posted a message on end game fun
There is no "end-game" content and we won't get one ever. Diablo is not an MMO. You set a goal for yourself and achieve it. If you achieved all your goals then look for another game, as killing monsters in order to get loot in order to kill more monsters isn't incentive enough to play this game.

posted a message on Blizzcon 2014 Diablo 3 Future
I believe that Blizzcon 2014 will be primarily about the second SCII expansion, Legacy of the Void. It's one and a half year since Heart of the Swarm came out, so I guess some details about LotV are overdue.

If we will get anything about Diablo III it will be about the direction of the game now that Seasons have been implemented, the near future and so on. I do believe that the next Diablo III expansion is in some kind of alpha-stage now, but it's too early to show it now. We won't be seeing any info about DIII 2nd expansion before Blizzcon 2015 I guess.

I find people who want a Vitality based class incredibly naive.

The game works like this: in order to get damage you need a lot of your main stat, in order to get survivability you need a lot of vitality.
A class with Vit-mainstat would virtually have a bonus primary affix on every item (when compared to other classes) just because the class wouldn't need a vit/mainstat combo on most of the items.
i dont think its ever gonna happen, but most likel you can balance around that too. like how monk has bonus resist from secondary stats (even if it just got [semi]hard nerfed), or how crushader can wield a 2 hander and a shield.

    EDIT:
And as the post above this mentions, you would lack ar or armor from mainstat.

So you would have same vit asother classes. Same mainstat as other classes. But you would get +1 stat on every piece of gear that has vit normally. What would you do with it? Get extra power? Nope. You would roll armor or allres on them so you get enough resistances.

    It is balanced in itself
No, it is not balanced. Let's put it this way:
All classes need main stat, damage, ias, chd and chc for damage.
All classes need armor, vitality and resistances for survival.
Therefore all classes need a healthy mix of all the above in order to progress.

A vitality-based class would have effectively 2 stats merged into one. No amount of balancing, passives and workarounds will compensate for the fact the such a class would be able to "skip" one affix while gearing.
Example: you get an rare amulet with 4 primary stats.
If you want to maximize DPS as a regular class you'd (optimally) want to have: main stat, CHD, CHC and IAS. You would get a load of DPS without any survivability.
A vit-based class would roll on the same amulet vitality, CHD, CHC and IAS. So that class would get a load of DPS and a solid chunk of health. That is simply bad game design.

posted a message on RoRG drop buff
This whole buff simply reminded me that the Ring of Royal Grandeur is THE prime example of bad game design. In my opinion there shouldn't exist any items that are absolutely mandatory for each class regardless of the build. In fact I find it insulting that I have to get this ring in order to achieve higher Greater Rifts.

I'll end up with that Ring eventually, but I really do hope that Blizzard will delete this horribly designed item from the game at some point.

As far as the topic goes, I think that 100% chance on T6 is overkill. The chance-to-difficulty curve should be much more flat. I'd say that 25% chance on T1 and 50% chance on T6 would be fine + disable legendary cache drops below Torment 1.

I mean seriously, give me one reason to play season after the first week when your paragon ~100 and have badly rolled versions of your sets. Competition on ladder? I would rather do it on non-season because at-least there my gear isn't miles behind people they are playing 12hrs a day.
Point is, why play at all on non-season when you already got all your well-rolled sets? I'm playing Seasons now (very casually) just because I again have a sense of progression.

Use Dashing Strike for mobility while leveling. Everything else is without meaning, just pick the skills that you currently have bonuses for (on gear).

This news makes me want 2.1 even more than before. At the same time it is another argument not to play this game anymore at present time.

    Quote from shaggy

I found a Cord of the Sherma yesterday. I enchanted it up, gave it to my WD, and immediately noticed an intangible, but real increase in survivability. It didn't particularly change HOW I am playing, but it was a very welcome bonus nonetheless.

Then I find an Angel Hair Braid and want to smash my monitor.

The point that I'm trying to make is that Cord of the Sherma doesn't even have a particularly awesome "legendary property" but it's still light years ahead of the Angel Hair Braid. I'm beginning to wonder why we can't let legendaries have 5 primary stats or 4 secondary stats or why they can't all have a special property. They've already clearly established that yellow items are not as good as orange/green items... so why not just own that and run with it?

You know what is even worse? The fact that Blizzard failed to learn from the D3V failed itemization. In the beginning Loot 2.0 was a major improvement to Loot 1.0 but after the hype went out of me I started to resent the RoS itemization. After all the talk about improving Legendaries, about abandoning the model where all the classes hunted for the same stat combinations on items, about the mandatory Emerald-socket in weapons we have a game where:

    • A socket in weapons is still mandatory because of the ridiculous amount of CHD emeralds provide
    • A lot of Legendary items are nothing more than Rare items with bigger stat rolls
    • Each class still wants as much CC/CHD/IAS as possible - nothing has changed in this matter. Putting aside the class specific items, the only variation between classes in gearing is the main stat and chosen elemental damage bonus
    • Some legendary items are just badly designed - Wrath of the Bone Kingis a prime example. The guaranteed 1-2% of CC is simply nothing compared to what a socket+emerald would bring in terms of raw DPS, thus it will always get enchanted off the weapon in favor of the socket - oh wait, but it won't because it's impossible to have a socket and the main stat on this weapon at all
    • Some really weird decisions were made - for example, since RoS release I keep wondering why on earth Eberli Charo and Vo'Toyias Spiker are regular shields, not Crusader shields. More for Forgotten Souls non-Crusaders?
    • After having a game which pigeon-holed everybody into the same items in the same slots, Blizzard gives us some ridiculously overpowered items that everybody wants to have. When it comes to higher torment levels, it's hard to find a person who doesn't use Stone of Jordan + Ring of Royal Grandeur + Aughild's 3pc bonus... Really great diversity.

Ok, rant's over. Have a nice day.
