posted a message on Botting in S5
    Quote from Xeroslite»

As part of the original d2 community before bots took over botting was a real issue. But this is different. Bots dont really negate anyones experience. You dont just go into games and everyone is a bot. If you play this game alone you wont even see them. Out of sight out of mind. If you play grifts or pub rifts. You wont see them. They dont flood the economy with items. Because there is no d3 economy. Its just single player. I cant blame them for botting in d3 unlike d2. this just doesnt affect any of you bot whiners. If they banned everyone tomorrow what would that change? They might make a few bucks but to actually confirm a botter theyd have to spend time to confirn 100000 people and botters cant achieve high rankings after a certain point. Bots arent equiped with the reaction time and judgment of real players. All this complaining is lost in the wind. You are talking about the 1% of the game that has a paragon level approaching over 1500. Id say that is less than 1%. And as much as you hate botters crying on this forum changes nothing. Crying on the bnet barely gets noticed. Its always been a mystery to players like myself since d2 how they even operate. This game is prime territory for botting. Just think about all those hours you drop each season to grab plvl 800+ then ask yourself who wants to do that every 3 months. Or who has time to find thay one item. So yeah. Unless you have wicked luck rng will always be a crutch and a big breeding ground for botting along with plvls and it affects nobody besides you whiners.

The issue is not bots climbing the ladder and taking high ranks. The issue is players using bots to farm experience and items, so that when a player DOES want to chase high ranks, they have infinite keystones and very high experience over players who did not use bots which gives a distinct advantage.

You don't even need a new account, you can bot 24/7 and not get banned as long as you don't do it on stream. Blizz proved obviously they don't care about botters (or the opinion of the community) despite public outrage.

posted a message on broken promises; what does "consectuive non-critical hits" mean.
    Quote from yurmy»

This got me confused now. Can someone explain the difference between an attack and a hit. CC versus just an attack? I'm thinking of this as critical hit chance being per hit you have X chance to crit versus 5 non crits that are attacks. From what I think I understand is, an attack can hit multiple targets and be considered 1 "hit" with this ring on. Straight CC, say I have 70% CC I aoe an attack to hit 5 targets. On CC would the result be considered an attack like this ring? Or would that proc CHD on possibly 1-3 of the five target pack?

Someone explained that a aoe with this ring counts as one attack? What does a aoe without this ring and heavy CC count as? Individual hits or just one attack that can CHD the whole aoe dmg? At this point lol, I don't even know if this is making sense how I'm asking.

I think I got it. Is hit and attack to be thought as as two different calculations? Lets say I proc "on hit" with something, likewise something else I got procs "per attack". Those are separate processes? A hit is different from an attack?

On ATTACK is essentially 1 button press = 1 Attack for example you cast seismic slam and hit 12 enemies but you still only attacked once. For channeled abilities one attack is calculated every attack cycle (so if you have 3.0 attack speed, you will be "attacking" 3 times per second.

On hit is every time an ability does damage (I think dots are excluded) so for example if you hit 5 enemies with a skill, you have attacked once but hit 5 times. The most famous case for broken promises is Uliana build because the first "hit" of 7-sided-strike usually procs broken promises causing the next 13 hits and explosions to be 100% crit chance. As far as hitting more than 5 enemies at once time you are at the mercy of blizz servers calculations.
On a separate note, most things that proc "on hit" have hidden cooldowns to prevent super fast attackspeed abuse, but broken promises itself does not exhibit this.

    Quote from yurmy»

I mentioned this before and no one answered. I suck at math and from what I understand a 100% of something in d3 doesn't mean it WILL happen. So my question is. If you pumped up your attack speed to 2.00 and had a 50% crit hit chance wouldn't you theoretically crit once per attack? Why would this be better to crit once every five attacks? It seems like unless it gives a 100% of your chd in the process that it just wouldn't stand up against a standard crit build.

You would be critting average once per second, not per attack. Also most percentages for proc rates are based on proc coefficients. If an item has a 100% chance to proc but your skill has a 50% proc coefficient, you actually only have a 50% chance to proc.

As far as broken promises go there is no complicated maths or hidden mechanics. It's literally "land 3 non-crits in a row" = Crit chance boosted to 100% for few seconds.

It means if you have 5 attacks in a row that do not score a crit, your crit chance is then buffed to 100% for 3 seconds

posted a message on So we must play seasons to gain more Stash space?

You could say the same argument no matter what the requirement is. If you need to complete some certain Grift level, people would complain that they are being "forced" to play Grifts. If you make it achievements people would be upset that they are "forced" to do achievements. Season journey - same thing. No matter what the requirements are you can't please everyone and like it or not, non-seasonal players are in the minority.

posted a message on What's the point of Rebirth Feature?
    • The Rebirth feature has been added
      • Rebirth allows you to start a new Season by starting over with one of your existing characters
      • During the Season, the character will behave like a new one but you will maintain the old character records
      • When a Season ends, all your old gear from before the Rebirth will be mailed to you

Is there a benefit to this like character portrait/wings/pet or something? Otherwise what's the point? Why would you want to reset mid season and put yourself behind permanently for the rest of the season?

The benefits of being carried and given all the gear he needs right off the bat. Must be nice to have mindless clan mates who will support a cheating lowlife.

His clanmates are all cheating lowlifes as well so their public images doesn't really matter to them.

So your entire computer is junk?

Have you tried reinstalling windows? Change hard drive? It's extremely unlikely your entire system is rip after a bluescreen most likely it's only 1 component or not even a component at all and just windows needs reinstall/format.

The system will boot and will try to run windows correctly. Then it will get to the loading screen and try to do a system restore, then will fail at the beginning of it. The only two things it does are what I mentioned in the previous sentence. This was after it ran a chkdsk and cleaned up orphaned files. I would love to get access to the log files, but I can't even boot it in safe mode.
The other aspect is that the hardware is 3-5 years old (depending on the component), I can start replacing things 1-by-1, but I could just end up rebuilding the system anyway. I'm going to continue to try to force some changes so it boots, but I would rather just replace the system and slave in the old drives. I want to minimize data loss and also, possibly, upgrade the components to something modern.
It does sound like most likely you have some corrupted windows issues and probably the only way you'll get it back and running is to do a clean install seeings as restore isn't working. Slight possibility that your HD is failed but I think it's more likely the files are just corrupted. Don't think you'll be able to save anything on C drive really unless you want to spend $$$ getting it imaged or install windows on a different hard drive with old c as a backup

What do you guys expect to happen? Blizz been silent for so long. They will not do anything this game is a joke. Either join the bots or quit entirely. I won't complain about a waste of money since I've gotten more than enough hours of gametime for the $80 some dollars I spent or whatever the price was for vanilla/ros but I won't be playing this game anymore until blizz aggressively kills botting and thudding and any other cheating because why bother, you can't compete unless you join them.
