And seriously fuck anyone who says they should get rid of trading. No trading? Are you crazy? Why not just delete the game at that point. That's what diablo is about.

Yeah! Why even play Diablo 1 or Diablo 2 offline! You can't trade, just don't even bother!

We're not talking about offline single player. There isn't one for D3.

So much misinformation and ignorance. D2jsp is a very established website that has already been thriving after Diablo 3s release. Their traffic will only increase with these changes. Whatever blizzard implements will most likely be lackluster at best, and a lot of people will slowly turn to jsp.

There's also nothing wrong with jsp. If you get scammed, 99% of the time you can blame your own gullibility. I joined jsp in 2006 and after 7 years, I don't just recognize a lot of people, I know their reputation. You can learn who to trust and who not to. And for some, like myself, that kind of trading is as good as it can get. For others, get a mediator. Mediators from jsp are 100% trustworthy. I used one while trading a legit .08 valk helm in D2 for about 20,000 forum gold. At the time that was ~$500 worth. And I've made even bigger trades than that with multiple items using mediators.

What makes jsp great is that the best items in the game get traded there. In D2, you didn't have an actual perfect character unless you were on jsp. And by perfect, I mean your charms in your inventory weren't just the same perfectly rolled stats, there were also the same graphic. You didn't have a perfectly rolled ethereal deaths fathom if you weren't on jsp.

Yes, blizzard will implement something, but it's not going to be very good, and the best gear will be found on jsp. And I'm glad because that kind of trading is very fun to me.

And seriously fuck anyone who says they should get rid of trading. No trading? Are you crazy? Why not just delete the game at that point. That's what diablo is about.

Nice compilation. WW Barb definition is wrong, however.

The spec is based on Whirlwind - "Hurricane" and Sprint - "Run Like the Wind".

That was a fairly lame video to be posting on the front page of the site.

I get that WD is underplayed, and therefore good videos might be hard to come by, but this was by far the worst video I've seen on here. Including the Pokemon battle and the Treasure Goblin play/musical thing.

Maybe I'm stupid, but I cant find a list detailing item affixes like there was in Diablo II. When LoD came out there was a physical guide that had them. And after that was outdated the information was still online.

But I can't find anywhere a list that will tell me things like, what's the maximum life from health globes you can get, or the maximum damage to attackers you can get, or what affixes can and can't be on the same item at the same time, etc.

Are you looking for something like this?

    http://d3inferno.com/affixes/ItemAffixes.html

Was hoping for a chart, but this works too. Thanks. :D

Then don't play a glass cannon build. Sac some damage for life on hit and life per second. It works, and it works well.

Being a "regular wizard trying to do as much damage as possible" doesn't cut it in Act III/IV. If you can't figure it out for yourself, there are plenty of guides on YouTube detailing plenty of viable economic builds.

I understand that. Regardless, the stats are so high that it has to be worth even a decent chunk of change. Most amulets with 220+ str/vita are being sold for five to seven million with only minor other stats. Or were a few days ago when I looked.

Really want opinions on what's its numerical value might be.

posted a message on Idea: Incentives for Group Play
Group play already has more than enough incentive.

    1. You're undergeared. You can dabbled in Act III but you die too much to be effective. Your friend is the same. Lets say you are a DH and your friend is a Monk. You both have the same issues, you have trouble surviving just about every elite pack. So you build up a LoH set for your DH for a million or two gold, and play Act III with your Monk friend. A DH and Monk compliment eachother very well in this set up. The Monk provides 20% more armor and 15% more dodge for the DH, and the DH provides 40% damage reduction for the Monk. Even with a measly 10-12k damage output each, you still beat enrage timers.

You can also cover more ground, spread out and look for the elite packs while ignoring trash this way too. And if you're good, with a Monk there you can bug out blue packs to drop double, triple, or even quadruple the loot. Though that can be very tough to pull off most of the time.

This also works fantastically for low budget Critical Mass Wizards with either a Barb, Monk, or tank DH.

    2. Let's say you're a glass cannon, but can't afford the proper gear to kite effectively, whether its not enough run speed, not enough discipline, or what have you. Doesn't matter, Wizard or DH. Having a Monk in your group who can Cyclone strike like a boss is incredibly OP in so many situations. Imagine stuff running around like mad, you have Cluster Arrow Loaded for Bear, and you say in vent, cyclone, and everything gets sucked to the monk and you unload two or three or four Clusters Arrows on the group (depending on spec). Not a lot of stuff is as satisfying as coordinated teamwork that wipes the enemy out of existence in seconds.

    3. If you NEED incentive to play with your friends, then maybe you need new friends, or maybe you are a bad friend. There is no down side to playing with your friends unless they are holding you back. But I'd still rather play with my friends even if I have to carry some of their weight.

Imo, nothing needs to change in that department. The real issues with the game are bugs, exploits, AH functionality, UI shortcomings, viable build diversity, and to some extent, the way farming and playing this game overall works in the long term. If you're not playing with your friends, or they're not playing with you, its entirely within your capability to fix it yourself, and should not be Blizzards concern, as there is no reason to not play with your friends aside from the same reason you might not want to play with your friends in any other multiplayer game on the market.

    posted a message on 280str, 268vit, 11%life, 36%mf Amulet.
Been looking for offers, or a price check on this amulet for a couple weeks on D2jsp, but no one has replied. Hoping for better luck here.

The closest amulet to mine on the AH was 21million for one with about 2/3 as much str/vit, no %life, and 37 mf. But that obviously doesn't mean mine would be worth that or more.

Any offers or appraisals are welcomed. I put it up on the Ah a couple days ago for 60mil. Away from home til Sunday so I won't know til then if it sold.

posted a message on Banned from D3 forums on bnet
While op made a spam thead, and may or may not have deserved to get temp banned, the CMs over there are still ridiculous nazis.

I had gotten a temp ban for a over heated post, and I deserve it. But then a while later, I had walked into a thread that was comparing aspects of Rift to WoW. There was nothing negative being said about anything. And just for posting in the thread, I got slapped with a permanentban. I had said something along the lines of, "The leveling for Rift was pretty cool, but WoWs end game was better." BAM, perma banned.

And if anyone replies to my post here, I'm sure it will be a self righteous fanboy claiming there's more to the story. But maybe you too will unwittingly break one of their unwritten rules, and then be in the same boat as me.

What's really fucked up is that you're banned from the DIII forums right from the go. Not that I care much anymore, it is a worthless community now. But its annoying not being able to post in tech support when their patches don't work with all systems.

posted a message on Your first SoJ
Diablo II took seven solid years of my gaming life. I didn't get my first SoJ until half way through 1.09. I traded 40 chipped gems for it. And I kept doing that until I had 40 SoJs and traded those for a 1.08 WF. Which were worth more than 40 SoJs at the time. Very shortly after the .08 WF mass dupe happened, that day where you could go into just about any game and get one for free. Then came the really really bugged stuff. Ith Quark, six socket WF and junk. And thus the good ole days were over.

Since 1.10 I have found numerous of my own SoJs and two Windforces, not that they were worth anything by this time, but still worth remembering. Somewhat unrelated but I also found a 30/40/40 ethereal Deaths Fathom on East Ladder, but traded it along with the rest of my Barb-killing Orb Sorc at the end of my DII days, for WoW gold, of all worthless things. /sigh
