    In most of the past seasons, I've tried (for the most part successful in most seasons) to do all the conquests on SC then HC to appease the completionist in me.


    Sprinter\Speed Runner are interesting however you almost 'need' somebody to run through with you unless you get optimal gear right away. Thing is, when rerolled the gear is basically trash afterwards.


    On a Good day\I can't stop (lvl65 gems) is a simple progression only conquest, one of the simpler to do


    BossMode\Worlds apart (20min to kill all bosses) is very fun with an organised group


    Years of War\Dynasty (GR55 with 6 sets) is a fun but time consuming challenge (as stated above) IMHO.


    The set dungeons, that's where i usually stop, S10 won't be an exception either.


    Bagstone: Again, thankyou for your efforts to create the tracker app, very useful.

    - The Act 5 in Paths of the Drowned, Cursed Peat chest is the best for this conquest. It spawns mainly Boggets [sp] and have very low life so can spawn them very quickly.

    - UE DH would be your best setup to get the conquest.

    - Also, try in group.

    From my own experience, the 350 chest is hands down best suited for the UE DH. In S6, I saw (I believe) Bell Monks clearing the 350 albeit later in the season with relative ease. Arachyr WD set dungeon is the easiest set dungeon of the gifted sets, Nats is a very close 2nd easiest (again, only my opinion). Barb Imortal Kings is also very straight forward and should complete\master in 3-4 tries max.The rest, only my opion, required a bit more effort (looking at you specifically Uliana's) I spend the time between seasons (s7-s8) running all non-completed dungeons with my NS chars., Nats being one of them and I completed with plenty of time left. Arachyr, I mastered with a Plvl 350'ish WD with low-average gear the 2nd run. It's very straight forward and should be able to get over with in 2 possibly 3 runs through max. There are empty areas of the map to leave alone so you can waste a bit of time the first time through. When I mastered the Barb IK back in S6, think was plvl 300-350 when I mastered it. Think only took 3 or fewer runs through. Vyr's, plays closer to the playstyle in the real game than any other dungeon in the game. The Seeker of Light set dungeon was 'ok' to play (not frustrating) however didn't master.


    For the 2nd conquest, I had no issue last season getting the gr75 clear completed with the HT WD build. Was approx plvl 600. Took a while to get the Sacred Harvester and even longer for the ancient to roll at Kadala which is essential for the garg build. I expect the same timeline S8, this assuming no major changes rollover from season patch or updates. LGems were all 70'ish so that took a bit of time to roll up, and had about 1/2 the gear ancient and augmented up to the 70's


    I cannot comment on the other conquests as I have never managed to master 4 of any class set dungeons, even in NS so Seasonal is out of reach for me. The gr55 clear with 6 sets 'may' be possible if you roll 3 or more characters however gearing and gemming all with be time consuming.


    Have never attempted the boss kills in 20 mins either. I have seen guides (here especially) stating that it's very doable solo, may give this a whirl once I get some speed gear accumulated.


    Kinda 'wish' the 3x lvl 65 gems and the 45 no set challenges would return however they aren't scheduled so shouldn't dwell.


    You may also notice i dwelled on the set dungeons. This is a thron in my side for the journey. They stand very much in the way of progress so they have their own place in where I choose the gifted sets.


    I usually see the journey stages divided up as follows:

    Level 1-70. If lucky, get pl'ed early on

    Get the gifted sets

    Master the set dungeon

    Finish the timed rifts

    Finish the conquests

    Finish the conqueror

    Enjoy the rest of the season

    Roll HC, try for a couple HC conquests, if possible

    Torn between WD (for the easiest set dungeon) and DH (for the 350 chest kills conquest). WD worked extremely well for me S7, most likely that will be my starter then migrate to DH to finish the season.

    From what I recall from S6, UE DH and Uliana's monk reigned supreme on the Curses\Stars Align (HC) conquest. I had rolled barb, to me was impossible until I grouped with 3x UE DH's in which they destroyed the 350 with about 500 or so kills.

    Given that 'Masters of the Universe' has returned, only gonna 'assume' that Set Dungeon mastery is a returning requirement <dang> as well.

    I see I am not alone in my 'lack of passion' for the cursed set dungeons. I took WD for S7 as hadn't played that class in over a year. Arachyr's set dungeon ranks as easy as Barb IK and Crusader Invoker (your opinion may differ though). WD no set was also very simple.


    I also base the choice on 2 or possibly 3 of the conquests. S8 is a first for me to do all of them (with WD).


    S5 I chose Wizard, ended up rolling a Crusader just to do the 45no set challenge and Invoker set dungeon. Just went for the stash and retired back to NS

    S6 chose Barb and DH for the 350 kills at chest conquest. This season played out better, stayed right to the end

    S7 chose WD based on comments for the set dungeon being easy. Found the whole journey was rather enjoyable, for the first time. In to the end as well.

    S8 most likely will go WD just to ensure I get the final stash quickly. Not sure about after gaining the stash, NS chars need a lot of TLC


    Each season I also created a HC char, just to play, not anything serious.


    This being said, we do not know what (or if) equipment will be updated. Hoping not too much of a surprise.

    I recently ran the 10 TX full bounties (for getting the avarice conquest) and only had 1 pet gob show up and noticed no more than 3 advertised for other players. It certainly 'feels' more rare for the menagerist goblin to show up this season vs S6.


    For the gibberling, cannot comment as skipped this season completely. I only had run that bounty once the whole time and Chiltara did not drop the gem.

    HT WD is easy run for the stash, gifted set so you are off to the race quickly.

    Use Archrys for the Set dungeon, ezpz for mastery, should take only 2-3 tries max to complete\mastery. Requires little extra gear.

    Do the 65LGem, 45no set is also a breeze.


    And done.

    The 4.1% will not help after lvl70. You will be MUCH further ahead to use the Amethyst (purple) gem for additional life or diamond (grey) gem for cool down reduction (CDR). All the others are practically useless in the helm slot and have been for a long time.

    3 gems to 65 should be your first conquest, you are almost there.


    As others have said, join the one of the Conquests communities. Either farm Paths of the Drowned (Act 5) for the Cursed Peat bounty or join when somebody is LFG. DH's (multiple builds) destroy that conquest easily. The 2min TX run is best suited for the open maps as you spam multiple groups of monsters at once. Soloing gr75 takes a bit of time but is doable by all classes (with the right gear\ability setups).

    I've only found 3 so far however have had goblins of one sort or another (damn you treasure goblins!!) spawn practically everytime I go to:


    Royal crypts (Act 1)

    Western Channel (Act 2)

    Eastern Channel (Act 2)

    Southern highlands / Cave of the moon clan lvl 1+2 (A 1)

    Northern highlands / Leoric's grounds.

    Pandemonium 1 (act 5)

    Frost cave (When it spawns) in the bridge zone (A3)

    Regarding Bagstone's points above, that holds very true for me in the HC mode. Have a HC Barb I haven't looked at since S4. Also have a HC Sader from S5, as well hasn't been out of town since the start of S6. I have several decently rolled Ancestor's Grace ammies in that stash which are pretty much useless to me in S HC. My HC S6 DH is so weak I really wouldn't mind a boost from that gear which is pretty useless at this point. All the gear is pretty much hanging in limbo here. Too good to salvage as could still be rolled to decent stats, have room available in stash anyways so not about to burst at the seams.


    I find myself back in SC normal mode between seasons however it feels like I was vacationing on the moon for several months as those developed chars feel rather clunky as they are not optimized and have already rolled stats to match the meta of past eras.

    One thing I do not understand is the seeming obsession with the cosmetic hoarding this season (haven't played NS so not sure what the momentum is over there).


    Essentially, they do absolutely nothing however people seem to flock to them like they're the new found BiS item of all time. Sure, it's a new pet or transmog or whatever, add zip zero ziltch for making the game better. I have 4 pets now, why get more? Every single one you have does exactly the same thing (pick up gold). If one type gathers gold, another gathers globes, then of course get them all and use for your situation\needs of the moment. Couldn't care less about the wings or pennants, they are just in the way and distract (ie gold wings from pre order ROS). Portrait frame? Sure, show your level of completion in the season or if you bought OW, completed lvl 70 in old seasons or hit level 20 in HotS.


    I think this sends a message to Blizz that crap content patches are awesome and no new real worthwhile additions are required if people will accept crap as the new best thing since sliced bread. I remember when Seasons was about getting new items ahead of NS, this was a great concept.....


    Perhaps I am gravely mistaken however it's what I currently perceive.

      • Going for it, albeit slow (although not intentionally) just like I did S5 ~more or less 6 weeks to complete, 60'ish hours ingame time

      • S4 (last month of season), S5 Seasons (all 3 months), previously NS exclusively

      What's your reason to play season or non-season in 2.4.1, respectively?
        Stash space, nothing else
    • What factors are most important for your decision (what streamers do, what your clan does, what your friends list does, where the perceived majority of players is, where leaderboards are easier to reach/more contested, or what this poll tells you ;-))?
      • Stash then dash
      • If history is a teacher, HC NS will be completely dead (NA servers) so will pug for this side of the game
      • SC is fairly even on NS and S so will go seasons til journey (Conqueror) is completed
      • Clan usually drops out when they get their stash, mainly solo\pugs for me afterwards

    Ability to ID all ancients at once (Cains ledger) -> Huge QoL improvement

    Ability to salvage all white, blue and yellows in your backpack with one click each -> Huge QoL improvement

    Buff gem drop frequency, remember when Topaz were super rare? -> Huge QoL improvement

    Add use for Death Breath -> Farming improvement

    Added additional stacking for Parts, Dust and Crystals (from 100-5000) -> Huge QoL improvement

    Stash tabs were slowly added from Vanilla, which start with 3 tabs and had to buy each row-> HUGE QoL improvements

    Boon of the hoarder and Greed's realm, I was always broke before this was implemented -> Huge QoL improvement

    New Goblins have been added from several patches + Bandit shrine

    Removal of rock worms in Rifts and Grifts

    Many new sets introduced for each class (RoS)

    Crusader class (RoS)

    Share-agon (RoS)


    Wasn't paragon added originally with 1.0.8 (or so), capped at lvl 60\100 in its original state?

    I already said, that I didn't stand for all the classes. The DH was mainly made by fst, killstepz and partly in cooperation with Philos.

    I'm NOT a super-human, so stop think that. NOBODY is Perfect. I mainly stood for 2 classes, which alone is ALREADY A LOT. I stood for the CRUSADER and WIZARD builds, which turned out pretty good and I KEPT updating them the whole season which is why they are still top builds.

    How about being thankful for something that was made for free for you, if your too good then do NOT use it. Stay away if you got nothing useful to say. Make your own thread named; "I love to flame and troll people, because I'm bored CLUB".

    For what it's worth, so many of us appreciate your guides and fully understand that you can only guess-timate like the rest of us not in the know of things at Blizzard. For the most part that I have seen, you are bang on with the skill trees and builds along the way. Sadly, some people do not see or understand the tremendous effort required to do all the background work and effort to write such terrific readable guides for the 99.99% of us that do not theorycraft or go to the extreme with non tested gear combinations. Even the newest player can look at your well thought out and presented guide and have an easier time with the journey to 70 and far beyond.

    Crusader is your fastest, you do not need to be fully ancient set or ancient legendary to progress. I am able to easily plevel 3x people in HC and am below plevel 300 with mostly non-ancient gear. If you do decide, your priority on gear is THORNS, CDR, MAINSTAT (not necessarily in this order). You want a fast 1 hander (pig sticker, hack or doombringer) and gem with topaz. Leorics crown with diamond (CDR) and str gems in rest of gear will be a great starter.

    So far, I have been in 4 dungeons:

    Firebird: You need to use a weapon 400k or less due to one of the challenges. It seems to be around the T4 range

    Tal Rasha: Killing mobs not too difficult, could be easier\quicker if you have ancient gear. Seems to be around the T3-4 range

    Vyr's: As above, Killing mobs not too difficult, could be easier\quicker if you have ancient gear. Seems to be around the T3-4 range

    Invokers: This one was much easier than the Wiz dungeons above. Seems to be T3 or less.


    Tried the wizard on SC, 350'ish Plevel, cookie cut build used each dungeon, no ancient gear

    Tried the crusader on HC, 190'ish Plevel, mostly thorns build, couple ancient gear


    Confirm you cannot die in HC mode however I did not wear the moritorium gem.

    1) Available in Seasons mode only, create new char

    2) Level to 70 (gets first 2 pieces)

    3) Kill Zultan Kulle in Torment 2 or higher difficulty (gets 3rd & 4th pieces)

    4) complete greater rift 20 (gets remaining pieces)

    I have read (no source available) that there is an issue with wearing the Moratoriam gem with a HC char in the set dungeons. This is the gem that causes damage to be split and dished out over 'x' seconds. This can kill you. Just remove and use an alternate gem in the set dungeon. As far as I know, this has not been patched. I also believe it can kill any class\build.

    Use TnT with M6 even if the main stat is not dex. Sentries benefit as companions so damage is greatly increased. Hopefully, you have the royal ring of grandeur to get the 6piece bonus.

    I heard the chain from Maximus gets buffed, however unsure what is actually classed as a 'Pet'. As well,spiders are not considered pets, from what I have read. I'm editing the list above as the notes come in. Hoping to maintain to be as current\correct as possible.

    I assume this has been asked 1000 times however searching came up with nothing. Does anybody have a list of all pets that TnT boosts for each class?


    ie:
    WD - Fetishes, Dog, Garg
    DH - Spider, Boar, Wolf, Sentries - Is the raven (from Raven's Wing bow a pet or just there for the ride?)
    Barb - Ancients
    Wiz - Familiar, Hydra
    Monk - Mystic Ally
    Sader - Phalanx

    Weapons:
    Maximus - chain + demon
    Bovine Bardiche - Cows
    Genzaniku - Fallen Champ

    Is there another link with the list? Sorry for reinventing the wheel, just couldn't locate.

    I'd actually prefer if we could go away from stash tabs at all and have an armory, maybe a building in town. Where I can store my stuff. You can have a shelf for armors, helms, gloves... a rack for weapons or shields, a jewelry box. You can also buy mannequins, and transfer a complete gear setup there (with skills). You could give these mannequins names like "fire super wizard"... just imagine, you use your char, go to the armory, click the mannequin you want and you get automatically redressed and skilled...

    ...or you just salvage everything...

    If you have found the legendary plans for the Blacksmith, there could be options to have him forge set items (Auguild, Asheras, Guardians etc etc) as well as several viable legendary armour and weapons of all types. These plans also drop randomly in all areas of the game.

    The same holds true for the Gold find\Magic find gem buffs. May be good to use with low level characters (or having under 1Mil gold to work with), higher difficulty levels rely much more on %life added or %cool down reductions.

    For the upgrades, is it 3x attempts per leg gem or only 3 allowed for ever? If you hit the 3 upgrade limit, does it reset if you drop the gem(s) with 3 attempts and find a new gem?

    Appreciate the comments.

    - Many times I also found myself AH hunting only, just to win auctions and not even bothering to get into a game. Can i honestly say I 'play' the game since the removal of AH and 2.0\RoS implementation? No, as I am pretty sure most players could answer the same. I do not have stats to backup this comment however I for one haven't looked at that 'other' mode of play since I finished Act 5 back in March. I now exclusively run RiF, bounty runs and the odd KeyWarden run up to the Ubers. My characters have been all reset inCampaignmode, no desire to run from the start to the end again.

    - Agree to that crafted items could use an improvement. Not necessarily to match the level\stats of end game rare items however a provide bit better than current state would be a step in the right direction.

    - Play a little, sit a lot to improve. Honestly, didn't really think about doing that again, great point, no offense taken. Valid point.

    - Technically speaking, the old AH code is what I was suggesting for the 'new' vendor. Worked as designed before, just reworked for a new NPC and currency sink.

    - "Lost my stuff QQ's". Didn't think of this, yes, this could possibly take the internet down....

    Just had a quick thought. We all know about the hoards of unusable gear we find every minute.

    How about create a new vendor you 'sell' the unwanted item to. This pays you a new currency, ie Platinum Pieces. You gain a PP for each item sold. Say 1 PP for rare, 2 for legs, 3 for set items (or perhaps a quantity for unwanted gems?). The item stock is real time, meaning each item is 'sold' to the vendor is only available until sold. Item then disappears when bought. Nobody can profits unfairly, item is paid with in-game currency to the vendor only. You can buy the item back if not sold for the price you received when selling.There is no currency exchange or interaction between the selling & buying player. Players can 'try' to setup a quick transaction but run the risk of someone else being quicker on the buy it now button. Perhaps have a 5 min time lag to become available to prevent this type of swapping (?)

    Then, introduce the old AH viewer back to quickly unload all your unwanted gear, viola 2 birds fixed with 1 fell swoop :()



    Thoughts\criticisms\suggestions?

    I think AH\trading could (re)damage the game. How about this. Player gambles and finds a super rare item, lets call it Kridershot for an example. This player already has one however the new one not an upgrade and sells it back to a vendor. This makes the rarity 1 'tick' less on the regional market. Then other player(s) @ Kadala gamble for a 2-hander (or 1-hander) weapon (etc) have a slightly higher chance to get one. This way, it only impacts RNG in a slightly higher positive chance of outcome for a predetermined time period for all players. Chance pool resets for 'Kridershot' after say 15 min or so. Item must be sold, not salvaged to increase the RNG increase.

    Even 'storing' mats with the vendors would be a benefit (IMHO), similar to the shards line on our inventory page except this be in a vendor dialog page. We are spending the mats there anyways, just deduct from the total when we use. Would certainly free up stash space OR simply remove the stack limit in the inventory 'square' (for lack of better vocabulary) of 100 so all of 1 mat type is one space vs # / 100. I have >300 rift frags, therefore 4 spaces are used up. 1 (obviously) would be better...

    I'll try to elaborate my 'suggestion' above. If you have not yet found a new legendary gem, who knows what the drop rate will be. My thought by having the opportunity to merge 2 top level gems (ie the +280 cc, green + 280 damage, red), would give a bit of choice using the legacy class gems. Not limited to green and red, diamond +% against elites with amethyst +% LoH is a possibility also . This would be on top of whatever base stats\procs (etc)the amulet\ring already has AND something to look for after you create the top level gem of two or more types.

    I for one do not have decent legendary\set items fall from the sky. Can take days - weeks to get something decent enough to call a 'replacement' to my existing gear. I could farm bounties endlessly and have several mediocre drops, Tyreals and goldskin comes to mind. I have 100's of gems of each type and most likely will never use, many amulets and rings not used. Would relish the idea of punching a socket into them and combining 2 gems to make a decent piece of jewelry gear. Is this boring, perhaps. No less boring than grinding for a couple hours and finding nothing but trashlegendaryI suppose.

    After reading all the thoughts others have for the new legendary gems, sounds like they may indeed become the next be-all end-all for ammy and rings sockets. Barring, if what is written is the final product. RNG of course is another factor. Some players may have them rain from the sky, others may go weeks on end without ever seeing 1.

    Wonder if using the current gems and changing them so you can actually have Covetous Shen [sp] combine\merge the top level gems is a decent way to go for ammy and ring (only) sockets? Update ammy\ring sockets to be the same as Weapon affixes. After all, who wouldn't want a combined Flawless Royal red with the green for 280 CC + 280 damage in an ammy and\or ring! Would it be a 'do I even consider a removal for the legendary replacement' moment? Would cost a small fortune for a one time combo forge and no back out gems split to 2 pieces) once completedhowever if you have the funds would be a way to revitalize the 'classic' gems for ammy and ring sockets.

    Would these be too good, bottomless money pit?

    I like the idea of the Gem sets affects, ie 1+1 =3 (etc).

    I would also like to see a 1 time use gem that if socketed when salvaged gives extra forgotten soul(s) or 10x gold (based on sell value of item) or even XP based on the type of loot being trashed. Obviously, only good when salvaging legendary or set items.

    Another 1 time use gem idea could be if socketed makes the item tradable to any player at any time. The gem is destroyed when the other player picks the item up so it's a one time deal only. Example: I find Jade pants today. 2 weeks from now, I encounter a player that needs the pants for the complete set. I add the gem, drop it. The other player picks it up, the gem disappears and they have the complete set.
