posted a message on Why are there no +skill enchants on popular builds?

because skill damage is additive with itself, and it requires a few slots to actually get any noticeable increase in output, also, in order to get some specific skill enchantments, you must give up key stats on items that you really don't want to be giving up, like on chest for example, you are forced to drop one very key defensive stat in order to get a skill bonus, not ideal.

cleared 52 on my tal wiz without unity, pushing 54-56 atm, so i guess it just comes down to rift type, and gear /build setup.

posted a message on PTR Drops Question

when PTR was first started, the season only items were not season tagged, so you could obtain them as either season 2 characters, or non seasonal characters, after the first major patch of the PTR they force closed season 2 and started season 3 on PTR, which also removed the season only items from the loot table for non seasonal characters, so unless you obtained them at the beginning of the PTR cycle, you will need to level up a season 3 hero on PTR and obtain all the items normally that way (which i wouldn't advise with only a week to go until the patch hits live servers).

Nice video; however, I don't really see the point in using arcane orb, since MM + Mirrorball are way more effective, while at the same time reducing the cd on Slow Time. You could pick Magic Weapon - Force weapon instead for the overall dps increase, as well as replace the weapon for a devastator to get the extra fire dmg. I'm also not sure if the Energy Twister bracers are better than the usual Black Hole + Strongarms combo...

i decided to use arcane orb - scorch, because it deals a nice amount of damage up front, plus at the correct range, the explosion damage is pretty powerful, and the dot effect is nice inside the slow time bubble where it is amplified, as for the weapon choice, you would be insane not to run gesture of orpheus, 50-70% base reduction on slow time cooldown, for free, not including any further CDR you already have, myh cooldown on slow time is ~4 seconds with this wand and gear setup, so 2 casts and i can replace it again, using a devastator for some small amount of elemental damage isn't worth the loss of this huge utility.

i used it quite regularly, unfortunately, wicked wind graphically isn't very noticeable, especially when inside a slow time bubble where the colours get a bit blended together, but i can assure you i did use it frequently.

posted a message on Delsere's Magnum Opus build and gear set with video

here's a video i have put together with my first attempt at a build and gear setup for the new delsere's magnum opus gear set coming for wizards in 2.2.0

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu0evXgF65Q

it is a build i pondered over a little bit, as it is very different to some of the more popular streamers/higher ranked wizards who rely entirely on magic missile for their damage output while inside the slow time bubble, mine differs in that it uses 2 AP spenders as well as having magic missile as a third major damage source that is also free to cast.

any questions about the build/gear please ask and i'll do my best to answer, hope you enjoy the video, i'll be making more with my thoughts on the gear set after i have done more testing with it, and give my opinions on it as a viable gear set for the wizard class.

    Quote from educationx»

I would like to see more affixes that are actually dodge-able. Good that they remove the perma-immunity. About the Tiklandian Visage: Either nerf it or give something similar to a Wizzard or a Barb, so a zDPS WD isn't mandatory to clear 50+ gRifts :)

wizards already had something, it was called the CM perma freeze build, that blizzard removed from the game because they were "unhappy that wizards could make boss encounters/high level gameplay too easy for a group", yet they seem perfectly happy to let any tom dick and harry do the self same sodding thing, it exacerbate me to no end the amount of bullshit coming out the D3 dev team at times.

you will not be able to play neither cindercoat nor magefists with delsere's set, it's a 6 part, and the helmet will be the one which makes time warp all runes.

Plus, there will be other new legendarys, and skill changes/balance. Remember it's a major patch.

You, and everyone else are vastly VASTLY overestimating the value of that helm.

Would you rather have enemies take 10% more damage (additive with force weapon, glass cannon, and most other buffs in the game)?

Or would you rather have 50% more hydra damage?

or would you rather have 20% fire damage and 30% Resource cost reduction?

Actually I thought about it and it does not look that way. The rune we want the most on our slow time is probably casting it wherever we want. So the additional benefits of that helmet are: 3s lower cd, 80% slow instead of 60%, 10% more dmg taken by enemies, 3s (!!!) stun whenever an enemy enters or leaves the bubble and 10% as increase for ppl inside it. If you can manage to stand inside one bubble and shoot to monsters in another, the as+dmg taken buffs are better than 20% fire increase (right now cindercoats reduction does not do anything as we won't be using arcane power, this will hopefully change), you already have 20 from sojand maybe 20 from devastator which along with the sunkeeper are looking like bis weapons for mm fire build right now, so it actually is a 14% dmg increase and it probably won't work on the 1250/s bubble dmg (which is not that high but still it's some damage). I'm not saying the helmet will be absolute bis and nothing can even compare but right now I would not use magefist or cindercoat, which are the best fire items and I found very good ones, instead of it with delsere. The added utility is too much. Well, we have to wait for the ptr anyway ^^

the effect of "time and space" has been baked into the base skill, so that rune is no longer a problem, as slow time can be cast anywhere freely without a rune choice, so the helm may or may not be worth using now.

yes, i encounter this problem very regularly in greater rifts, not so much normal rifts however, but yeah, when i'm pushing tier 46 i just quit the rift if i see any fallen/fallen firemages, can't be dealing with it, every second counts and i haven't got the inclination to deal with immortal minions because blizzard can't code properly it seems.

    Quote from lMarcusl

Without the AH, 90% of the game is down.
What are people going to do now, grind for garbage gear?

Sometimes, the idiocy of certain members of the playerbase leaves me speechless. This is not the case. If AH is the reason some people are playing the game, then they can fuck off and die of boredom for all I care. I thought games were played for fun, not for spending 90% of the time sitting in some menu obtaining virtual items without going through the fun of earning them. It's one of those (many) days when I wish the AH wasn't in existence at all. That way people like this wouldn't pollute the community and the forums with crap like this.

all i'm reading in this response is "if people don't play the game like i do, they suck and should all be shot for making "MY" game sub standard", newsflash, thousands of people play diablo not only for the gameplay of melting demon faces, but to also play the AH to get the best gear they can afford, for as little gold investment as possible, i think the term would be "mini game", just because you don't personally like it, doesn't mean others don't, stop being such a whiny waste of space, with no concept of other players, if everybody was like you, the game would have died a long time ago.
