    well not sure how that would play for top leaderboard and solo vs 4p but I see a 5piece firebird and 2piece vyr Archon build there ?

    As long as you can ignite elites by using beam, attack and explosion in Archon form you can gain the firebird 6p bonus dmg and dmg reduction easily enough(and forget chantodo, which anyway, bleah)?


    I mean, you can easily put in another weapon like maybe sun keeper for extra damage to elites and rift guardian or anything with fire damage%, there's plenty anyway.


    You could throw in lots of cdr, explosive blast source, archon stacks belt, aquila cuirass(or archon stacks helm even though we found out it's no longer multiplicative) the ring+neck set for additinal damage and damage reduction or xodiac ring and, and being able to survive on your own anyway ?


    it'd probably pull more damage than the 2p vyr and 6p tal rasha with chantodo anyway, considering the 6p 2400% dmg woul dhave a way more consistent uptime than a 7-8 second burst damage of the tal rasha archon build ?


    I'm not sure it'd deal more damage than the other build the 4p vyr and 6 tal rasha though. Those 100% attack speed, armor and all res are rather nice. At least for solo. probably would do more damage in groups ? Sorry for the rambling, off the top of my head :p


    What i see is:

    firebird 5p

    vyr 2p

    set neck+ring and halo of arlise for solo, possibly set neck+ring and zodiac for party ? or maybe even just zodiac + halo of arlise and a good neck.(cube is for rorg) if you jut want faster Archon and also halo of arlise protection in conjuctions with parthan defender

    archon stacks belt

    parthan defenders

    i'd wanna test if the Archon overlap head is worth keeping, it still is a good damage boost while not in Archon or when recasting depending on how much time you spend outside of Archon or if maybe it'd be better to switch to aquila cuirass for another 50% dmg reduciton suppose one or the other for solo/party again


    archon - all runes with vyr 2p

    familiar - sparkflint, e

    weapon - deflection or ignite i guess i'd test which one makes your life easier(if bubble to absorb some dmg or one less ability cast for firebird 6p)

    frost armor - armor rune if you have halo of arlise OR arcane armor if you have zodiac

    a spender(if you go for zodiac ring) or a fire generator (if you don't)

    teleport - stun rune, I guess you'd still use parthan defender even in party, no alternatives there really.

    Weapon i see sunkeeper being the best for extra elite and rift bosses damage in party, but I guess that zankis axe would do too, an extra defense buff might be nice for solo ? or even a in-geom if you're fast enough with the killing to benefit from the 10 seconds less of Archon at least while clearing.


    What do you say ?

    I would give a go to Tal Rasha(much more damage and better survavibility also), try this:


    Arcane torrent - Lightning rune

    Meteor - Arcane Rune

    Teleport - Stun Rune

    Hydra - Fire rune or Black hole - Fire rune (if you like the pulling)

    magic Missile - Ice rune

    Ice armor - Crystallize


    Now while channeling Arcane torrent you will cast arcane meteor every second, free of cost, powered up by the arcane power not being spent and always being max. Insane damage. just remember to teleport and cast hydra and magic missles soemtimes to keep the stacks going you can swap up weapon and bracers now (since you'r enot using twisters anymore) for the channeling weapon taht increases all your dmg by 35% while channeling or serpent sparker for double hydra, and bracers to ancient parthans defender(its legendary effect can reduce your dmg taken for each stunned/'frozen mob near you) I would suggest to also gear up for CDr until you hit a sweet spot for your teleport like 6-8 seconds.

    They can honestly be anything, Legendary items(shoulders, bracers, belts, sources) or even sent bonuses


    1. Diamond Skin no longer expire, casting it again again refresh the shield to its maximum amount.

    2. Each Archon stacks now increases your damage by 30%.

    3. Archon gain a new ability: Archon: Black Hole, with a 10 seconds cooldown.

    4. Archon gain a new ability: Archon: Diamond Skin, with a 10 seconds cooldown.

    5. Hydra now moves alongside you and attacks your target with a piercing beam of energy(imagine disintegrate) OR a focused torrent of missiles(imagine arcane torrent).

    6. Enemies inside your Slow time also suffer 1000% weapon damage per second.

    7. Spectral blade can be cast up to 30 yards away.

    8. Your familiar spell now conjures 4 familiars, multiplying the effect of each rune selected OR each one attacking using a different element.

    9. Copies created by your mirror image now cause 50% of your damage to enemies.


    Lastly I would like to see a cold themed set!


    2p. Diamond skins gain the effect of every rune.

    4p. Reduce the damage you take by 5% for each chilled or frozen enemy within 20 yards, stacking up to 10 times. Chilling or freezing an elite grants the maximum stacks for the duration of the chill of freeze.

    6p. While diamond skin is active your cold attacks deal 2000% more damage to chilled enemies and 3000% more damage to frozen enemies.

    I'd definitely use either eather walker and cube fragment of destiny if you want to use spectral blade and teleport freely(it does feel amazing to just teleport around and wave your magic blades :P). I'd definitely go for shame of delsere belt and depth diggers and simplicity's strength. using Delsere's set makes your blade hit like a truck and really quickly. Definitely give it a go. I'd then use another ability to deal even more dmg while waving the blades without interruption instead of torrent i'd go for either arcane orbs(the rune that makes 4 orbs float around you) or explosive blast(any rune you fancy, I think the best is the triple hit ones though) which you can couple with the respective augmenting sources(triumvirate for orb, and orb of infinite depths) Both skills have interaction with Delsere set, as long as enemies are within your time bubble, they take 2000 percent more dmg from your abilities. It's works wonders. Good luck!

    Bah apparently I can't post a picture :P anyway the green source is the blizzcon ticket transmog(you get tarnsmog for all classes, was world of warcraft related stuff) and Delsere's chest makes the wizard head really cool IMO! tatoos and red/black eyes!

    Go for witchin hour and moonlight, forget Tal's.

    Depending on how much thoughness you have T6 should be fairly easy really with that set up. I don't know the rolls you got on gear but T6 doesn't require much thoughnes anyway.

    Since you are aiming for arcane I doubt you can improve much else really.



    If you do manage to get firebird set all enchanted and everything, definitely go for that, you will see things just melt in front of you so much faster. Firebird effectively doubles the dmg of all fire spell un until 3000% weapon dmg and then keep that going, which is really nice.

    Nice little ring, yes, not nice enough to beat a soj, a rorg or a unity if soloing(c'mon.. unity alone gives you 50% dmg reduction for everything..) it does even require you to use magic reduction gem to be on par with unity, and even then you have to consider physical ranged attacks, which are not reduced by anything even if you use all those defensive stuff at once. It's a no no. Disappointing.

    It was mentioned I think at Blizzcon that all current 4p-only sets will receive a 6p bonus in the future.

    That will include vyr's. So there's still hope.

    I love the ability too and I'm saddened by it's damage outputs limits when used with max-cdr gear that makes it barely usable in T6 and low lvl GR. That said, I have tried to use Archon with Firebird's(Instead of Black Hole)and the dmg output is nice, you will miss the extra runes given by the set but it's stil a good skill if you can be stationary(and if you like to change from the usual hydra cast blizzard cast run.. that is) you can easily reach 50% Cdr if not little more than that with Firebird, that means 20 seconds of Archon every 1 minute, not too bad I'd say.

    Apparently Archon is meant to be a short duration buff since it gives a whole new set of abilities.

    Note that Archon used to extend it's duration by 1 sec for each enemy killed, when used in conjuction with critical mass passive that meant Perma-Archon even without cdr on gear(it didn't exist at the time)

    Blizz dididn't like the idea of players playing only in Archon, therefore it was changed to increase it's damage for each enemy killed and only last the base 20 seconds. My guess is that an high lvl GR viable Perma-Archon will never exist.


    The new 6p in Vyr's would need to provide both a substantial cooldown reduction or duration increase(to get rid of some CDr on the gear and make space for dmg rolls/sockets) and also address the relatively low damage of the Archon abilities themselves. For as much as I hope it will, I don't see it happening anysoon. We're stuck with Firebird and Opus(hopefully.. since we have not yet seen it on the PRT).

    As it is a ring and the ring of choice are Rorg and Jordan I really don't see much use really unless you go full tank and party buff with the new gem for elemental resistance/Poison/Life regen and BUT even then, since we do not have any proper invulnerabilities, i'm not sure up to which GR it'll be possible to play without dieing, deffo not as high as monks or perma-akarat crusaders or perma-confusewhateverelse WD anyway.



    Problem is that it requires you to take dmg to proc o.o i mean.. at some GR melee attacks or even a ranged bolt will prob one shots you ?

    I guess the goal of this ring is to escape melee attackers, not actually tank them. Interesting, but rather annoying that they still want wiz to be hit an drun..
