posted a message on CHC vs CHD Calculator
Interesting thread! I just don't understand why you are trying to prove that CHC is better than CHD on ring. You can get a lot more CHC than CHD on gear easily(if you use an off-hand). Getting max CHC on helm and bracers is not that hard, while getting max CHD on slots like amulets and gloves is pretty hard. Not to mention how hard it is to get a well rolled WH. In the worst case scenario you will get 8,5% CHC on amulet and 4.5% CHC on other slots. It's harder to get well rolled CHD. The limits for CHD on amulets are 51-100%, on other slots - 26-50%. In a perfect world, where you have max CHD on gear, CHC on ring might be better, but in the real world it's otherwise.

I tested 6% CHC vs 50% CHD on ring with the following 2 rings:

I played around with paragon points to get the exact stats(AS and Dex). And here are the results:

    Stats on other items:

    Helm: 6% CHC

    Bracers: 6% CHC

    Quiver: 10% CHC

Amulet: 9% CHC and 81% CHD

Gloves: 9.5% CHC and 48% CHD

    Belt: 41% CHD

    Emerald on weapon: 130% CHD

I also have a SoJ with 6% CHC. I replaced my dex one with CHC one and here are the results:

I could have used archery and/or bait the trap to get even more CHC. It would prove that CHD on ring is more valuable than CHC but the test I made is enough for me.

It's hard to keep the 1:10 ratio only with stats from gear. It's easier if you use a passive(archery with 2h x-bow) or you dual wield. In this case CHC would be better but having an off-hand with 8.5-10% CHC makes CHD more valuable than CHC on ring. Noone dual wields anymore and there is only one situation left - using a 2 handed weapon(barb, WD, wiz with Furnace or monk with a daebo). In this case you lose up to 10% CHC by not having an off-hand and CHC might be better than CHD.

Edit: There is a pretty nice calculator on http://www.diabloprogress.com/. You can find it in your char's profile. In the bottom of the page you can see how much dps 1% CHC or CHD would give you.

The new M6 bonus, the one that adds damage to your skill damage depending on active sentries, is additive with +skill damage from gear?

In this case probably won't be anymore the best choice to have +%(spender skill), as currently for raekor with +%furious charge.

+%sentries and the other side will be still, even if it will apply to half of total damage (because half damage come from skill you cast, assuming you can fire on enemies)
That's a nice point and it should be tried. Enforcer still buffs sentries and that makes more than half if you use it. Sentry dmg is the way to go on shoulders, chest and quiver imo.

It's unreliable in the new patch because your sentries don't auto fire - only when you do. Frost arrow chills for 1 second, meaning you'll need to fire off a frost arrow every at LEAST once EVERY second in order to maintain a debuff. What happens when you're full on hatred and spam Cluster Arrow? No debuff, because you're not firing frost arrows. That's why it'll be unreliable.
Why do you spam CA? You should rotate EA and CA.

Well, as we will do less damage we are going to do lower level rifts. That combined with the nerf to mob damage + toughness increase from ancient items and/or a gem tells me that we are not going to get 1 shot by jailer and thunderstorm. 15 mil toughness is enough to survive jailer at rank 41(or maybe 42 I tested it long ago and forgot the exact rank) rift on live. That means rank 46 jailer can be survived with 15 mil toughness according to the table in Reddit. I think it won't be that hard to get 15 mil toughness with ancient items.

Ok, let's stop this because we could argue forever. You want my contributions? OK! I think that build will do much better.

    • Entangling Shot: Justice is Served - I picked this because of 2 reasons. It gives 6 hatred per cast and triggers Cull the Weak.
    • Cluster Arrow: Loaded for Bear
    • Vault: Tumble
    • Sentry: Polar Station - As Entangling Shot slows limited number of mobs Polar Station will be really useful
    • Companion
    • Preparation: Punishment
    Passives:

    • Awareness
    • Cull the Weak
    • Custom Engineering
    • Steady Aim
As 5th passive I'd use Archery. I find it superior to Ambush and Single Out because it's up all the time.

    Gems:

    • Enforcer
    • Bane of the Trapped
    • Gogok of Swiftness - This one would help for faster hatred regen and reduce the CD of Punishment, Companion and Sentry.
Stat priority: CHC>CHD>RCR>CDR. CHC is the most important stat here in my opinion because if LFB doesn't crit it doesn't do much damage. It's always good to have high CHC when playing with high cost spenders. We get 50% CHD from Archery with an x-bow and that's another reason for getting more CHC on gear. Gear isn't much customizable in respect of CHD/CHC. The only item that's customizable is RoRG. The ideal ring should have Dex, IAS, CHC and a socket.

Ideal gear setup is a standart M6 setup except the following items:

    • Shoulders: Dex, Vit, RCR and Sentry Damage
    • Weapon: Any 2h x-bow with high damage, dex, 10% damage, RCR and socket
    • Chest: Cindercoat with Dex, Sentry Damage and 3 sockets
    • Bracers: Reaper's Wraps with Dex, Vit, CHC and Fire Damage
As an alternative I'd say Leonine Bow of Hashir with your favourite Bolas rune instead of Entangling Shot and something else instead of Archery because 8% damage isn't worth it. As LFB's damage area is too small, it would be good to pull mobs in one spot(within Polar Station area). That would speed up killing the trash mobs and help getting to the RG faster.

Dude, you can't kill mobs 1 by 1 and having 5 rockets with 900% weapon damage helps a lot.

How come it's irrelevant? If you say that you are exploring somethings it means that you'll get credit for doing it. People are seuing each other for such things (Apple and Samsung) It's just a game, but still...

I have my reasons for not making videos. My free time is limited and I prefer using it otherwise.

I won't ever try optimizing that build because it obviously won't work. Let's say that you get 50% RCR, that means CA will cost 20 hatred. Even if you go for no IAS on gear and 15% on quiver you'd have 1,256 attacks per second. That's 25.3 hatred spent per second. Even if you move a lot to avoid damage you'd have approximately 1 attack per sec (20 hatred spent). I don't see how you are going to get 20 hatred per second regen. Going for hatred regen on quivers means dropping either vitality or skill damage. I wouldn't sacrifice those stats. Even if you get 1.50 hatred regen on quiver you'd have 6.5(7.5 with templar). No matter how much CDR you get you can't make Punishment + Bat Companion give you the missing 13.5(12.5 with templar) hatred per sec. With 50% you'd get 75 hatred per 10 sec (7.5 per sec) from Punishment and 50 per 15 sec(3.33) from Bat. That makes 10.83. It's not even close to 13.5 and getting 50% CDR for 10.83 is just unreasonable because having high RCR and CDR means losing CHC and CHD. You have to kill stuff to get health globes and that makes them an unreliable source in higher ranks.

That said, do you actually think about a build before giving it a try? Something tells me the answer is 'no'.

If you can't accept criticism just stop sharing "useful" information.

Diablo is a farming game and this defeats the purpose of farming. The entire Diablo experience is based around having a legendary drop and hoping that it's an upgrade. With this idea, you would, instead, find an acceptable piece of gear and just upgrade it as much as you can.

What if I have all my items at almost max stats and waiting for "that awesome" upgrade could take ages. I am getting max 1 upgrade per month and that kinda makes me stop playing because I lack the sense of progress. Ancient items will solve that issue until I get ancient items with OK stats on each slot. If they were upgradeable the game would be more replayable.

    Hello guys,

I have an idea in my head for a while and I decided to share it with you. What if all of your items were upgradeable like legendary gems? Before suggesting that on official forums I wanted to hear your oppinion and develop the idea.

So, when you get your gems as high as you can and there is a 1% chance to upgrade it's a little frustrating, right? You can't go to the next rank grift, you can't upgrade gems, it feels like it's the end of the game. What if we could upgrade a stat(str, dex, vit, etc.) on our gear up to it's potential maximum(e.g. 500 for shoulders) and 1 stat point raised item's rank by 1 like a legendary gem. Let's say that I have all gems I need at rank 50 and I can't get them to rank 51 and I also have some shoulders with 475 dex and 460 vit. Upgrading them would mean that at rank 25 they'd have 500 dex and I can start upgrading vit. At rank 50 I'd have 500 dex/485 vit shoulders.

That would make us feel like we are getting some progress even if we do lower level grifts. What do you think? What would you suggest about other stats like CHC; CHD; LoH etc. Should they be upgradeable? What about ancient items? Their stat ranges are bigger and that would make them harder to get a stat maxed.

I doubt that. Rapid Fire is a channeling skill and adding it would mean adding strafe too. I don't see how sentries will go around strafing :D Your curiosity makes me curious. What do you have in mind? :)

Quote from MeatHeadMikhailI'm going to play more with MS, but your numbers don't take single/low target count into account. 3 rockets will not all hit the same target, only 1 of them will, so against an RG it's only 360+600 or 960 vs. 1650 (all 4 grenades CAN hit a single target, but of course that will depend on the RG's hitbox). This is also the case for elites, especially yellows. Not to mention that scaling works better with skills with higher base %weapon damage, so 100% fire damage will benefit CA more than MS, etc.

I'm also exploring a Krider FA/Maelstrom build, which I believe has even more potential.

Just because you saw a single video, don't automatically assume that it's the way to go. Just like the build I'm discussing isn't necessarily the only way to go.
You mean that 100% fire damage doubles CA damage but it doesn't double MS damage? Interesting!

You are exploring something that's already been explored? I "explored" that build on day 1 of PTR simultaneously with other people. The leaderboards were broken and I couldn't see them until I got to rank 8. Then I saw that top 10 players use the same build as me (FA/Maelstrom).

The build you are discussing is not the way to go, it's not even a way to go! You can never spam CA. That's the reason why Punishment got nerfed several times. Even before the last nerf you couldn't spam CA forever.

I feel pretty comfortable on 40+ tbh. They start 1 shooting me at very high levels(not talking about stuff like jailer, thunderstrom, etc. just normal hits from archers and other stuff). I can't tell exactly how high, but lets say 45+. With the changes to the set we won't be able to do as high as the current build of ptr. So if I'm not getting 1 shot I'd stand still and nuke the mobs while pride's fall goes off(after I get hit). Then I'll start running around throwing some generators until I get full hp + shield and rinse and repeat. That might require some extra toughness tho.

P.S. Just got into PTR after a long wait to get a message that it's going down for maintenance -.-

And of course you get 5 sentries out. If you cant then you're on a g rift level too low.

Yes, I was 1 or even 2 levels lower than my potential maximum. It was a rank 50 rift and I had 3 minutes left on the clock. You can check the video here. Placing sentries as far as you can is a good tactic, as their range is bigger than live and they hit the next group when you get to it. You can hardly see that on the video, because of the tileset. In long corridor based tilesets it's pretty useful but those maps lack mobs and it's hard to finish them on time. In other words the density "buff" didn't do much but that's another topic.

You didn't really read his post did you ? He knows that the sentries don't get the 100% dmg. increase (or any dmg. increase from mara for that matter). Yet, his point is that the sentries will still fire the spender, dealing that spenders dmg (+sentry dmg, + skill dmg + cotw etc.). Therefore, every shot we make with a spender will still be supported by a barrage of 5 sentries, dealing a combined 500% of the spenders dmg ( 5*100 duh - each sentry shoots it for 100% of the spenders dmg [that is not 100% more, but will shoot the spender for 100% - I think you misunderstood him there]). Now, as he explained, this will still "only be 50% of the dmg. we deal with each of our shots".

However, those 50% of our dmg. will still be so high that sentries retain a vital part of our set. Where else would you get 50% more raw dmg ?

Also, those saying that sentries are now pointless. Please consider that rockets will only hit a single target. This means that rocket based spenders will not do much against spread out groups of enemies (i.e. no grenades from lfb) if they come soley from us since that will be only around 3 - 5 rockets.
Thanks for saving me some typing time :)

I have tested the gizzard, but not with the helm (can't get into ptr, queue times and all). My assumption is that it would work just fine, since you absorb all damage as long as the shield is up. However, a single hit will most likely burn through the shield at 50+ unless you somehow have ridiculous HP regen. At rank 50 the gem grants you 60k lps. Assume you get another 10k from paragon and another 10k elsewhere (Templar if solo, maybe a roll or 2 on gear). So that's 80k, giving you a 160k shield. A single hit on 50+ will eat through that right away, but that doesn't mean it's bad, since it'll give you a TON of toughness and allow you to regen very quickly once you get out of the line of fire. It'll be great, I just don't see it lasting for an entire hit unless it's a fast tic/low damage dot.
As I said before add the Brooding passive. It gives 9% Life per seconds at 3 stacks. If you have 500k hp, that's 45k lps. With your calculations that makes 125k, a.k.a 250k shield. I'm not sure if it's 60k from gem. I think it's 50k as origianally announced. Even it's 50k we'd have a 105k absorb. The damage is reduced a lot in grifts, so the shield might not go down by lesser hits. I was able to stay alive on higher levels after taking 1 hit(low dmg). The damage absorbed by the shield might not scale with toughness. If it scales that means having some extra all ress/armor will make it stronger. Anyway, I started thinking that toughness will be more valuable than before.

My idea with the Brooding is to stay stationary while doing damage to increase efficiency. Stutter stepping is good for avoiding damage but it results in lowering the dps.

Maybe with new M6 and the greater role generators have on the build, a grenadier spec may be possible.

Link to the build i have in mind: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#gPSkXO!cXbg!bYcYba

Night stalker for mroe hatred regen due to CA costing a lot, single spender build, Vengeance + Wolf, etc etc pretty much a standard fire build apart from the grenades.

EDIT: polar station to trigger cull the weak and bane of the trapped.
I've tried something like that with the current set on PTR. I was able to do 43-44 w/o any problem but with Kridershot cold build(FA, Maelstrom) I did 50 easily, so it's superior to bombs due to rocket damage.

Cluster Bombs is my favourite DH ability and I'd really like to see it work. I haven't tried Vengeance, but if I did I'd use Seethe run for extra CA casts. Back in the begining of RoS I was playing a Cluster Bombs build with Seethe and it was much better than Personal Mortar.

In my opinion the beginner build will use CA: Maelstrom or Shooting Stars or maybe MS: Arsenal, because of the huge rocket damage. In later patch somebody might come up with a better build like EA spam with a 2h xbow with some RCR(cindercoat) and hatred regen, or any other spender.

I want to try a lot of things but I don't have the time. If you guys have time could you please try Wildebeest's Gizzard with the Brooding passive and Pride's Fall and see if shield's absorb maintains the helm's bonus and how good is the absorb in higher levels(50+). Thanks in advance!

You should make a video on how all 3 gems work together. Moratorium, Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard and Esoteric Alteration.
If the queue times on PTR ever get better and I can actually get in, I do plan on testing gizzard + alteration together for sure, though I probably won't be using moratorium. It's a pretty bad gem. It's only 25% and it only has a chance to wipe the damage and it's useless against elites/rift guardians at higher grifts due to how long it takes to kill them.
Could you also try the Brooding Passive with this gem?

Senties will still do 100% of our damage, which means that casting a skill with 1 sentry up will do 300% more damage(100% from sentry cast and from 6p bonus we gain 100% more damage, which means double damage, hence 200%); with 2 sentries 500%(200% from sentries + 300% from 6p bonus), with 3 - 700% and so on. Actually the damage increase will be much more than just 500% with 5 sentries up. Those 5 sentries will do 5*100% = 500% of the skill's damage. So, we'll end up doing 500% increased damage, which means 100% damage(initial cast) + 5 times from 6p bonus = 600% damage plus the damage from sentry casts = 1100%. If my calculations are correct that means a multiplier of 11. If we have 45% CA damage on gear we'll do: (770% + 0.45*770%)*11 = 12281.5% weapon damage per LFB cast, that's without any sentry damage gear.

    Quote from Rehwyn
Quote from yuhanzI'm guessing the tweak to the p6 would entail us to change the sentry damage% to something else for the shoulder/torso/quiver slots...not sure bout the maths tho
Fairly sure that since sentries will still be about half our damage +Sentry % will still be best in those slots. Chest only has defensive options as useful alternatives, shoulders would potentially be resource cost reduction (which has potential, but is hard to say for sure), and +15% sentry is still likely better on quiver than +CA/MS/etc due to how the math works. That might be different for some builds though.

I'd say that sentry damage will still be best stat for chest and shoulders, but spender damage will be better on quiver. With 1 senty up we'll do 200% damage and the sentry will do 100%. That's not about half of our damage, it's 33.33%. With 5 sentries up they will do 45,45% of our damage. If we include bolts/rockets damage from sentries it might get to 50%. I'd stick with spender damage on quiver because I've tried grifts on current PTR build and there is no time to cast 5 sentries in a fight. I could cast all 5 only on boss fights and some elites.

That bow might be cool for parties, but for solo I'd say that Kridershot is still BiS, simply beacuse it makes your sentries cast EA. It's also season only, so if you play NS you can forget about it. For the new set it will certainly be BiS.

Has anyone tested Seething quiver with cold Chakram and 2h Xbow at all? Any results to share?
I've tested that. It's good, but with 2 less sentries you do 80% less dmg (1 senty = 40% dmg from 2 set bonus). That means 3 sentries shoot 120% dmg CA + 100% increase from 6p = 240%. If you use Kridershot + Bombardier's Rucksack it's 400% per sentry for 5 sentries. So in total we have 720% dmg per CA cast for xbow + seeting spines and 2000% for Kridershot + Bombardier's. BUT, it's still an x-bow and if you get a good ancient one I think it will be worth it, given that you don't have a good Kridershot.

Anyway, I think that they will nerf this and sentries won't cast EA if Kridershot is equipped(same for chakram). Or maybe they will make sentries cast generators and nerf the 2p or 6p bonus. Who knows...

P.S. Cold chakram's AoE is awful compared to frost arrow. FA auto targets the mobs after the initial hit, while ckaram just follows a pre-determined path. Physical is better (Chakram + CA: Shooting Stars), because of the bigger area, covered by chakram.

I still think its a neff compared to the current M6 ( and as the main dps in 4 man grif)and now u MOST be in line of site to do damage, so WD are gonna be a most-have...

We all knew that this neff would come, so lets hope we can make a new setup to keep the spot as the DPS in team fights
No, you don't have to be in line of sight to do damage. You must place sentries and the start hitting the air. They still do their job. Believe me it's OP now. Here's a video. You can see me killing stuff without actually hitting them. Bosses are easy now and can be killed w/o a pylon.

    Regarding sentries:

    • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_650_x1 - Your generators, Elemental Arrow, Chakram, Impale, Multishot, and Cluster Arrow deal [{VALUE1}*100]% increased damage for every active Sentry.
    • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_717_x1 - Sentries cast your Hatred spender when you do and deal 100% increased damage.
      • This is the Marauder 6P bonus.
It will be a completely different build. I'm ok with that . But that smoke screen nerf is too much and it's all because of OP's "exploit" with the skill. I really hope this is just for Lingering Fog.

New Nightstalker looks cool, I like it.

It would probably be to lightning ball because it's doing exactly what nether tentacles did in vanilla and they nerfed. But they put that legendary in the game so maybe their design philosophy has changed.
They put Metriculous Bolts in game, so ppl have alternatives while gearing in seasons. I'm pretty sure this item isn't meant to be used with M6. No other item(except TnT) changes Sentry behaviour, why this one should be an exception? For example Buriza doesn't make Sentries pierce.

A stupid question - why don't you use a generator instead of Punishment? :)

I'd like to note that I smell another SS nerf, like 2 years ago(SS + Nether Tentacles build).
The nerfs will come, and they will hit hard :x Sorry about that.

About the channeling: You should note that they provide next to no benefit in most situations, and in this special case probably even set me back (as I got too confident on the second one and died to lag). Obviously, you will need some kind of good rng (Ess of Johan is my lucky charm!), but remember it's the top world rankings we're talking about here^^
Everybody could thank this guy for Smoke Screen nerf when it happens.

At least you could try answering my question. I think it was clear enough what I'm asking. What about the channeling? Who told anything about channeling? Your comment makes no sense. I ask you about a skill, you start showing off with luckyboards.

Well, not taking the defense of the OP (kudos for completing that GR) but this basically shows how once reached high levels gear and build starts to matter progressively less (you get oneshot no matter what, you need to cheese/immune mechanics) and what makes the run doable is getting the right density/mob type composition coupled with high and sustained aoe damage.

The lighting build presented is effective because of this; he got the right GR where the build shines and can make the difference, though any other composition would have made the run not succeed, independently from the build used.

Gratz on completing GR45. Anyway more thanks go to zombie packs than to the actual build.

EDIT: the lag spikes caused by the build alo are a big let down to me. Though it sounds really fun and i'm going to try it if i manage to get everything needed.
People doing rifts with help of conduits - other says 'More thanks to the conduits, do this without pylon!'
Someone does this without pylon - other says 'More thanks to the density, you try this on EMPTY grift'.
Someone will do this on not-so-great-density GRift and Saxtis - other will say 'More thanks to the broken set M6, you try this without it'.
Someone will do this naked, after descending 25 levels due to low density of the mobs - other will say 'More thanks to the paragon level, try this without paragon levels'
Someone will do this naked, after descending 25 levels, with fresh lvl70 - other will say 'More thanks to the game mechanics, try to do this without using the game mechanics'.
Someone will uninstall the game to make others happy, other will say 'Good for you newb, go exploit somhwere else'.

    Jelly will stay jelly.
Do you jelly every person winning the lottery? :D

The whole implementation of the grifts is bullshit. The idea was to have a system for competition. In soccer both teams have 11 players, in ping-pong each player has a racket, in online sports(LoL) both teams have 5 players. In order to win you need strategy and skill. What do we have in Diablo? - lottery. In order to win you need strategy, skill and LUCK. As it is now there is no competition in that - just pure RNG. So, it is perfectly normal, if someone says 'More thanks to the game mechanics, try to do this without using the game mechanics'.

Hello, I'm about to start trying lvl 42. I am hessitating between these 2 weapons:

    What would be your suggestion?

Since 2.84211 BP CA:MS:EA ratio is 14:29:54, meaning the sentries fire EA 55.67% of the time. Isn't it better to have EA damage on boots instead of CA?

I got that amulet last night:

Since BotP's and Zei's damage buffs are not very reliable, I'd like to give this amulet a try. The passive didn't roll good, but if I go for more damage stats on gear would it compensate it? Is removing balistics for Numbing Traps a good idea? Maybe replacing MS: Arsenal with Impale: Overpenetration would do the job? Or will the AoE damage get too low?

Is the damage reduction from Numbing Traps a divider or is additive with armor/all ress/unity or stuff like melee/range damage reduction? I'd also like to know what are the optimal resists. They diminish a lot and sometimes I feel like I have too much all resist. One item could give like 2 to 3% damage reduction. Is it worth going for all res in that case or is it better to have an offensive stat(see boots example below)?

I see that you have movement speed on your boots. I have all resist on mine. Is it worth using boots with MS? It's up to 120 Dex in paragon after all. How is that compared to up to 100 All Res? Currently I am using %Life on shoulders and helm socket. Should I change them to cooldown reduction?(I have shoulders with 7% cdr, 462 dex, 459 vit, 15% sentry dmg).

Lastly, could you take a look on my DH. I usually log out in my T6 setup. In greater rifts I am using the same passives as yours, I change the weapon to that Arcane Barb usually, Slave Bonds with cold dmg, dex, vit, all res and crit chance and I use a unity, instead of that SoJ - it's identical to yours. Any advice would be appreciated. :)

I know that I am asking too much questions, but I have a lot of doubts. I'd like to thank you for your time in advance. :)

Nerf? That would mean that noone will be able to pass the one who is currently first in the leaderboards. That would mean leaderboards reset, and I think it's not something they want to do. If they wanted to nerf DH they would do it in PTR. I don't see the point in nerfing anything as greater rifts get harder and harder and T6 is joke for any class with legendary gems.

You dont want every crusader akkhan and every dh maurauder, fix all the other items being dogshit.
Nerf OP builds, reduce overall difficulty -> problem solved. There is really no need to buff skills, make new items that buff skills etc.

    Hello fellow DHs,

I've found a pretty descent Blackthorne amulet and I'm wondering if the 2 and 3 set bonuses are comparable with an extra passive. Harrington is worthless in greater rifts, so belt slot is open. With RoRG it makes 3 pieces. What do you think?

Here's a pic of the amulet.

Edit: Even if it's not comparable, it could be a placeholder until we get a nice Hellfire.

    Quote from RasAlgethi24
There goes Nitewatcher again. I've done plenty of testing (and so have others), on live Krider is just not optimal. Your sentries do like 90%+ of your damage, nerfing them by using krider just so you can fire elemental arrow yourself is just less damage overall and its not even close.
Again on 2.1 (and PTR) maybe different but on live this is the case.
    +1

On live it is really not optimal. I see sentries firing normal bolts with 3 spenders, and firing EA as often as CA is not efficient at all. Personally I don't like the passive game style some people are playing (having 2 spenders and marked for death with no generator). That's why I am using 2h x-bow with generator and cast some CAs. On PTR with the bug fixed, Kridershot is very powerful, I can spam frost arrow forever and throw some CAs. That's the game style I like and I will stick to Kridershot when 2.1 goes live. Most probably I'll use a cold build, because it looks very strong, even though some people will disagree. Well, yes, fire is fire and it's meant to do most DPS, but with cold you get some CC, you also get 20% dmg from cull the weak, you can also manage to keep steady aim up easier. It's been one of my favorite passives, but keeping it up with fire is very hard. You need either cold or lightning.

With the changes to MS rune(burst fire) there is an opportunity to do massive amounts of AOE, while playing with a PP monk. Of course, you will need to position your sentries correctly, so both MS and FA hit the mobs. There are 2 problems with the positioning - you can place your sentries away from the mobs, so both MS and FA hit most of them, or you can place them so the mobs get slowed by the new rune of sentry(polar station) and get hit by burst fire's secondary effect - 200% dmg per cast. If you can combine these 2 and place your sentries in a way burst fire and FA can hit (almost) all mobs you will be able to do massive AOE dmg. And with the changes to CA(Maelstrom) it can hit enemies that are not inside it's radius.

The rotation of my sentries on PTR is EA-EA-MS-EA-CA-MS-EA-EA-MS-EA-CA-MS and so on. Every 6th cast is CA, every 3rd is MS and the rest are EA. There are no normal bolts and in an ideal situation(good positioning) they would do EA(330%)+EA(330%)+MS(360%+200%)+EA(330%)+CA(550%+450%)+MS(360%+200%) dmg per cycle. That combined with cull the weak and steady aim would do a lot of dmg.

On 2.0 I was lucky enough to get a lvl 60 Kridershot and I was very happy with the new Frost Arrow and I wanted to use it in RoS, but it simply wasn't good enough due to lack of other cold skills. But now, with all these changes I think Kridershot has good odds for becoming BiS for M6. And, again, I wouldn't use it until 2.1.

I just read that we will be able to set monster power from 1 to 10. But there was no info on how much hp and dmg per "level" they will get. After all it's a system that lets you determine how hard you want the game to be. And as your gear gets better you will be able to increase the difficulty. Right now inferno is too easy, I can easily solo elite packs in a 2 player game, in 3 player it gets harder, but it's doable, depending on the pack's affixes. In a 4 player game it is still impossible w/o dying tho.

I invested 25 mill on MF gear, I lost like 15k dps and 10k hp. It was the worst investment ever. RNG is RNG even with MF gear I was getting the same ratio of blue:rare items. I pick up only ilvl 61 and above blues and rares(and legendaries ofc :)). Maybe it's worth having MF before getting NV stacks, but after that it's same in my oppinion. Now I am PL 40 and have 34 MF on gear. That's 154% in total and I am pretty happy with the drop. But, still RNG is RNG. I haven't got anything worth putting in my stash for 2 weeks. :( I got 2 legendaries yesterday, both were crap... A few days ago I got 2x Hellrack and a Manticore in the same run. I sold the Manticore for 5m (it had like 950dps) and salvaged the others. Back then my MF was even lower, so RNG is RNG.

Might be a good build for you. Havin Shadowpower/Vault and Prep gives you some sort of survivabliity. Caltrops for kiting and elemental arrow for ae down either large trash groups or clustered elite packs.

I don't see cluster in this build. How come he can cluster elite packs? In my oppinion caltrops is a waste. Both for discipline and skill slot. It's better to possition yourself with vault instead of slowing them. I don't know how it works with low dps tho, it might be better to kite. I'll give it a try when they finish the maintenance and I'll let you know.

First of all they wont increase mobs' hp by a factor of 8. Players 8 command was in D2 and it will stay there. They are mentioning it just to compare the new system in a way players used to play D2 would understand.
Secondly, there are a lot of ways to get disc/hatred. There is a bat companion, vengeance, runes that give extra hatred and even some runes give disc...
Finally, wait until 1.0.5., see how it goes and then start QQing.

I'd say go for 3k armor and 300 AR. They both reduce dmg taken by 50%, so the final dmg you take is only 25%. With 30-40k life you can survive almost every hit even without gloom. Use gloom every time you are at low hp to get it back to 100%. If you are using vengeance you don't need max disc ot chest and quiver, but it's nice to have on one of them. The most important thing while playing a DH(even other ranged classes, i guess) is being away from mobs. You should always avoid getting close to mobs, even if they can't 1 shot another hit may come after the first one. My playstyle is: 1) Pull mobs with elemental arrow 2) shoot until they are close to me 3) use vault to get away 4) finish them off, if they are ranged I just pop gloom and shoot them to death. You should put cluster arrow on your build and melt down the elite packs. Also, as I mentioned before, Vengeance is a valuable passive, with it I never run out of hatred, well only after I cast 3 clusters on a pack :).

    This is my DH: http://eu.battle.net...2/hero/10401117

With this gear/build I have no problems in act 3. I have too much AR atm as I am using Depth Diggers, which are a place holder until I get inna's legs.

I'd advise you to get a good 2h crossbow and use cluster arrow, bow isn't as cool as crossbow for cluster arrow, because of it's low minimum dmg.

P.S. I forgot to mention that you need to focus only on 2 resists: fire and physical. Other resists are unnecessary as all of the dmg is easily avoidable. Arcane sentry, frost bomb, poison puddle, you can avoid all of these very easy, while avoiding projectiles like arrows and fire balls is a little harder, you shouldn't try to avoid them anyway, it's better to pop gloom and burn down those mobs shooting at you. :)
