Yes, people still play this game, they love this game and will be so next couple years. And yes, 12million copies sold last year... Take something crazy like 60% away(if people dropped the game), that would still be 4,8 million active players. Shocking i know, but just because you dont like it? Hm.

Why would people create topic here(think about it)?

    1)They want to whine.
    2)They are stuck.

The majority is here, just to whine and nothing else.

But have you ever seen, "OMFG this game is so great" topics? No? Ofcourse you wont, that is not how the communities work. You only use them when you are in trouble. So, just because you see lots of hate-topic, doesnt mean anything at all.

Anyway, I don't like multiboxing; not because I don't think it's 'fair', but because I consider it automation, and therefore against the ToS. Blizzard does not, however, so I guess that's that.

Could you give my ring back?

Automation:"people gets stronger than me and its not fair, so it must be against the ToS".

    1)It is unfair.
    2)Random rant.

    Why people dislikes AH:

    1)It is unfair.
    2)Random rant.

I hope you see the pattern. You guys are not easy to satisfy and you believe much else is unfair(let us be real here).

If you ask me, if someone pays 4x for a game, why should they not deserve the items, more than a average guy(just like if they use RMAH or 3rd party)? Why would you whine? The only answer is: "because its not fair". And my answer is to that "maybe not, but they pay the price, so let them be". They are more valuable than you as a player(fact) - like it or not.

While saying "a person bought 4 copies, so they deserve 4x the loot" is actually a surprisingly reasonable argument...it's basically like saying it's just as fair for "a person to pay real money for endgame loot and then faceroll."

Blizzard is removing the Auction Houses because it was breaking the game for EVERYONE. No one felt like the mediocre loot they were struggling to earn on their own was worth the trouble they were going through for it...similarly, no one felt rewarded or satisfied by the items they bought on either the Gold Auction House or the Real-Money Auction House.

Multiboxing, on the other hand? Barely anyone does it, iakes a ton of money to make work, hardware expertise, etc. All in all, it's not worth it, and for the amount of money someone pays for multiple copies of the game, the pc hardware...you may as well just use that money on gear either on the RMAH or 3rd party sites.

All multiboxing does is multiply your drops by 4 to swing the RNG in your favor. Once Loot 2.0 goes live, there will be considerably less need for multiboxing, but of course...crummy people will still do it for that extra advantage.

No, my point was not if its worth it or not.

The first few comments(just look), is all about if something is fair or not. I think its fair, if someone decides to pay. And yes, they deserve they drops, because they use money to:

    1)support the developers.
    2)support the game.
    3)support the community.

Compared to someone, who plays 1 hour per week and whines.

That is the way i look.

Absolutely worth it. But it depends on the timing.

You could go ahead, gear your characters, farm up paragon as good as you can, so you are well prepared for the release(more than people on idle, who are selling stuff right now and are low level paragon). But you must expect, that the items will drop in price, the closer we get to the release. My suggestion is, just gear them up when you feel its right and gain some levels.

Complaining has nothing to do with playing casually.

    I disagree.

You're welcome to disagree, care to support your disagreement though? The vast majority of players don't even visit forums to make a comment or voice their opinion, many of which are casual players.

No, the casual group is here. You dont even read any threads about how well people are doing, right? It's all about whine. And the same group of people, will be here for like forever and only to whine. And of course they will whine, when the invest like 3 hours per week into this. They dont even know the mechanics of this game or the potential AH had.

The upcoming patch is very good in my opnion, but im afraid that it wont change the attitude or mentality of the community and exactly, what i wanted to point out.

Find a guide(use this site or youtube)and start upgrading your items. Compared to the time you stopped, the items are very cheap now(you will be able to upgrade all your items for almost free). So basicly, farm up some gold or use RMAH to buy some gold, flip items etc. and upgrade your stuff.

Upon hearing the paragon 2.0 changes, I leveled a 2nd barb, currently on lv 96, should reach 100 in 68 total hours played.

Yes, but the barb builds are very expensive. That is the issue for some players.

    Long story short:

I have played every charactor(expect DH)to max level after patch 1.08(the current patch). All of my charactors, had around 3 billion gold and my goal was to get on paragon 100, atleast on one of them.

The best charactor i made, compared to the money i spent, was my WD(which i ended up being paragon 100 with, after only 100 hours of play time). The most expensive build was the archon build for wizz. Even 3 billion gold on EU servers was not enough to play MP10(when i compare her to my WD's performance). Same story with the barb. The monk was every close to my WD's performance. After that i burned out and having a break.

So my conclussion is: the money you spend on WD, is far better than any other class as i think WD's perform much better.

If i had to start over, without being biased, i would still make a WD, just because they own so much. But, i still recommend you pick a class, that you can enjoy.

All expansion betas for Blizzard games have so far been 6 months.

True. But we are speaking about WoW and SC(you can expect them to take 6 month as they are more complex).

We only need 3-4 month of testing i guess, unless something goes wrong.

You can start counting 3-4 months ahead after the beta access and you got the release date.

This is not a big addition(compared to the other expansion releases), so it wont take as long as 6 months.

I might be too optimistic, but i believe if we recieve beta invites this month, we might get a christmas release(unless delay). Otherwise Q1 2014 is a good spot.

And no, they wont delay beause of hype. Obviously, they want to release ASAP, as the announcement currrently affects the economy and the motivation of current playerbase.

    1) "The AH takes all the fun out of finding useful items."

Also, it makes searching for items and trading easier. You want to see a chat, with lots of spam msg's? You want to see even more item/gold sellers? More scammers? No thanks.

And people who are saying this, is actually people who cant find items(casual players), even after the huge changes.

    1) The AH makes trading too easy.
    2) You can stop the casual player bashing, casual players actually don't play the AH, it's rather the 500h+ players who can't upgrade anymore without the AH and need to look for BiS there to proceed.
    3) The original idea of this thread does does not move trades from the AH to ingame msg spams.

    Quote from Ludo_frodo

    2) "Items found while "playing the game" are Auctioned 99.99% of the time to be able to purchase upgrades, via Auction House."

You WILL trade items. You cannot avoid it. If not your items are auctioned, your items are traded. No sense playing a game, where you find all your stuff yourself. This is the very essence of this game. There is no fun at all, if not you find stuff, to trade them and AH is a great tool.

You know, there are quite a lot of people who want to avoid trading. And for quite a lot of people the very core of the game is about finding all the stuff themselves. Actually, Blizzard has already said that they want to help making self-found a better experience (right now it's just a pain in the ass). Please refrain from making generalizations based on your play style, because it's obviously not everyone's play style.

    Quote from Ludo_frodo

    3) "Finding your own gear and progressing at the rate of the general community is impossible. While this shouldn't necessarily be as fast, the difference is too vast."

What you are saying is "I want to play less, but get badass quick as possible". This isnt fair for those, that actually dedicates time and energy to get better. They deserve the loot and fame, just like in every other game. Again, what is the point, if not you work hard to get your loot?

Read the last sentence you quoted again. The difference is too vast. No one said that casual/self-found players should have same or even similar loot than players with 1000+ hours or credit card warriors. However, right now the gap it too big: Self-found players can't get past low MP levels unless they are exceptionally lucky; players using every aspect of the AH get bored with their 500k+ DPS cookie cutter barb because the game is a joke even on MP10.

    Good answer.

But again, i think those changes will help the casual players more. This game should be like every other, where the rich gets richer and the poor dude must work hard. That is how the gaming culture is. Im actually tired of reading all those threads about people whining, because they play 1-5 hours per week and expecting glory and women. In the other hand, we got players who dedicates 20-30 hours atleast per week, to overcome the challenges.

So with all those changes, the casual dude gets almost as strong as the hardcore guy and that is not fair. It also fair that people pays 2k dollar per item(hey, they pay the price, so whats your issue?). Whats up with the casual dude, speaking about balancing all this stuff and whining about "the creditcard warrior". Atleast he is dedicated enough to pay money and more valuable to the community. "The creditcard warrior" will find other sources anyways, if they remove the RMAH. It wont fix anything.

The only and single issue here is, that this community is all about whining(with that said, some of the changes are needed).

I say people should take it easy and we have to wait to see how the expansion is going to be(and come up with the good ideas after that). Seriously, we got like 3-400 threads about good ideas, created within few months(only a handful makes sense). This is just awkward.

I'm a bit confused why he suggested what is in essence, a high dps centric build when you're having issues surviving?

Horrify with Frightening Aspect rune works wonders when combined with Grave Injustice and some pick-up radius. It literally doubles your armor and can be cast often. As well, Horrify is a helluva panic button.

Myself, I prefer Hex/Jink over Mass Confusion/Paranoia. It's easy to get full up-time with it, as it has a drastically shorter cooldown than MC.

Also, ditch the Lacunis and craft some bracers. WD's using bats don't need IAS. Actually, many people prefer slow builds to high IAS. You'll get far better mana sustain this way and in this manner, sheet DPS lies to you in respect toward IAS on a WD.

BBV is a good sub for Horrify if you feel you don't need that much survivability.
    http://us.battle.net...UdQY!Tec!bZZcbb

Well, if you are going to pull 50% of Fields of Misery in one pull, my build is the way to go. No build, no item no matter what you do, you wont be able to survive that kind of pull otherwise. This build is all about damage and AoE, but works great with life steal and a great way to survive.

It is hard to describe, but what MC(Mass Confusion)does is:

Imagine that you got 100 mobs behind you and you run around in circles, waiting for the moment to go in. You drop your ward and instead of going right to the center of the mobs(you risk getting killed), you confuse the first few of the mobs. What will happend is, the mobs you confuse, will block the rest of the mobs reaching you, giving you the best chance to establish your Fire Bat skill. Besides, you can disable a group of hard hitting mobs, such as Savage Beats. Also, as MC is AoE, you can confuse a group, deal 20% more damage and get more life steal out of it. Lastly, if you are against a pack of elite and you got Stone of Jordan, you will deal 50% extra damage against them(30% from perfect SoJ and 20% from MC). Imagine all that life steal and the damage.

But again, this build takes some practice, but this is the best one i tryed. And trust me, ive tryed all the popular builds.

Items alone wont help you survive, no matter what you buy.

    Use this exact build:
    us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#hcUdjQ!YTe!aaZcYb

    Keypoint:
1)Use left-mouse button to gather as many melee units as you can. Act 1 is a great place.

2)You need to make sure, that you got everything off-cooldown.

3)When you ready, you press 4 to buff yourself up. Do NOT use it in the middle of everything. Drop it next to the pack, so you are prepared when they come to you.

4)Use 3 and 2 right away - in this order and make sure you hit them(2 gives you lots of int AND all-ress, while you use 3 to confuse them, to deal even greater damage).

5)Finally, you go in with 1 and hold down right-mouse button(Fire Bats).

6)This is the critical part: everytime you crit, your cooldowns will drop. That means, if you hit enough mobs, you will be able to spam 1 and 2, while you hold down Fire Bats without interupting it. This is the very essence of this build and this is how you are going to survive the big pulls. Remember to position yourself all the time and make sure to run around a bit, when you are on cooldown.

-As for the items, change your pants to Blackthorne's, but with all ress and 2 socket. You can either go vit or int as gems. If you want to be more offensive, get Innas pants.

-Get Zunnimassa's Pox with highest possible crit chance in combination of crit damage.

-Craft better gloves or buy Tasker and Theo with high Int or rare gloves with all res, high crit chance and crit damage.

-Consider Stone of Jordan, with bonus to Fire Bats and Fire Damage. This item is extremely good against
elites. Change your rare ring with this.

-You can change your weapon, to something with high DPS(black weapon, search if you dont know what it is), Life Steal, crit damage and int OR vit.

    Try to get:
    -Atleast 50K hp.
-Atleast 40% crit chance(atleast 35% if you use Stone of Jordan).
    -Atleast 150k unbuffed DPS.
    -Atleast 3,5k armor.
    -Atleast 2,5% Life Steal.
    -Around 500 unbuffed all ress.
-As much crit damage as you can get.

After these changes and you master this build(takes some practice, but this is the important part), you should be able to do MP10.

Never forget, no matter what class you play or set, you will always die. We try only to die less.

    Good luck. :)

I got 1,4 b gear on my barbar and im doing mp8 easy as hell.

Maybe i failed, but i bet you are on US servers. Prices are different on EU and items are more expensive.

Again, 250K DPS 500 EHP on barbarian was less effective, compared to my WD on 2-3BN budget. That was my point.

Go ahead and kill elites on MP10 in less than 20 seconds, please. :) No wait, i give you 60 seconds.:D

posted a message on WD's are the best!
Hi guys, i just wanted to say that WD's are the best. :)

    Here is the reason:

1)From Level 1(normal levels) to paragon 100 took me about 100 hours with a budget 2-3bn(EU servers on US servers i could probably get away with 1-1┬Żbn). Had 220K DPS(unbuffed)and about 350 EHP and only MP10 act 1 runs. I could pull allmost 50% of Fields of Misery, just to kill them all in one pull. This build was the best one that worked for me:

    us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#hcUdjQ!YTe!aaZcYb

2)I took the items from my WD to my wizzard with a good a source off-hand as the only difference(i used the popular builds and guides from here). Wanted to try archon out and i failed. Ended up 300K unbuffed DPS(my damage wasnt enough to kill fast as my WD) - was good enough to MP8.

4)Sold all my items to start up a monk. Did it fairly good on MP10, but was more complex and harder to play compared to WD and wizzard. I used the tempest rush build, just to farm faster. But i didnt like the style, so i rolled a barbarian.

3)Sold my items to buy barbarian items. My budget was 5bn. Didnt work out that well. I had 250K(unbuffed)DPS 500 EHP and was just good enough to farm MP8 with some trouble.

Some other things i noticed was, even with my decent to good WD items, i could take out MP10 elites in less than 10-20 seconds, if i was against easier mobs. None of the other characters i rolled was able to do it and some of them wasnt even able to kill faster on MP7-8.

I really did eveything i could to optimize all of my characters and this is the result.

So, to my conclussion, i regret i rolled other characters. Seriously, WD's are the best and so much fun.

I hope this was interesting. :)

posted a message on RoS - not until next year. BUT:
    The game seems playable.

I expect the beta to start within 1month and if the beta goes well and no new ideas(3 month standard). This Christmas looks very logical and possible. If not early 2014.

    You should do this:

1)Farm as many charactors as possible and reach high levels. Because the system will reward you with the expansion.
2)Do not sell anything. Actually, 1-2 months before the release, buy the best items you can afford, as people will sell thier stuff.
3)When you are going to level up and farm when the expansion hits, you will have much easier time and you will be the first to get the best legendaries and sell them for a good price.

Its not OP, before anyone starts to whine. He is a good player because. He got the best items you can get and he experiments with a build, while everyone else copy pastes the WW builds.

    Well played sir.

You know, this can be a bad or a good thing.

Fact: this recent patch, is how it supposed to be. This is they way D2 was(you just dont farm bosses for better loots, that is the major difference).

Its understandable, that people notice better droprates - but thats because of the loot design to start off with.

This thread is annoying, as if someone wanted to prove, desperately and arrogantly that god actually exists. Notice the similarities.

Believe what you want, but keep it for yourself. Else you are just making fun of yourself, because athiesm got nothing to do with science(athiests are just using this as argument and thats wrong).

    Quote from Xenocow

If people aint buying, people aint selling... easy as that.

and since more and more people quitting, the pool of players who are actually willing to spend real money shrinks as well.
I'd really like to know how many people actually still playing, but from the 11 Mio sold copies not many people are left, i am certain of that.

1.04 was awsome, granted... 1.05 gonna be a disaster again.

    Another boring post.

You know, 11M is alot. Not everyone is bored like you or some else. People who whines spams this community and they get the attention.

posted a message on why are the gems on the AH so cheap??
    Here is my theory:

Gems are dropping in price, because people are selling their gems. And this results in overflow of gems.

We need a fix some how. A solution could be implementation of higher level gems.

    Quote from asdfywea

why can't people understand that the AH is simply a very convenient way of trading? in D2, when you got a good item you wouldn't use, you trade it by joining trading games and lost a couple of days tying to trade it, sometimes, less, sometimes more, the AH makes that process for you, but hey, don't wanna use it? go to trade channels, and TRADE. As simple as that.

Because... its not?, this argument is getting extremely old.

You may ask why, and its simple, look:

I played D3 for 200 hours, more or less, I got 4 characters 50+ and a WD who is paragon 8. You know how much costs a 1100-1200 dps with +int weapon in the AH?, 10-30k, you know when was the last time I saw a weapon with those stats dropped in the floor?, never, you know how much time it takes me to get 10-30k in Act 1 inferno?, 20 mins if I'm lazy.

Like you see, there is no comparison between effort -> result. In D2, you needed to trade something useful for something useful, there was no: "ok, Ill farm gold for a day and I will buy a ZOD rune, no problem". Nope, you had to have something of a similar value.

Don't get me wrong, I see the potential of trading, its useful when you don't want to level up other characters or when you just want to trade it for something your current player needs, I get it, and I'm not against that.

    The AH/RMAH.. is completely different.

Let me tell you what you did in D2:
You did your meph runs over and over again, or baal runs.
Alas, you need some MF gear, even in D2 - right? So suddenly you could start farming items and trade them, after you have reached certain item level(just like in D3).

You have played 200 hours on 4 different characters. What do you honestly expect? There is NO game, you can be good at after only 200 hours played.

I have played 500 hours on my only character, and you asked me in another thread, how much real money i have spent on him, because i invested my time, just to get better. This doesnt makes sense. You can find threads, where players manages to get through inferno, without using the AH!

Let me ask you: do you really think, that people would stop buying items for real money, with or without RMAH? Did you know, the black market makes millions of dollars every year, thanks to people who are willing to pay?
I rather support the devlopers/players, if i had to buy anything and use the RMAH.

It is getting annoying now. Why do people complain all the time, i just dont get it?

#0 So, you got 170 MF. Congrats. That is nothing and you expect everything. I know your feeling to be honest, but you dont find any solution. Go get more MF, farm faster and be better.
I rather prefer a community playing the game, instead of criticizing it. This community tends to fail and expects a solution from the developers, instead of finding a solution.

I run around with 400MF level 65 paragon. I got about 40 brimstones and they are from the legendaries i couldnt sell(above iLvl 60). Yet, i dont get legendaries every game. On avg. i have to play like 2 hours to find a legendary/set and im pretty fast on the clearing.

Here is my wisdom: do not focus on farming items, just focus on leveling paragons! You will find your legendary/set. Do not complain, just focus on your leveling. You do not need to break every barrel you find(actually just stop it), instead be very fast and efficient.

Oh please, tell us more how much real money you "invested" in your character, or, how much time it took you to do that.

Oh, and btw, there is no wisdom, is just time/money.

Real money? You know its not about using real money. What kind of argument is that?

If people who tend to whine, had enough money, do you really think, they got what it takes? I mean, they dont even search for any solution, how should they be efficient? It's all about giving what it takes and this makes the difference. This is why, people who are streaming, are much better than others, not because they use money, but they know what they are doing. And yes, time is money - why waste it?

posted a message on Prove to me that your God exists.
First of all my enligsh is not that great, so carry this with me please.

In my opinon, there are 2 extremly annoying groups: the believers and non believers. In my opinion, they are no difference between them. Both groups believe in something and why should some one prove anything? This doesnt make sense. The title of this thread, could also be "Prove me god doesnt exists". What is the difference?

So we have this annoying group of athiests, if we ask them, why, they will usually answer with "because i believe in science". Did you know, even the greatest of scientists(people who knows better than you and i)believes in god? Fair enough if you think god doenst exists, but its so dumb to use this as your argument. It would be better, if you could tell people, why religion is nonsense and because you actually know something about religion.

The believers are not better, just in another way.
