Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Bleu42Your crit chance is your crit chance, if it's 50% you'll crit 50% of the time. The proc coefficients determine whether or not that crit will give you anything in terms of skill / passive procs / LoH and LS.
LS does not depend on Coefficients.

I know they 'd have to redesign it to make it work for high mp levels, that's what i meant anyway.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
For example it could be based on damage dealt instead of actual monster kills. Seems fair to me.
As for the CM builds being viable, i guess they should be, seeing the most recent patch note updates. But i 've moved away from the melee wiz phase cause i cant be arsed to have blizzard render my build/gear nearly useless every month just for the kicks of it.
Other than that, just cause other builds are viable for high mp difficulties doesn't archon shouldnt be. Last time i read patch notes, as in like 2-3 other patches before that, blizzard couldn't stop mentioning the phrase "build diversity" as an excuse and scapegoat for every single change pretty much. How is it justified that archon is designed to not work for high mp difficulties ? Oxymoron, don't you find? And lastly, the reason i m going on about archon being made viable for high mps is not just for the sake of build diversity but because players have to buy/design their gear depending on what build they want to focus on, and blizzard DO know that, so they can't look away and do nothing about it.

Pretty much what the title says. As I, many wizards out there would be grateful for a blue post dignifying this with a response; that is, is Blizzard working on a way to change how wizards can cancel archon to jump out of it (other than right clicking the buff), or not ?Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
And while on the matter, is blizzard working on a way to change how Archon extends its duration for MP10/High MPs, or do they want us to avoid the build alltogether when playing MP10/High MPs? If so, coupled w/ all we 've seen regarding the Meteor/Spectral Blades etc nerfs, I 'm starting to think blizzard just literally has something against the class itself lol.

I have to agree that with the ridiculous prices of rares on the AH, anyone can make a 50% cc wizard and very easily get up to 1.80 aps or even 2.0 (Without a Chantodo's Will"). However, Blizz nerfing all LOH/APOC/CM proccing skills is just .. getting old if not anything else. Yes the build was once broken and cheap but it's probably been one of the most expensive ones for the last patch (until we figured out Storm Chaser had a high proc coefficient at least), and these changes will only cause the prices on gear matching the - higher now - requirements for the build, to further rise.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
That being said, meteor did need a nerf since it not only did much more dps than WW and the rest of the "alternatives" (mind the quotation marks) but also had a better coefficient, but the extend to which blizzard is doing it, is a bit exaggerated imho at least.
I also agree that the way they 're trying to break CM builds is lazy and the excuses they 'd given for opposing to them (same goes for WW Barbs) are lame. They should just come out and straight-forwardly state "we think they 're cheap builds that are against the philosophy of the game" - or something along those lines, instead of making it seem like they only nerf coefficients for the proc chances on legendary weapons - as when they 'd nerfed WW in the 1st place.
Now tl;dr, i know, but i admit i too switched to archon for the last 2 weeks and it just is infinitely better even on 1.0.4. Trash are 0.5-1 sec kills and packs might give you a hard time if you 're playing w/o life steal but they do die fast too (the closer you get to 150k + dps) and you can always cancel it out to re-fill life w/ a loh proccing skill - i.e WW/SC/Meteor or w/e), while also reducing its CD.
Don't throw away your gear, imo, switch IAS for CD/Int where possible and get a LS Skorn and go archon, you won't regret it.

1.5% lifesteal isn't enough. the ideal would be a 2H skorn w/ 5-6% life steal + blood magic weap, but they 're also changing a familiar rune to give lifesteal, so the 2 combined could be good substitutes for not having lifesteal on your weap at the cost of some dps loss. but thanks for bringing the fact that blood magic currently does not work for archon cause i 've been using it and was wondering if it isn't working or if it is working and is so nerfed that it's useless. thanks.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

It won't be a nerf. The effective cap of cc resistance in elites will still be 65% as is now. There is no nerf, just a better mechanic. Monsters will not be immune to anything - ever. I find it beneficial, actually, that in 1.0.5 we 'll be able to have a twice as much time as now to land down twisters and prepare our explosive blasts before frost nova wears off. (1.5 sec is the duration of the 1st frost nova on any elite atm - in 1.0.5 the 1st frost nova will last for the full 3 secs w/ diminishing returns up to 1.5 secs as before)Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
So .. yeah, i think you misunderstood the change.
