Ya, I will say its more annoying to play with someone who is overly "efficient" than it is a slower player. Im a broke player, so i pick up all yellows i can and sell or salvage them. I notice the ones who are all about efficiency dont pick up anything and dont take their foot off the gas if you go to town for 30 seconds. Once 30 seconds goes by, theyre so far out of your reach you have to basically port to them off their flag. Then you miss out on the loot that dropped from the things they killed...

A lot of these issues resolved themselves for me in hardcore. Im not rich, i dont have great gear, but I set my MP level appropriately for my character.

Hardcore players seem to work together pretty well for the most part. We all tend to stick together and a lot of players adjust their skills to others in the party. Every now and then you have a player who is just face rolling his way through everything and running way ahead of everyone and believe me thats as annoying as a player who cant kill anything. Especially when said player isnt even killing everything, which doesnt make any sense to me. He/she runs ahead killing monsters, but not ALL of them so those of us trying to catch up kill whats left. If youre trying to level or MF, arent you supposed to kill everything?

Fact is i do believe this is a billionaire club issue youre having. I assume you have great gear and such. You are always going to run into these leeches that dont fit into the MP level they set. Some of us fully understand we cant run MP4 or 5 and thus we dont try to.

However, i will say, this is a universal problem in all games. People bite off more than they can chew and want to be carried.

I understand the OP's frustration, but what has happened in D3 happens in every aspect of life if you think about it. There are always people who want to take shortcuts, always people who dont want to work for anything. It is no surprise to me so many people chose to rely on the RMAH. I have not used it and dont plan to. Other than the fact that i have much better shit to spend my money on (sorry if you use the RMAH, no offense, do what you want), I think if i was to just go balls out and gear up on the RMAH, i would become bored REALLY quick.

Because whats next? Sure, you can start another character, but most people who use the RMAH once will do it again.

The thrill of the game is the hunt.

I went to hardcore about a month before 1.08 hit. Ive already lost a low paragon level WD with half decent gear, but the game has been a lot more fun. I lost my WD and started up a new one minutes later. Got my first BIG drop since release day and turned it into some decent gear. The progress is whats fun to me. Using money to catapult me to end game sounds extremely lame to me, but as i said, no offense to people who use the RMAH. Doesnt bother me.

    1600 hours for 250 dollars?

See, these are the kinds of people who run the official forum into the ground. They are not diablo players. The only thing i continue to do in my life that i cant stand, is WORK. A job.

I found my first big drop yesterday and it came in hardcore. Not once did i ever wish i could see it for real cash. The item was of no use to me, so I used it to get items i did need. Made the game that much funner.

Those of you who are miserable because your pixel items arent worth much $ deserve your misery. No one gives a damn. Seriously. I used to read this forum and try not to be judgemental, keep an open mind, but good lord....

Personally, I don't need any of the OP's questions answered. From a narrow, personal perspective, I could care less about the GAH/RMAH & the so-called economy. I play D3 for 4 reasons: interact with my 'friends', kill monsters, get a chance to see that beautiful bronze cone of light (don't care if it's crap or not), & most importantly (for me) HAVE FUN B)

Same. I get the sense that, the people who are most upset about what happened, are people who spend more time in the Auction House than the actual game. I dont necessarily see anything wrong with that, Ive definitely had my uses of the AH. But the AH, to some people, completely overshadows the fact theyre actually in a video game where you can kill things and enjoy yourself. A lot of people are so on edge about this gold thing and i really cant relate. Its almost humorous to me, really. But, to each their own. I would be completely miserable if all i did was worry about the D3 economy all day.

A lot of people have forgotten there was an AWESOME patch, which i just got to try out for the first time.

Very typical. And wtf is a casual fuddy duddy. Its diablo 3. There is not a competitive bone in its body. The people who talk about being competitive in this games are the ones who couldnt cut it in real competitive games. The competition seems to be who can get the most gold. How exciting.

Agreed. I am not exactly sure what these guys thought would happen while they did this. Obviously they are "elite" players if they are streaming all the time, so why would you purposefully do something to put yourself at risk? How are these guys not the most hated people in the D3 universe right now? They have completely derailed the game for the time being because no one knows what is going to happen. A bug was missed, these cool kids took advantage of it and ruined it for everyone.

And just a quick vent- I've been checking the official forums for updates periodically and I have no idea how some of the posters on there even get dressed everyday, if they do. Most of them demanding a roll back sound like they cant even tie their own shoes. Its such a ragefest on there of guys repeatedly saying theyre quitting. Its a joke. I am not really sure how you can keep saying youre quitting (some have even said they quit MONTHS ago, wtf?), yet keep posting. The world is so full of drama queen kids nowadays.

    +1....fuck the noise.

The patch is a giant step forward, despite the setbacks and glitches.

Definitely. Love the GAMEPLAY so far, which to me greatly overshadows the mess with the gold. The coop is awesome, despite having to play with 3 randoms since ive run out of RL friends in there lol

Edit- definitely seems like the fact a great patch has gone live has been lost in all the rage over the auction house. Really disappointing.

This is probably something that dev should have asked QA to test. I'm not necessarily saying it's QA's fault, but it is definitely somebody's fault. Don't they have test case reviews where people are supposed to point out things which need to be tested? If so, why wasn't one of them "sell a large amount of gold and then cancel it to make sure the refund works properly"? Somebody clearly dropped the ball here.

@Mamba: We don't know. I think Blizzard will find some way to resolve this. I just can't say for sure what it will be yet. It appears that they are trying to avoid rolling back, and it sounds like at least some paypal transactions are being rolled back, but we have no real way to know right now.

That's not how you do QC. You test the things that have changed in that patch. The RMAH had no changes.

Didn't they change the gold limit for auctions? I mean that's the whole reason this dupe was possible. They fiddled with the AH and created some overflow error. They didn't bother testing and here we are.

I just don't like when we 100% blame Blizz, when it's the greedy exploiters whom are to blame for taking advantage. I hope they all get perma-banned, chars wiped....fucking gone. Whatever it is about the nature of people like this, they never seem to grasp the concept of consequence.

I say...make an example out of them and destroy their accounts with the same disregard that these players attempt to destroy our game.

How do i come back to a game? Seriously, people are reaching so hard lately.

Ive quit A LOT of games and have gone back to play them again. A LOT. Its common. You get bored, you move on, you may or may not return to it later. Every game has an end.
