No one freaking cares about ps3 xbox crap... Diablo is a PC game and always has been, why don't they put out stuff that matters.. or just freaking update the game already

It's 15 years since Diablo came out on Playstation so console + Diablo has been a thing for (I'm guessing) longer than you've been on this planet. I pref. the PC version of most games, but I think a console version of D3 will be a nice addition. I will test it on PS4 when it's ready.

^A slower weapon would also mean you proc less cyclones in any given amount of time.

There are a million guides and tutorials online that explain this way better than I can in plain text, so I will end what would be a long rant before it begins. Believe what you want. The evidence is out there ;)

Just a quick one here. At high gear lvl you will have att. speed on all gear. You will then spawn a lot of cyclones. High att. speed wep. will make you spawn even more. BUT there is a cap on how many you can spawn at the same time, so you want fewer cyclone that do more dmg.

Check out InvisUK on twitch. He's got all the numbers and evidence (if you want to do the right thing ;) )

For any monk builds that uses FoT Tclap/SW Cyclone, rare weapon +1.4aps / LS WKL is the best. Nothing can beat it.

If the build does NOT use any lighting skills like pure bell build, rare weapon +1.4aps / rare weapon +1.4aps (DPS doesn't matter much at all. just high dex/high cd/ls/socket)

Check out my weapon set up for the bell build. My explosive light crits up to 6-7mil per target with the current set up. I love the empowered bell rune the best though.

Echoing Fury is just not good for Monks in my opinion. Even if you have +300k dps, you are likely to chase the elites around which is annoying as hell. I can spec my monk to have about 340k unbuffed dps with cd ef on my OH. It's annoying. Our aps is just way too fast to deal with the fear proc.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but not the first part. A weapon with 1.4 att.speed is NOT what we want. Those weapons have low dmg range, and will make our cyclones do less dmg. That's why we want weapons with either 1.2 or 1.3 att.speed (spear, mace or axe) as they have the highest dmg range.

Note: the damage range is NOT the same as the dps. A lot of people get that mixed up :)

Yeah until the day that I have gear on the level of Invis and other top monks, I can't see myself giving up the double LS. The night and day difference its made to my game play is just too valuable. I totally subscribe to the idea of more dps faster/less LS needed - however, at the point I'm at now, getting that higher level of dps is going to require billions of gold or some really nice RNG.

The current dilemma that I'm dealing with is whether to drop the WKL for another one hand sword with equivalent dps to my main hand and LS. I know the dps boost to lightening skills with the WKL makes a huge difference, but its actual physical damage leaves much to be desired. thoughts?

If you are using FoT - Thunderclap and SW: Cyclone there are no better items than WKL as your offhand. The only thing that can make any sort of sense in this matter is to go with personal preference. If you don't like WKL, go for a rare. It's rather simple :) A good WKL is more DPS than any other rare (99.9% of the time).

Won Khim Lau can give a fat boost, however, depending on your MP goals they can be extremely expensive because of the metrics you need to maintain to move up. For example, a WKL with lifesteal and respectable DPS, or Crit Hit Dmg.

Ofc the best weapons are more expensive. I might have missed something, but unless ppl are on a budget I will give advice on what is best (amount of gold in the bank is not a part of my reasoning). Even if you dont have the gold now, it's nice to know what IS best.

Just give us some content. We don't need a more polished gameplay or more depth to the characters. We (the people I used to play with before they all quit) want random, endless dungeons with some sort of survival mode and scaling difficulty. We said the same thing 10 months ago, so it's about time! ;)

2x LS makes life easier, sure. But the farm is slower. If you can survive with 1x LS wep, then you will have 1 stat (crit dmg) on your wep free! More DPS, less time spent on each pack. Simple as that. If you can't handle 1x LS, then you need either more eHP or more LS. But, as I noticed, after a while you'll have enough eHP to survive on just 1 LS wep, and at that point your second LS stat is useless. More DPS is not.

Never used a WKL ever for my monk. I find buying a class specific weapon like that for the amount of money they want for a good one useless to me. I level all my characters and being able to swap weaps amongst characters is a must for me. I also find resale on non class specific weaps much easier as everyone is looking for them.

Be patient and keep checking the AH. A sword will be on there cheap, there always is and you will get it.

Why would you want the same wep for several classes? Weapons should have a nice chunk of mainstat (dex) and the monk is the only one that can use dex 1handers. I guess a barb/wd/wiz could as well, but that would be...not-so-good.

To the OP, I see you have seen the light :) No more EF = no more tears. I would also suggest to go for 1 LS wep only, but that'll come naturally when you progress through new gear upgrades.

Any WKL with 23+ lightning dmg will outshine EF.

My previous EF had 1287 dps, 65% crit dmg, socket and 0.25 att. sec. My WKL is in my sig. Tested on Ghom (MP10) I killed him in 39 sec with my EF. 31 sec with my WKL. There is simply no contest.

EF is only for boosting your paper dps and we all know that's pretty much useless ;)

You are on your way. Mostly the correct stats, just need to fine tune your gear. Higer values all over. And, I'm sorry to say this, Mempo and Inna's Vast Expanse is simply the best way to go. Not a bad monk though. You have some very nice crafts. I would still have you look for better gloves. Vitality and att speed is needed, but as crafts go your gloves are ok.

Let me just chime in and say DON'T DO IT! I wouldn't pick that up if it was thrown after me. Terrible weapon, for reasons already stated. Get a WKL. There are no better alternatives out there.

EDIT: didn't check your profile until now, sorry. Looks like you already have a WKL. Good. But put your highest dmg range wep in your mainhand. Your WKL has lower dmg range (NOT the same as dps) than your Echoing Fury. Therefore, your WKL should be your offhand. It won't show on your paper dps, but you will notice it, especially when you remove that Echoing Fury for a high dmg range (slow) wep and put it in your mainhand :)

Gold hasn't been worth 25 cents a mill in months, because most of the gold bought was on third party sites for 4 cents. You have to realize, ITEMS keep their value, gold doesn't because every day people are amassing more and more gold. If you want more for it, sell it on the rmah, and then buy gold with the money.

well heres the thing about selling it on rmah for more then gold ITS IMPOSSIBLE. only a moron would pay $250 for an item when all they have to do now is buy 2b gold off rmah for $75 and buy that same item off the gold ah.
true enough gold farmers were selling gold way cheaper but the thing about that is people believed them to be shady business and would rather buy the gold off rmah so they wouldnt get scammed/banned. so now this is just ridiculous.

so in all actuality if i wanted to get what my item was worth, the day before patch, i would have to wait till everyone got on board and took all similar items off the gold ah then i would have to post it on the forums for 13.3b and hope that i count all numbers correctly in the trade window.

so all in all i just sold a $500 item for $75 because just a few days ago gold was .25 cents per mil and i read the patch notes that gold is sold by 10x mil in the rmah not that the gold @ 10x mil is worth about the same as 1x mil before. if i would have known this i would have kept my item. ty blizz for screwing me over once again.

Items worth more than 2b aren't put on the gold AH anymore. It's all going to RMAH because gold has lost most of it's value. So, no, that wont work. Also, your numbers are pure fantasy. A 4cc mempo has never been worth $500. 6cc ones go for 90-120.

    Quote from 0mn1bl4d3

if i had the right mind, and the money, i would buy billions of gold off rmah right now and buy every single cc mempo off gold ah then post them all on rmah @ $250 a piece.

You're too late for that my friend ;)
