You should get a 2+ spirit reg soj preferably with TR crit/SW dam bonus. With that you can switch to more damaging skills either to SW - firestorm or MoC - submission.
A LS skorn would also help you, by using that you can also run in higher mps for keys, DE whatever just for fun.
I'd also keep on crafting gloves, you have nice cc and cd, but the other affixes suck.
At some point gearing away from OWE is desirable as there are plenty of nice passives for TR, but that is EXPENSIVE!

Got my amu after 55 tries: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Metalsvinet-2637/hero/16387300
Got a decent pair of gloves (9.5 cc, 33 cd, 174 vit), but without resist so either need to continue crafting or get some res somewhere else.

Looks like good fun, might give it a try. Have a socketed sledgefist lying around, but never really got to use it. Guess a ruby would be best if you skip the cc.

Edit: You could use the scoundrel with a buriza to help keeping the monsters cool.

There are several possibilities but you need a skorn with life steal. After the new patch bells are really viable, especially with a high damage 2-hander such as skorn. The cookie cutter also works fine if you gear yourself up with loads of attack speed.

Have any of you tried exploding palm with a twohander setup? And at what mp level does it really start to shine?

Agree with the others. Get a new hellfire, zuni boots, better soj (first priority spirit reg), amu with dex. And try MoC - submission instead, you don't need to spam it and it has a huge radius.

Edit: wheuis> I'd like to see your gear, can u post a link?

Switch gem in helmet, that helps a lot with your vit problem. 30k life is minimum, I'd prefer 40k. You should also get higher res, several of you gear pieces have the wrong res for OWE anyways...

Well im not sure this way is better. Yeah you get more xp from the monsters you kill, but you might end up killing slower when not using SW- cyclone/firestorm and/or MoC-submission. Have you tried the different ways and compared xp/hour? Else its really hard to say anything about what is best...

Druin has this really nice guide and has tested a lot of different setups and came to a different conclusion than you:

Yeah skorn is really nice for monk if you make a build that really benefits from it.
yep, need a good atk spd.

NO not if you want to play with tempest rush. Then you should avoid atk speed. And yeah sss is really good at getting rid of elite packs.

I think SW is an exception, as it works with Snapshots. DPS, LoH, LS is all snapshotted from current equipped gear when you cast it.

The question though I always wondered was, when you have 3 stacks of SW, then you hit SW button to keep it up between packs, does it snapshot again or does it keep the old snapshot when it was first cast at 0 stacks?

That question has been answered a lot of times. When you refresh the skill while running it keeps the snapshot.

Okay, I tested every possible combination of LS + non-LS with wep swaps + SW.

If you have LS when you cast SW, SW will have that LS.
If you do not have LS when you cast SW, SW will have no LS.

Your "current" set of gear is irreverent as far as LS is concerned.

This means you really want a LS Skorn :P

Have you tested if SW takes LS bonus from offhand? My guess would be yes, but have never though ls woth be snapshotted in the first place...

posted a message on Would it ever be better to go loh instead of life steal
If your Skorn has 5% ls (100k dps, 40% crit chance) then you'd gain around 4000 life/sec from that. You can get a similar amount of life/sec from LOH with 1070 LOH at 2 attacks/sec when using the cookie cutter skill setup in both cases. That should be possible on one weapon plus a bit on a ring/amu or amu+ring.

Very nice. For that build consider a SW SoJ, maybe even a xeph amulet for spirit regen and dropping attack speed. As you favor magic find a xeph amulet gains quite a bit. If you get enough spirit I see some run deadly reach foresight in place of FoT for the buff, then infinite rush. I prefer blind of wrath to burn elites and buff SW.

wear a hellfire ring, boots have room for 100 more dex, bracers could use dual resist,
A bit offtopic, but how do you search for SW SoJ's? Do you really have to look all through the list of SoJ's from all five classes and different skills?

And nice monk btw, do you really need all that vit?

When upgrading, try building a well balanced monk. what I mean by that is always try to have a 1/10 ratio on crit chance/crit dmg (and to some extent armor/resist). By doing this you'll get the most out of the values on your item. High crit chance/medium crit dmg devalues crit chance and visa versa.

Looking at your gear, you could find an OH with less crit dmg and more base dmg to even out your values. But if you see yourself getting tons more crit (atleast 6%) you can keep the amount of crit dmg you have atm.

If you only focus on paper DPS you are 100% correct, but crit chance has a bit more going for it as that increase the number of cyclones, therefore I'd say you shouldn't worry too much if your cc is more than 1:10 of your cd, the opposite is worse (unless your cc is above 30.)

Edit: Your gear looks pretty ok, I'd also get another OH as already posted with higher dps and either ls or loh. But then its going to be expensive... I'm around the same gear lvl as you and saving for Innas set.
