Actually, the guy has a certain charisma about him and I can understand perfectly well why people like him. Equally so, I can understand why so many people do not like him.
I actually don't have a problem with him, per say. What bothers me is why some people DO like him. This whole troll/asshole worship thing seems to strike some young people the wrong way. I often wonder if his "fans" truly understand that his persona is not that of a fiery, taunting asshole when he switches off.
I just don't want to see this troll idolatry go too far. Young people should realize that if you treat people that way IRL when you grow up, you better be tough enough to eat bullets and shit lead, cuz if not, you're getting you're ass whopped.
I have watched some athene videos over the years. I'm not some subscribed super fan of his. but as far as I can tell, none of his videos display him as some douchebag or asshole. Please point me to some video where he is acting like a douchebag, because all I see is a guy acting silly all the time, just trying to be funny and having a good time with friends. Where are the videos where he is 'treating' people 'that way'?
I'm just trying to understand the hatred. What makes this guy a douchebag as opposed to... attacking someone's character because you don't enjoy his humor?
I'm seeing people confusing 'humor that they don't like' with 'douchebag'. People are free to not like his videos and free to say his 'humor' and his 'act' sucks..etc, but hating someone takes effort, putting someone down, needs justification, and I just don't see it. Maybe some people are just hateful for the sake of being hateful. so if by any chance, one of you can post a video, and explain the 'assholeness douchebaggery' of the video, would be nice. and if possible, try not to confuse 'opinion' with 'fact' while explaining it.
Using charity as a ploy to bolster your popularity is incredibly fucking selfish. Or rather, a symbiotic relationship with personal gain as a driving force.

getting people to donate to some charity he cares for is a noble thing. He knows he has some slight celebrity status, why not take advantage of it, there is nothing wrong with this when it is for the sake of doing something good. We might as well call every celebrity that has ever tried to get people to donate to anything are selfish assholes. you seem to like to confuse your hateful assumptions as if it were fact.
