Flipping from GAH to RMAH works best for me.
I am buying certain items for 100k. Selling them on RMAH for $3-$12
So... 100k gold + $1 transaction fee = the cost
Even if I sell for minimum of $3 (which i get a sale at least once every 2 days) = $2 total profit
1 million gold = lets say about 4 cents right now..so $2 = 50 million..
Started doing this under a month ago and have made almost $90 so far.. = 2.2 billion gold if I were to convert..
Flipping on just the GAH is no where near as profitable than flipping between the two i find..
Have you also consider selling to a third party site? Not sure if its much profitable but I did heard that some people said that its profitable.
I also play PoE and selling my item currency. For example we sell exalted orbs at softcore at around $7 - $9 :Thumbs Up:
and there are alot of sellers within PoE, I bet that it will increase when the open beta is finish.
But I've been wondering knowing that POE is still in its beta phase. isnt it risky to sell your items for real money? have you experience getting scam?
Back 10+ years ago there were very limited choices of games, so when something good for it's time (such as D2) comes out, it makes sense that people will play it for a long time. lolwot?
2000 +- few yars = golden age of PC gaming.
In that time PC games became popular not only for nerds, PC-clubs and rare PC-owners.
During that time released much more great games, than for next 10 years.
And after that time the industry turned into a business and money making.
I agree with your last statement, it does seems like money making within the game is much visible now. Unlike before there are rare activities when it comes to RMT and item shops in mmorpg is not even noticeable my players.
I bet that in the near future even players can do business and make money while playing game legitimately.
I already played PoE and I must say that I like it, but tbh it is not better than D3. I love how they made their currency as the items, seems like a lot of players of PoE are selling their items for real-money. I was surprised while I was browsing a PoE forum marketplace, I saw that one orb can cost $!
gold AH is fine, its more or less same as trading in diablo 2, instead with runes
But RMAH aint cool and shouldt been added to the game
Well considering majority or more likely all mmorpg has a gold AH. so they should not remove that.
and in the case of RMAH I do believe that even if they remove it, there are still third party sties that sells gold and in-game items for real money.
Because of how AH has affected the players, I bet a reasonably big part of the market would switch to third parties if items were made "only tradeable outside of AH".

It would be amazingly surprising and unrealistic if most of the players were currently using third parties.
Most players simply wont care enough to do that in general, and certainly not when they already have a tool available in-game.

A game developer can design a game where players aren't incentivized to hurt their own gaming experience - since the game developer is in full control. They obviously can't do anything regarding your personal life.
I still don't buy that argument. No one is forcing anyone to use the AH. No one and/or nothing. It's a *choice*.
I totally agree. No one is forcing you to use it. Like for me I use the AH to get some profits, it motivates me to play the game more. If the AH in D3 will be remove, there are still places in the web that they can do auctions.

Edit: Usually in the way of "Because I play a certain way, this choice is not a choice." But, you still *chose* to play in that way. So, if a particular choice is not a choice, there was another choice you made before that binding you. Still your problem.
