posted a message on Finished with D3 - constant rubberband/AH issues/lack of enjoyment
Firstly, not a rage post, nor a "omg qq" post, as i really enjoyed playing this game (up until the last month).

Problems i've found - never get resolved:
    * Constant rubberbanding - even after i reformatted and wiped basically everything but the bare essentials from my computer, upgraded router and constant net checks - always rubberbanding occured (not every run, but enough to be inconsistent gameplay - issue has been around since 1.03 and blizzard dont' seem to care).
    * Lack of diversity - while the change to monster density seemed like a solid improvement and lifted my hopes for the first few weeks of release, there's nothing that is actually driving me to persue the farming adventure that is D3.
    * Constant problems with AH features - recently (last 3-4 weeks) i personally have noticed a massive increase in AH problems buying/selling, currently some items have a 72 hour delay when you "buy out" the item. How is that even possible, when you "buy out" the item it should be immediate. Once again blizzard put a bandaid on the problem saying it's "high traffic" however, i highly doubt that as more and more players exit this game every week.

I've had my fair share of fun (15+ hc barbs - all dead ^_^ 1x para 96 wd - top 10 dps HC worldwide) but until something new and creative comes in (that does not mean runewords/charms - that concept should stay in D2) then i probably wouldn't buy a expansion for D3.

I always have lost faith in the Blizzard team as they really don't have any enthusiasm to resolve issues. Just rather cover it up with a blue post and brush past it so they can focus on their next money making adventure, being console version.

To those who still enjoy the game - i wish you the best in your adventures.

I do enjoy reading these forums (most the time), and peoples concepts and sometimes a fresh build that looks enjoyable, so i'll still be hanging around like a bad smell ^_^

    Peace.

I realize the simple answer is bots but I see people quite often with a massive inventory of Legendary's, 42 Echos, 16 Mempos ect but I don't even understand how obtaining these EVEN with botting is obtainable.

Seven Hundred hours in, and this is being generous due to I want to average out the time I've been level 100, I actually have 1100 hours played and I've found an exact total of 1 Mempo and 5 Echoing fury's EVER.

It is mind boggling to think that this other guy, just finds that many more legendarys then I do! Its not just one or two people like I said, its all the time that I see these people with all of these legendarys that they're selling unid.

There just has to be something that I'm missing.
I've found about 4-5 mempos and 5-6 EF, however, never found a zuni chest/IK chest + many other high end legendaries. Guess it's luck

I'm trying to wrap my head around how they could possibly release a console version that they've said will have to have less loot on the ground due to the input method before they release the patch that makes it so that less loot drops but the loot that does drop is higher quality. Do they plan to just give console less of the current crappy loot, or pray that they can finish the itemization redesign before console starts getting high MF, or maybe less of the current loot but make it only roll high affix ranges? However they handle it, it will still be very weird for console owners to get a huge patch that completely changes loot right after they start playing instead of having it from the start.

I would assume they will bring the patch in after 2 months of console - mid november. While there is alot of "crappy" rares, atleast the quantity dropping will allow the players to either use these items, or gather materials for crafting.

Quick question on itemization, will they then change the crafting mat's required? Or increase the amount salvaged from items? I mean less rares/trash on ground = less crafting mats. Less crafting mat's + revamp in demonic essences dropping seems like it's going to be a round robin (with excess essences instead of no essences). Will be interesting.

The main problem as I see it is that they refuse to release anything before the big itemization patch.. is not like they release minor stuff now and then.. no, they maintain radio silence. It's frustrating.
So true :( dev blogs which were supposed to be more frequent never came, and it seems like nothing big will happen in the rest 2013 for D3, which is a huge letdown for me (I just wanted something).

The density changes were awesome, but hardly "content related" from my point of view. I want PvP, skill/rune balancing (for new fun builds), new Legendaries, new uber-like Quests :fret:

Let's leave the rubberbanding discussion for another thread, please.
And why is this? I mean, even if they successfully implement a "decent" expansion with maybe a new class/offsider/revamped legendaries .... if the RUBBERBANDING is still present, my gameplay will be hampered, hence bringing my frustration back to the level it currently is with the lack of enthusiasm from Blizzard to actually resolve a problem that has been present for lets say .... 6-8 months now?
Let's leave it for another thread firstly because it is off-topic. The interview and itemization have absolutely nothing to do with "rubberbanding", it's a completely different issue.

Secondly because no matter what, some people will always have issues with an online-only game. I've had a shitty internet for over 6 years before changing into my current ISP. The "signal to noise ratio" here improved from 1-5 snr to 35-45, at 6 times the previous speed.

I had rubberbanding before. Now I have none. So there's a very very big chance that most rubberbanding issues are caused by router/internet/isp issues, and there's not much Blizzard can do about that.
As you say, i will leave it for another "thread". I just wanted to get across a point. It's hilarious that people point the problem to "home bound" tangibles such as internet/modem etc. (this will be the last i post on this btw, just trying to make a point). Blizzard is always first to point the problem back to the consumers end, their Modem, their ISP etc etc. I'm aware of at least 10-20 other people on my friends list alone that play Barbs/Temp monks/CM Mages(with low MS) and they all experience rubberbanding from time to time.

As for me, mine is "sparatic" (time to time, not every run, but in some runs 3-5 times in 20mintues - not alot you say? MP5 HC and you have 2x champ packs? Its enough to make you shit your dacks ((undies for the uneducated))).

When it occurs - and you can tell it's imminate as no dmg is occuring - i'm inclined to press "pause" and alt tab to check my latency from an alternative source (not the ever trusty D3 latency that takes 2-3 minutes to update - great mechanic). Suprisingly i'm stable, 20-30 ms and have been for 20+ minutes. Then i guess the finger pointing goes to the PC, that i can also assure you is not the problem. While if i play a WD, that has basic 12% MS it's fine. Jump on a WW barb and then you get it. So i'm throwing the blanket over the "MS issue" causes the rubberbanding. "Then play with less MS ..." - heard this 100+ times, but why should i? It's currently a strong mechanic for the game, and if blizzard didnt want it, they would remove it. However, they can't resolve the issue that is based around it?

Anyways, that's my 2 cents on the issues/theories. As for old mate saying "leave it to another thread" i will now. But you also requoted me saying i was the only one? Reread the thread, there was at least 5+ members also saying they had issues, on this forum alone. But i guess, if it doesn't concern you, you dont care.

Itemization will more then likely be a "holiday" patch, to draw in the drones, maybe November i believe.

You want to discuss expansions and talk about "how great" and "what might be", but the simple fact of the matter is, would you pay another 40-70$ for something if they can't resolve something like rubberbanding? If you would, please let me know, i'll be happy to give you my bank account details so you can send some money my way, cuz you pretty much are just giving it away to empty promises.

OT - Potions and a few Leg's revamped. Possibly another Strength class (druid i'm guessing) could be fun. Who knows, maybe they'll even implement the LONG AWAITED pvp system. #graspsatstraws

I'd be extremely interested to see the exact thoughts behind their "itemization" thinking. I read somewhere about possible potions coming into play?

For me, the major thing that i hope when i/if i invest in the expansion, is to hope that BLIZZARD ACTUALLY FIX RUBBERBANDING! Been in since 1.03 patch and still getting it, even after a hot fix that made the problem worse.

Time will tell, maybe they'll hire competent staff that don't post on the issues at hand and then sit back and watch swedish animal porn. :)

    We can only hope.

Act 1: Why aren't you doing the fields of misery? And the dungeon within, decaying cryps, is absolutely stacked with monsters.

The main reason that I left out the Fields of Misery is because of the Trees and Charging Beasts, which give new players a tough time. I left out Halls for A1, Dhalgur for A2, etc. because they are less directed areas. I wanted to keep this as simple and straightforward as possible for returning players.

With that said, there are plenty of viable areas and this is best used as a starting point :)

A farming guide should give maximum return for time invested. That's the point of farming, leaving out areas such as fields/decaying crypts isn't a good farming guide. Trees / charging beasts are limited and really dont offer that much resistance.

If you have the gear, WW is more effective, but i believe you need 100k dps with a cold SoJ. Not hard to achieve.

Use any Diablo 3 gem cost calculator (like http://www.d3rawr.com/gem) and find out yourself.

It takes about ~16m gold and 20 minutes of crafting to get from Flawless Squares to Radiant Star, so for most people... buying them might be cheaper. But it also depends on what gems you have in your stash. Craft to sell, I think, is not a good business. If there is a revenue at all, it's so small that it's not worth it.

Hardcore EU = Cheaper to craft yourself - including buying the required gems/tomes.

Yesterday: console director becomes overall game director.

    Today: Diablo® III – Coming September 3 to Xbox 360 & PS3™

    Coincidence? What's a coincidence, anyway?

I believe in coincidences...but in this case, I'm gonna have to go and say no, not coincidence.

This doesn't have to be a bad thing. Or does it?

Good or bad is the wrong metrics to be applied here. It's just that some people like consoles and the playstyle that comes with it, and some don't. It's about personal flavor, like vanilla or strawberry. I'm not too keen on strawberry (and consoles).
I'm a caramel man myself, or mint choc chip when its available.

What if, instead of +3/2/1/1 and 3% MF/GF per paragon level we got 1 point to spend on a "talent tree."

The talent tree would have bonuses like +10% MF & GF, +5% movement speed, +20 to primary stat, +15 to vitality, etc. Reaching max paragon level would allow you to unlock all the talents so the choices you make are in what order you take them.

Max paragon level would still give you max MF & GF, so that you wouldn't want those stats on gear, would still give you some stats, but you could mix in a few other benefits. There could be trees down which you could work - adventuring (MF/GF, movement speed), the beefy character tree (statistics)... or it could be a FFX/PoE style "map" through which you navigate. At the bottom of each tree, or in the corners of the map, you'd have bonuses like "you retain your follower in multiplayer games" and "allows you to select a 4th passive ability."

Aside from developing the map or trees, making sure the numbers work out, all they'd have to do is remove 3/2/1/1 and 3 MF & GF from each toon for each pLvl they have and refund that character some "points" to spend. That would be able to be done easily via a patch as it's not a whole new system, it's just a rework of an existing one.

The idea would not to be to present the player with an infinite number of choices, but to allow the system to be self-contained (all pLvl 100 toons would have the same bonuses) but to allow the player the choice as to in which order they acquire those bonuses. Some might go for the MF nodes first. Some might pick up some movement speed. Some might grab a lot of primary stat and vitality. Some might take a balanced approach. None would be the "wrong" choice either since you will, eventually, get them all.
What's the point of a talent tree if you "eventually" get them all? What's the point of a talent tree at all?

I love the fact this new director is "focusing" on the console game as well, as per blizzards moto "make money, and push the problems aside".

The worst problem for me, i enjoy this game, i really do, but when problems arise - such as shitty servers/rubberbanding that's been around since 1.03, simple bugs such as the AH when 1.08 came out. There team has NFI how to fix it, takes them days upon days even after they find the problem.

They really need to put more focus on their customer service and also to focus on repairing the current issues rather then "wrapping" a new blanket around the current problems so people dont notice.

    My 2 cents.

P.s. grats to the fella getting a promo/new job ... whatever. Enjoy your $$$ when the console game comes out. Hope it's not a major flop like D3 was when it was first released with empty promises. I also hope he realises that console gamers are more enclined to switch games when they discover continuous problems and bad customer service, but i guess that' wont bother blizzard after the purchase the game ... right?

So if there's a cap on Crit Chance .... why not get to the cap ... and then on selected pieces achieve AS or CD?

Its not "Sad" when you think about it ... if you can crit 100% of the time, abilities such a WoTB would never end ... and they currently dont for geared players anyways.
