Me? I always feel drawn to the caster pet classes and the classes with a hint of death/disease/dot/poison kinds of damage. The witch doctor fits the bill perfectly. Wish he stood a little more straight though.
Why do you main your witch doctor? And if you dont? Why do you do...do what you do?
The unfortunate reality here is that he's kind of right. Efficiency is indeed the way to go. But as for us inventor type, It's more about knowing that there's this single set that the game explicitly places out for your class to interact such as the Jade set for WD's, or Marauders for DHs. But then the fun part comes from how bonuses can interact and create symbiotic relations with each other.
Firebirds is awesome. Wizards needs their sets to actually enable them to compete with other classes in the higher torments in terms of raw damage output.
I usually stick with the same archtype throughout RPG games. Dark caster...so WD has always had the coolest effects in the game to me. It's just my biggest issue is the JH set is so good in comparison to any other set for WD, that they all seem so boring. As long as im hitting for 350-400m every 10 seconds, it's kind of hard to beat that with the other builds. However, maybe the God's will allow me a SMK once season 1 starts.
Just trying to get an idea of what everyone plans to take up first in 2.1. Everyone has their "favorite" current character, but is it favorite enough to re-level again? Or do you plan to take a different approach and main something else?
So let's hear it! What so far with current knowledge do you expect to be your main in 2.1?
I...think I might go with my WD, however, not having JH is hard to go back to.
I'd love to know what you all think. I think SoH is currently better seeing as it procs sooo much off spamming haunt into a large group. Then following it up with SB for single target dmg on elites. However, I'm unsire if the 17% cold damage would work better with my skills since I do primarily use all cold damage aside from Lotus.
Also, I'm not sure if Its a bug or not, but it appears that SoH also procs on Haunts individual ticks.
Hello, I recently got to 70 with my WD and am able to easily clear master and normally t1. However, T1 does seem to give me some difficulties if even a single person joins the game because I dont have the survivability to handle it all the time. What annoys me it seems is my friends Barb is able to go full damage and just survive through the awesome procs in his passives alone (spending fury). I get the feeling that a Witch Doctors damage isn't really seen on the character sheet since so much of it is through pets and abilities that maximize pet damage...
Hello everyone! I finally was able to get ahold of RoS a couple of days back. Got my WD to 70 and have been loving it. Adventure mode is a blast...Crusader is 68 but he feels a little bit on the weaker side with those long CDs.
Anyways, I'm here to ask, after a couple months in, how is everyone doing and what build or class have you fallen in love with? Around a month ago, I posted another poll similar to this asking about favorite class post RoS. Wizard and Crusader seemed to top the charts, let's see if its different now that mostly everyone has experienced multiple max level classes.
By current main, I dont need mean most hours total, just simply what is the class you can't get off of.
Hi! I had created one of these before with the 2.0 patch and it went over fairly well. Now that most...if not all of you are enjoying act 5, which class do you feel is your favorite currently?
I actually didn't start playing my Wizard until today. Totally loving Frozen Orb! Now just to really dig into the Wizard class since pre-patch I just leveled one to 60 and stopped.
lol I'm completely the opposite. While i still love my Wiz, my barb has become my new main. lovin my boulder toss build and seeing these 25m crits.
Well i think part of the problem is minion classes are very passive and fit a specific niche of players. With the WD, you can have pets and such and still have the extra oomph to your character that makes you feel like you're more than just a group of pets. People like to see big numbers, and it's hard to make a class that the revolves around having a small army...but still is balanced in terms of survivability, damage, and fun. It'd be like playing starcraft in a diablo game. It could be done im assuming, but then you'd have either a very OP class thats able to survive purely off having minions do all the work...or a very under powered class that without it's minions can't function. Both of which i believe would ultimately end up being very passive. The problem with just reintroducing the necromancer is the poison part of it was already kind of given to the Witch Doctor in a lot of forms. Again, Blizzard could likely implement a necro class or such that has the ability to have a very pet centric build, but i feel it would be quite passive. Unless blizzard included a way for the pet class to be somewhat like 0dogs for WD was.
Played WW/Hota Hybrid, Wep Throw, 2H Rend, Frenzy Tank (release).
Post: Barb
Playing WW (wind shear), Hota/Stun build, Boulder Toss spec,
I love the Barb and even after the Wrath changes hes still easily the best class imo. WW wind shear is amazing and words can't describe how insane Boulder toss is... can't wait for March 25th.
Imo the people that abandoned the barb are scrubs and were only a Barb because infinite Wrath was broken. Ive been a barb when we did nothing but Frenzy tank with a shield on release and Ill be a barb until they delete the class.
That's awesome. Honestly i've never been able to play barb past like a couple levels. Always felt clunky to me in comparison to Monk. Witch Doctor was always a good friend of mine though, even if he is super squishy and has that annoying squat. Why oh why cant he just stand straight up like a normal person?
It's absolutely great to see everyone enjoying so many new builds and really enjoying the classes for what they were meant to be. It was boring only have the maximum build paths but now with all the legendary affixes, cdr, and paragon system, people are really able to experiment and try new things and kind of make themselves into the hero they want to be. I love it. Absolutely cannot wait to play on my ps4. When I say I cannot wait, I mean, my laptop can't run diablo 3, I don't have the money for a pc, and I think about playing diablo 3 every. single. day.
I guess I should have included Crusader as an option. I have a good feeling a lot of people are just kind of messing around on alts while waiting to see if Crusader fits their fancy...but at the same time powering up that special back up alt...just in case Crusader isnt for them.
