I've seen people claiming they managed to pull it off with 20k dps. In the end you just need to survive longer then the mobs around you. So with a bit less dps, but more defenses and Life on Hit you can manage without amazing dps numbers. I know I started the whirlwind build with 37k dps, 40k hp, 800 buffed ress all and about 900 life on hit and that is easy going, so you definatly don't need that much.
So as Archonshope said I would go for about 500 res all unbuffed as well. Aim for about 1k Life on Hit and some Life leach and get around 35-40k hp. Get enough crit till it feels you don't run out of frenzie when mobs are around. After that start aiming for more dps. Crit damage is a nice way to get there.
That said I cannot really name a number of dps where you will be able to do act 3, it's a combination of every stat that make you being able to do it or not.

Here a link to the profile.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
If this is your profile, which I think it is then you should try to get more critical hit chance and critical hit damage.

If you like to understand the build more you can check out a youtube video of Kripparrian explaining it.Posted in: Theorycrafting and Analysis
I checked for a forum post explaining it, but I cannot find one that fast, maybe someone else can post it (I am lazy).

Tornadoes damage are calculated against mainhand weapon damage. However the speed of the tornado ticks are based of the active weapon, which is why some people prefer offhands with fast atack speed. Bash and Whirlwind alternate between mainhand and offhand when calculating damage on a hit. Since most damage in this spec comes from the tornadoes (80%+) the offhand damage can be neglected and is used primarly as a stat stick.Posted in: Theorycrafting and Analysis
Hope this clears it up for you.

Hello Veksen,Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
There are plenty of threads already about gearing up a ww barbarian, so a quick scan will give you more info than I will give you in this reply. Basicly you are thinking in the wrong direction of survivability. It is not you hp that is lacking, neither you LoH. However you are very low on resist all. Unbuffed you should aim for at least 500 which is 185 more. With war cry buffed you want to get to the number of 800. Once you have that you will find it all a lot easier.
Good luck, I hope this helps.

Hey Briggsy,Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
There is one big wrong thing about your gear. WW spec is about farting tornadoes and moving fast with sprint around and through packs of mobs. To keep that up you need fury, lots of it. To get a lot of fury you need crit, because a crit will give you fury with the "Into the fray" rune on Battle Rage. You only have 9% crit chance which is too low. My guess is you have trouble due to not being able to keep up Whirlwind, Battle Rage and Sprint all the time. To improve you need more crit chance and lots of it. So replace your gloves, amulet and braces with ones that have crit chance as an additional stat.
I hope this helps you.

Hey there,Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
Your schoulders can get an easy upgrade as well. You can easily aim for 200+ str on schoulders. Your offhand is supposed to be a stat stick. Lower the dps on it but try to get as high Life on Hit, crit damage and at least a socket on it. It will most likely lower the dps on the character section, but in reality it will boost your damage since offhand damage is ignored in your main dps ability (tornado farting). Movement speed adds a lot as well, if you can get enough you will get an additional tornado when you sprint and that adds a lot of damage. Your resist is a bit low, so you should try to get that to 500 ish without buff. You can lower your hp to get more ress all (40k hp is totally fine, even 35k is acceptable with enough ress all and LoH) With your gold pool you might be able to buy 2 pieces of immoral kings. Boots and Belt are really good options, although in your case you might considder helm instead since it lacks crit damage.
Your gear is already in a good shape, don't let the dps in your character screen misslead you though.
Hope these pointers will help you.

Hey there.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
The only big thing I notice is that you are low on Crit chance. This is probably the biggest reason you are rage starved. You should really aim for at least 25% crit chance.

Your problem is that your gear is not balanced on a single thought. You go all the way defensive, but equip a two hand weapon which gimps you all the way. Due to the weapon you have too little mitigation to take hits for a long time. You have only 900 ish life on hit, this would be fine if you have a 1 hander that hits fast, but with a 2 hander you want more, close to 2k I would say (rough estimation).Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
To be honest I would change your gear and spec towards 1 thought if I was you. Either go all the way defensive and stick to 1 hander and shield. Or get more dps gear and get a spec that supports it.

If you have trouble keeping rage up try to use mighty weapons. They give extra rage when you hit and for me that made a big difference. Other then that the gear looks good enough to beat act 1. Get a bit more ress all and you should fly through act 2 as well.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
