one strategy ive used is just to make a game when rdy to log, but just alt+tab out and let it idle, you might get booted, but you might come back 12 hours later and check the chat log and see that you have a walk. theres nothing like sitting down to D2 and finding out, hey, im still logged in, and then you start playing and D clone is chillin at the frigid higland, neat little suprise if you dont realise he walked.
I have no good guess where the main story will go, only suspicions. I think some lore would be good, for side quests/story and stuff of the sort. Like demons gone rogue, amassing armies of demon worshiping cultist to rebel, or carry out their own agenda type shit.
I like pvp in D2, but I will not defend it, you cant, it is broken, no one can deny, that is fact. I really cant understand why some are so against this new pvp system they have shown, it really looks badass, how can anyone say diffrent?

Bashiok: Not really. We’re still working on the respec system for Diablo III. For those who haven't seen the Diablo II 1.13 patch the respec system in there, which is still on the PTRs by the way (or maybe not), is you can get three different respecs by completing the Den of Evil quests and then any additional ones beyond that by picking up item drops from bosses and using the horadric cube to combine them. For Diablo III we don't have it really nailed down yet but some of the main points we do want to hit are that it's more than just a gold cost for changing your mind. Although that will be a major component of it. That it's targeted for specific skills so you're not resetting your entire skill tree, but you're able to target specific skills to reset those ones specifically. To also scale the cost of respecing so early on in the game it's cheaper and easier to respec and as you go farther into the game it will be harder and more expensive. And all of those things together make it a very challenging system to implement, hitting all of those notes. And those are all pie in the sky, I guess, hopefuls for the respec system we may not get all of them in. We don't have any specifics on what the actual respec system will have but those are sort of what we're shooting for and of course it's all up in the air still.

saw this on youtube today, been looking for some video of the playabel demo from blizzcon, havnt seen any yet. this is one of the best gameplay vids yet imo, just looks outstanding.
I def. see an advantage to an arena setting, the obvious, if you are there, you want to engage in pvp, and, when joe schmo starts to lose the fight, he cant run into town to save himslef and ruin the fun. or maybe that one guy, who you just know, is popin pots cant pull that shit no more... know what im sayin?
futher more, maybe it fixes one of my problems with diablo 2 pvp: dueling in Hell. The best dueling was done in NM, -resists in hell were fucking ridiculous. Hopefully having an arena setting for pvp can balance out and nutralize such issues.
Oh yea, and lets not forget the dickhole who is almost dead, so he goes and WW's through a pack of quill rats... lame..
Maybe they could have all the butcherd corpses hiss in unition, "FFFFFRREESSHHHHH MMMEEEAAATTTT" when you open the door and they all come after you with meat cleavers, maybe the ones missing leggs could crawl, u know, like when he butcherd people theier corpses became possesd.. too out there maybe?

Im not so much worried about hacks on Bnet, altho i agree it could really ruin the expirence. I wish they could come up with a way to stop people from selling items. Way back when i had that idea where really good items would bind to your account when you picked them up. so like if you had a Barb, but found something really good for a wizard, you could still use it.. ahh fuck it, it was a dumb idea, you get the point tho. its just a game, why do i let shit like that bother me? im rambling now, this is pointless, carry on.
