If you paid a couple hundred bucks to have a character that could breeze through Act III on MP 3 or 4 and find millions of gold worth of gear, you could sell the gold and make back the money you put into the game and be ahead of the guy that decided to grind for months to get to where you are currently.

That's the sad part: that this is actually a motivator.

    And it works :)

I'd say that's debatable. That sort of mindset has ramifications that go well beyond the realm of gaming.

And even with the best gear in every slot, at something crazy like 800k DPS AND survivability clearing MP10 all day, its still random, and you could potentially never make more than a few dollars back. Thats a lot to invest in the market of a game that falls every week (on average the gold prices on the RMAH have fallen by 1.5 cents per week, and will hit the minimum of 25 and stay there very soon. *already hit .25 last weekend, europe is already sitting at .25)

EDIT: and also, don't think that just because the minimum is 25 cents that it will stop going down at that point. Websites will continue to offer better and better deals as more and more bots saturate the game, and nothing is done about them.

As a little hint, the vast majority of the items on the RMAH can be purchased cheaper for the GAH if you simply buy gold, then find the same or equivalent item on the latter.

I wont pretend to have read all of this, so I apologize if this has already been mentioned, but if your are financially stable, I would consider it a little off to play diablo 3 every moment you aren't working to legitimately farm those items, when a few hours of work will just buy them for you. People that don't multi box and don't scam cant make more than a couple dollars a day off of diablo, whereas if you worked at a decent job for 2 weeks you could buy most of the gear you need to hit the top of the charts (although those 2 bil items are a little expensive) So one could argue that if they didn't enjoy killing the same monsters for weeks, but still wanted to enjoy feeling powerful within the games limits, buying said power would be the least painful way to accomplish that goal.

    Edited for added clarity!

The fact they have time to come onto Diablo 3 forums to talk about how they have lives is a good hint into how they actually live.

    Wait...hold on....huh?

So....you're taking a shot at him for posting on a gaming forum And claiming to have an active life (insinuating that he's a loser with too much time on his hands) yet you claim to make a living playing video games?

    How is what he said any different then the earlier comments you made ;

I make more playing Diablo 3 than any normal job
    .....while going to college
I make it from the comfort of my home

Watch out fellas....we got us a PLAYA ova hurrr

Killing 22,000 elites with a butchers sickle is enough to put anyone on tilt, I don't blame you. Also, I think the only one that felt belittled was you, and I'm getting the feeling you feel belittled a lot. Though I can't admit to having read all of your retorts. The whole "people no longer taking you seriously" part is still in effect.

If you still can have fun playing Diablo 3, and this isn't just another job for you, please disregard what I said. I didn't know people could enjoy this game.

Anyone that considers this a job is a fucking loser. Not aimed at anyone specifically....just "a guy telling the truth".

This thread, the OP, symbolize everything that is wrong with Diablo players in the modern age.

LOL, someone is a little frustrated. I make more playing Diablo 3 than any normal job I could get while going to college, and I make it from the comfort of my home, and I chose my hours. Calling someone a loser because they are capitalizing on a game blizzard intended to be capitalized is a little brazen and ignorant.

I bet you live in poor health.

On the other hand, I get to work with -real- people, I have everyday bump-ins with hot girls, and it's all out there. And I still manage to make enough money to get around, without hanging around behind my computer all day.

Come to think of it.. I'm off to the beach! :) Enjoy D3 guys ;D

You remind me of that over tanned douche meme with his girlfriend. Too bad i cant find it lol

The fact they have time to come onto Diablo 3 forums to talk about how they have lives is a good hint into how they actually live. BTW IRL im an FBI agent alien with lazer beam eyes. (that's my attempt at pointing out that anyone can say anything on the internet, it doesn't make it true)

Hating yourself is no reason to verbally (in a matter of words) attack others, it just makes you look immature, and everyone stops taking you seriously.

I know some things can get overly convoluted and confusing as we go further into the think tank, but I'm here to make one thing clear. If you have to stop at ANY point in time, other than to look at items and decide which are worth picking up, then you shouldn't be using monster power. The proof is in the numbers.

If the difference between farming MP0 and MP3 is that MP3 actualy challenges you and you have to spend any amount of time killing things beyond just walking through them, you should just be farming MP0, the bonuses of MP3 are EXTREMELY outweighed by the fact you are not moving nonstop.

For those of us with gear, it is best to find the monster power where you begin to stop while killing, then use 1 less. This will maximize your farm.

Ill repeat in all caps, USING MOSTER POWER IS ACTUALY NETTING YOU LESS FARM OVER ALL IF WHILE USING IT YOU HAVE TO STOP AT ---A N Y--- POINT IN TIME! (other than to look at items)

    Edit for clarification:

Wizards: this means anything beyond stutterstepping, and NEVER backtracking other than to pick up items

Monks: this means anything other than tempest rushing through everything and 1 shotting it

Barbs: this menas anything other than WWing ONCE through trash and it dying (this menas never having to WW back through)

Demonhunters: this means that the only time syou shouldnt be vaulting is when your 1 shotting things.

Wichdoctors: I have no idea how you play, but you should also never stop

posted a message on Storm Armor Proc Rate
With scramble having such a ridiculous requirement to proc, I believe it should be much more movement speed than it is tbh. It should either be 25% all the time, or like 75% when hit.

I am a CM wizard with an interdasting primary spell, I use shock pulse / living lightning, which has the benefit of moving the same direction they run, hitting them the whole time. It makes it much less painful.

would appreciate a rate or advice/tips on build
Pretty good gear, but not a whole lot of survivebility, I prefer to partake of the green and then zone out and only half pay attention, So I built way more EHP Psychatog#1575 US

Blizzard needs way more communication with their customers, but not about things like this. Bringing attention to it is the best you can do. But do not expect blizzard to talk with the masses about it, because they want stealth.
