Does crafting max level gems from self found gems wield any profit?Posted in: Hardcore Discussion
Based on current tome prices (10k each) my guess is i'd be better off selling the tomes then using them to craft.

About the PK stuff: Start your own games

What you can do is start looking for gear that has this kind of stats:Posted in: Hardcore Discussion
One random res stats (for one with everything)
Extra defensive adds like life regen, life%, armor
Because of the lack of primary stats, they will be rather cheap (20-40k / item)
Look for a nice LoH item, they come cheap if without a socket.
So you should be set with about 500k
Then stroll into some MP games and just tank it out while the others dps
Your key skill: Cyclone strike with whichever run suits you. You just pull everything to you, people love you for it.
Build would look like this: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#afXSkg!UcY!aaYYbb
Mantra of conviction: Dishearten - makes it easier for the others as the mobs wont scatter af fast (can go with overawe if it suits you better)
Sweeping wind: Inner storm - for that spirit you will need :P
Breath of heavens; Infused with light - your damage will be low so the extra 15% wont help, the extra spirit however...
Serenity: tranquility: to save a teammate from certain death
One with everything : mandatory
Chant of resonance: for that regen
Transcendence: some sustain for yourself
By al means, this is a poor man's monk, but it is effective at what it does (group play / tank role) and is pretty easy to play when just gearing up. Depending on your gear you can do anywhere from act1 inferno to act3
Hope this helped

My monk just died at lvl 48 in Inferno act IV.
I just went to the 1st quest with the little black crawlers. I got stuck between like 60 of them and i couldnt do anything. Any tips from you guys how I could have prevented this?
I just got level 48 before Act 4, and I changed the healing mantra rune to the one with 10% vitality and never thought about it. Therefore I had the 95LoH rune, I personally think that cost me my character.
My life was 28000, damage was 1100 and 50Allresist. Maybe the low damage had something to do with it as well.
Now starting a new HC char.
ps. dont underestimate the 1st battle Act 4
First of all, you didn't die in inferno. In fact since you were level 48 you were probably in nightmare.
You were locked in by mobs. It happens. Sweeping wind would kill them. Wave of light would kill them.
You spirit generators target multiple mobs.
Tempest rush would allow you to run trough the mobs.
The reason why you died is because the boss probably put a fire pool under you.
But with those stats (28k hp, 1100dps) you should have easely killed and survived...
