I think they just need to add a cooldown period on CB so that it can't happen more than once every couple seconds. Nerf the all-CB ultra fast attack speed builds while keeping it as a valuable addition to most players' DPS.

No more CMWW :( guess I will be playing my barb and monk for the foreseeable future.

no more whirlwind barbs anymore :(

Whirlwind Barbs are still very strong, was watching one clean up Torment 6 yesterday. The new Hurricane rune is amazing.

I agree the boss should only be on the last level, seems obvious. Why else would there by any more levels? IMO there should just be a reasonable monster kill requirement on each level before you can proceed to the next one.

Runewords are just another type of legendary, same thing really. D2 had a handful that were particularly ridiculous.

The whole reason they pulled followers out of co-op was to lessen the visual chaos of 4 players, which is already pretty out of hand as it is. That much hasn't changed at all in Adventure.

It's good for the game if Bounties are just rewarding enough to be worth doing, and no more. If the Bounty reward is too much then killing monsters feels bad in comparison - you're encouraged to do the absolute minimum completion goal of each Bounty and then get out of there as fast as possible to speedrun the next one. Bounties are ultimately just an excuse to get people into new zones doing new things, there's no need for them to be the primary source of all exp and loot.
No one does quests just for the gold/exp rewards, it's the same thing really. It's pointless. And I'm struggling to see who needs 100k gold per bounty if you're smart and have saved up billions of gold already.

You still get a Greater Cache every 5 bounties, and Rift Keys I assume, which might be enough in and of itself. If they see that people are skipping Bounties then they'll buff it until that stops. There's no reason to be so cynical, Blizzard isn't going to let one of its flagship features go unused.

Bounties take a few minutes to do. And I don't think they need an exp incentive at all, the loot reward is enough.

Except the entire point was that they are REMOVING the loot reward by taking away the Horadric Cache drop. That along with the nerf to XP / Gold really removes any incentive. They took only a few minutes because most players who were able to speed them in minutes were using a Crusader with Heavens Fury (broken skill which did insane amounts of damage). Without that skill, the time involved would increase by a large amount. Increase in time to claim the bounty coupled with severely diminished rewards for that time do not exactly equal a selling point for them. If anything it will remove peoples interest in them completely when they get virtually no XP/ Gold or loot bags (besides the one for completing all bounties in a given act). 5 bounties for one bag of loot which MAY contain something good along with a few hundred thousand gold and XP really doesn't seem worth hopping all over the map.

It's good for the game if Bounties are just rewarding enough to be worth doing, and no more. If the Bounty reward is too much then killing monsters feels bad in comparison - you're encouraged to do the absolute minimum completion goal of each Bounty and then get out of there as fast as possible to speedrun the next one. posted a message on Rares in RoS
    Quote from itirnitii

The fact that the legendaries currently have bad bonuses in vanilla is exactly the problem with the current system. If the bonuses are worthwhile then you have to actively choose between a maximized increased in stat boosts from rares (DPS/EHP) or a mild stat increase with some utility (legendaries). It creates an interesting dynamic in choice making that makes all the difference if done properly.

I guess I didn't mean to suggest that equipping an entire set of legendaries should automatically be insufficient. I just meant in a way that it wasn't the obvious mandatory choice for peak output. The utilities shouldn't completely dwarf the desire to equip some rares for stats alongside the legendaries.

I guess my question is, is there really anyone who would prefer to be equipping bland Rares with great stats rather than Legendaries with unique bonuses? Why is that an appealing decision? I don't want to be in a position where I have to think "man that Legendary bonus is so cool... But not cool enough to be worth losing 15% of my DPS." Screw that, I want to be deciding WHICH cool bonus I can have, not whether or not I get one at all.

posted a message on Rares in RoS
    Quote from itirnitii

There needs to be a balance between rares and legendaries. Rares = better maximum stats // legendaries = gameplay changers. If the most effective way to outfit a character is to combine a healthy combination of rares and legendaries that will be perfection.

If the top difficulties made it so that being completely outfitted in legendaries made it so your DPS suffered too drastically, despite having multiple unique legendaries gimmicks, you'd have to supplement some rares for damage and then make a decision about what gimmicks to sacrifice.

They tried to do this in vanilla and it sucked. Granted Legendaries didn't have interesting bonuses either, but generally speaking Legendaries are more fun than Rares and there's nothing really wrong with everybody wearing them in every slot, provided there's a good variety of them. In order for Legendaries to be cool it's necessary that their bonuses be significantly better than an ordinary affix, and that means by definition that Rares are not going to be as good.

Hopefully they can come up with something more interesting for Rares than just simple salvage junk though. Might be cool if enchanting required you to find a Rare with the affix you want or something like that.

posted a message on Legendary Drop Rate
It's clear that this beta is extremely early for public consumption by Blizzard's standards, but I think it was a good decision. Every single thing about the game is changing and needs to be rebalanced, and the fanbase has already proven that they're better at breaking the game systems than Blizzard's private testers will ever be. The fact that D3's endgame was never publicly tested is one of the main reasons things went so wrong. This way not only are streamers publicly lining up all the most abusive strategies for nerfing, they're also demonstrating how new game systems like Bounties/Rifts are being used in practice so Blizzard can make more informed decisions on how to iterate.

Seems weird that they added a whole new currency just for gambling, which is basically the same as crafting but more random. No harm in it though I guess.

Really I don't think any of it matters in the long run. The best thing you can do to prepare for RoS is get every class to level 60 - after that, you're pretty much set.

MF is getting a huge nerf - maybe the legendary droprate for all characters in RoS will be similar to the MF300 legendary droprate in vanilla. But for characters with low MF today, they should see a ton more legendaries.
