Apr 30, 2014Willemh posted a message on Starmetal Kukri rerolling dilemmaSo much false information in this post. Pets DO scale with attack speed. A faster weapon is even preferred for pet builds because you summon fettishes faster. Pet damage is calculated like this: [ (weapon damage) x (1 + (Intel / 100)) ] x [ APS ] x [ 1.8 ] Therefore your pets will do exactly 7% more damage with the 7% attack speed affix on your weapon. The added benefit of the attack speed is also that attack speed on your weapon will help you hit a higher breakpoint for your vampire bats. This means you will summon more fettishes. So ontop of your pets dealing 7% more damage, you will also summon more fettishes. As to the 31% crit damage.Assuming you have 45% crit chance and 350% crit damage without the weapon(just a wild guess of something somewhat average for a WD since I cant see your stats, repeat these calculations with your own stats) Without 31% crit damage: 1+ 0.45*3.5= 2.575 With 31% crit damage: 1+0.45*3.81=2.7145 2.7145/2.575=1.054=5.4% more damage So in this example by keeping the 7% attack speed you gain 1.6% more damage from your pets over the crit damage AND you get to spawn more fettishes. A note to the fellow community members, if you're badly informed try not to comment on posts like this, theres a good chance the OP allready rerolled the item and ruined it. Its rather frustrating to ask for help and then be misinformed by the community.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura

Plippington posted a message on Starmetal Kukri rerolling dilemmaAttack speed only benefits pets in that your weapon dps goes up, and that's where their damage comes from, they don't actually gain attack speed. I would personally reroll the attack speed, crit damage is much more useful for pets. You would technically summon less fetishes from the passive, but as your pet gear gets better and better you'll start turning away from attack speed because you'll rely more and more on casting fetish army, which is counter productive to the passive since everytime you cast fetish army it kills your existing fetishes.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
