Using Frost Nova to boost Disintegrate's damage.. interesting, I hadn't thought of that. Doesn't the Disintegrate beam almost instantly cancel the Frost Nova effect? I was experimenting with Slow Time/Time Warp, myself.Quote from KapsuThis disintegrate build is what I've been running the last couple of days. Works very well for doing full clears of the game on T5. If I do clears with my friend with much worse gear than I have on T3, the elites often die within seconds of Frost Nova dropping. On solo T3, they usually don't last beyond the Frost Nova.
I only have 9 APoC. Arcanot, Storm Armor and Astral Presence are making up for it though. I rarely run out of AP, every now and then on long single-target fights only. This is my armory.

Farming Torment 3 atm with a very similar build. I just don't see why you take Glass Cannon over Blur. The EHP lost with Blur isn't worth the added DPS, I think, not in a build that needs to stand still to deliver its damage.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I share your hope that this build will work in RoS but I think the fact that APoC values on items will be severely nerfed compared to lvl 60 values introduces a big challenge to this build. You want to keep that beam up but it's going to be hard, I think.

I know that this is why they made the change. Yet, in spite of the change, spamming spenders is still fun, and I think it will still be possible with certain low-cost spenders if the amounts of resource reduction you can get on gear are high enough.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I'm not trying to argue in favor of or against the APoC nerf here, I'm just requesting some very specific information from someone who played the Beta. My question, again, is how much Resource Cost Reduction can a level 70 Rare item roll?

As we all know, the amount of APoC that will be available on lvl 70 gear will be significantly lower (max 4 rolls of APoC). This means that, in order to make a build that can spam a spender infinitely, you would now need a to stack a significant amount of Resource Cost Reduction, which is now available in on gear and through Paragon Points.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I see that up to 10% Resource Cost Reduction can be obtained through Paragon Points (this would require Paragon 200, a pretty easy level to achieve).
My question now is the following: How much Resource Cost Reduction can a Rare item of level 70 item roll? 10%? 20%? And on which slots is this stat available?
PS: I'm asking about Rares specifically because I know there will be some legendaries with crazy cost reduction amounts on them (like Cindercoat), but I am trying to make a channeling build that doesn't rely on very specific legendaries.

I have recently switched to Wizard because I found the wide range of elemental builds that are now available to be very interesting. I can never play a single character build for a very long time without getting bored, and the wizard looks to me to become more versatile than ever with this patch. With CM and Infinite Archon gone and practically all the elemental skills improved or changed, I think there will be lots and lots of different builds to try out, depending on the gear you find. I hope that picking the Wizard will allow me to have a lot of variation in my gameplay, without constantlyswitching between characters. That said, I think that you should totally stick with your witchdoctor if you love the class. Imo, the style of a class is one of the most important things, because you stay fascinated much longer with a class that stylistically corresponds to your dream of a hero. So if you like how the WD revolves around voodoo, rituals, totems, fetishes, poison darts, tribal colors, etc, then you should really stick with it. From what I've seen the class will remain very powerful in 2.0, perhaps even more powerful. You might just want to start looking for a different build if your current build happens to revolve around zero dogs or zombie bears. I chose the wizard myself, because I could never really get into the whole voodoo thing stylistically. I think it is original and funny (some WD skills are downright hilarious), but it's just not me. I much prefer the style of the wizard, which revolves around magic, teleporation, bending time and realityto your will, astral travelling, transcending reality, etc. This post probably sounds funny coming from someone with my signature. I guess I should change itPosted in: Off-Topic

That sounds very good. Let's hope they don't nerf it in the first balancing patch. After all, I remember from those recent Twitch interviews that one of the devs was saying you should not be able to spam spenders unless you have worked very long towards a specific combo of legendaries. The way it sounds to me, however, this is not yet the case atm.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

I think it does indeed only affect yourself, although I have no hard evidence to confirm it. It simply looked that way when I tried it against a ring with more traditional defense stats.. pets died more often on the same MP.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura

I'm thinking of running a Disintegrate wizard in RoS myself, actually. With resource cost reduction now available on gear and paragon points, and APoC still (in lesser quantities) available, I think it should (still) be possible to spam it. I have no access to the Beta so I cannot confirm this. Do you know?Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
It looks tempting but on the other hand I'm afraid they will nerf it as soon as they find out it's really spammable. After all, they said repeatedly that they want you to use a mix of primaries and spenders, saving up your AP for when you really need to nuke (which is always, that's the flaw in their reasoning imo).

Does anyone know if pets gain benefits from Reduced Damage from Elites? Or does this stat only affect your hero character?Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
