed since there is a real Blizzard employee with that name, however he has that for his Battletag as well.

TL;DR This is no official information, the expansion cost has not been revealed yet. (Although it probably will be $40.)

posted a message on RoS lvl 70 max?
I agree with not wanting items to be only accessible to high paragon level characters, what I meant though was allowing the items to be worn by any character, but giving small bonuses to each +1 paragon level. In other words, the boots I gave in the example would be able to be worn by all, but a paragon level 5 character would get +3.75 strength (or just round it up to 4), whereas with the same item, a paragon level 35 character would get +26 strength (+.75 per paragon level).

Anyway, they probably won't do this, but I hope paragon level does affect our gear choices somehow, besides just giving us character customization as they have already mentioned previously. I am hyped for the character customization however! I can't wait to see what else we are going to be able to do with Paragon levels.

posted a message on RoS lvl 70 max?
What I would really like to see would be items that depend on paragon levels. For example, the way D2 did with character level on its items. A pair of boots for example, which adds +.75 to strength per paragon level, allowing for a total of +75 to strength at Paragon level 100. Something relatively small, not game breaking, but SOMETHING to add a bit more flare to endgame items.

posted a message on I just want an update…
I find it sincerely doubtful that they will let the whole summer go by without giving us some kind of blog or written status about what's been in development lately. I could be wrong of course, but I really think that within these next few months before Loot 2.0 comes out, they will give us an article on something.

This is the time when a huge portion of the playerbase of D3 are on vacation from school, work, etc. and again, I could be wrong, but common sense would argue that summer time would see a lot more active players in general. I'm hoping they won't leave us all in the dark for so long throughout the entire summer without even giving us some kind of written update at the very least, even if there are no new screenshots yet.

I don't know. I'm just rambling. Come on Blizz, give us something.

Is it possible to open a new sub-forum for all these wannabe-designers and their ideas, suggestions, thoughts, wishes etc.?

Agreed and +1'd. It's something the mods really need to consider. The number of "suggestions" that are on the forums lately is kinda... distracting.

    @juskireign
Blizzard said they planned on letting Legendary/Set items roll based on the monster level in the future (perhaps another facet of the Itemization patch). As such, this is basically a moot point.

Yes, I know they've said this, which is why I started off my post with that very information. But they've said that about monster level, like you've pointed out. I'm talking about the craftable items, which obviously do not drop from monsters. Therefore, I'm suggesting that they roll at the player level who crafts them, similar to how the dropped legendaries/sets will roll at the monster level from which they were dropped.

Just a thought I have been pondering over the last few days regarding crafted legendary and set items for when the itemization patch comes out. We were told that when itemization goes live, all legendary and set items will be able to roll at the monster level from which we obtain that item. In other words, a legendary such as Leoric's Signet which now only drops in normal at an item level of 17 would be able to drop in Inferno with an item level of 63, thus making the rolls on that item level 63 as well.

Here is my suggestion: Please allow all crafted legendary and set items to have this same possibility. As it is now, no one ever uses these items at end game, because they are simply too obsolete by that point. The plans are already so rare, it would be nice to see some attention paid to these items. Most of them are actually really cool, and it would be neat to be able to use them when we are level 60.

The best way I can think of to implement this would be to have the item roll its affixes at the level of the player who crafts it. So, let's say a player wants to craft the set pants Captain Crimson's Bowsprit. As it is now, this is a level 32 item. So, if a player crafts it at (or before) his own level of 32, it stays exactly the same as it is now. However, let's say this same player crafts Captain Crimson's Bowsprit when he is at level 45 - the pants would then roll with an item level of 45, thus increasing its affixes to an item level of 45. This notion would apply all the way to level 60, where the item then would be able to roll at an item level of 60 (or 63, which would be even better).

For instance, let's say my character, a level 60 Wizard, crafts Captain Crimson's Bowsprit. Instead of rolling with the properties it has now, which are set at level 32 and are:

    Captain Crimson's Bowsprit
    Legs
    Set Pants
    102 Armor
    Attack Speed Increased by 4–5%
    +4% Chance to Block
    +3 Random Magic Properties

Crafting these at level 60 would then have the item roll with an item level of 63, therefore allowing it to look like this for example:

    Captain Crimson's Bowsprit
    Legs
    Set Pants
    430 Armor
    Attack Speed Increased by 8–9%
    +9% Chance to Block
    +3 Random Magic Properties

    Bam.

Possible replacement for Inna's, anyone? Imagine if those 3 random rolls were All Resistance, 2 sockets, and main stat/vit. Oh boy.

To take this notion even further, obviously the set bonuses would also have to scale accordingly. For example, let us take the current set bonuses for Captain Crimson's Finery:

    Captain Crimson's Finery

    Captain Crimson's Bowsprit
    Captain Crimson's Satin Sash
    Captain Crimson's Whalers

    (2) Set:
    Regenerates 20 Life per Second

    (3) Set:
    +20 Resistance to All Elements

Now, let's assume a player has crafted these items when they all have an item level of 63. They might look something like this:

    Captain Crimson's Finery

    Captain Crimson's Bowsprit
    Captain Crimson's Satin Sash
    Captain Crimson's Whalers

    (2) Set:
    Regenerates 360 Life per Second

    (3) Set:
    +60 Resistance to All Elements

    -----

In conclusion, I think this would be a really substantial improvement to the crafting system, it would allow for more players to move away from the Auction House, it would give players like myself who love to craft an even greater incentive to do so, and it would open up far greater options for gear selection and customization. Imagine the possibilities if all of these low level craftables were given the chance to roll at an item level of 63 like the dropped legendaries and sets will soon be able to do. Just go ahead and look at those lower level recipies. It would be amazing. Go ahead, look at them. Like, right now. Why are you still here?

Blues, it would be great if you could pass this idea on to the developers. Thank you all for your time!
