posted a message on Life Steal vs life on hit
Hey everyone. I have been debating this over and over trying o decide if life steal weapons are worth the price. Why is life steal better? If I have a fast attack speed is loh just as good? If so what attack speed would make loh just as good. Again I know a balance is best but the idea of shelling out 300 mil for a life steal echo is have for me. Any suggestions?

One last question. What are your guys end game weapons? Thanks for the help everyone

I have been having trouble finding a page, like a good wiki, that is updated with the new items properties. Everything i seen has only shown before 1.0.4. but since the adjustments i cant find anything that has an updated list. So if anyone can list a few sites that would be great. Thanks

posted a message on I cant decide legendary or rare (monk)
Overall I think rates are better than most legendaries but that seems like it could change with the new patch. As far as your stats, I think the following are good base stats to have to try to solo inferno. Now these can change base on your build but I believe these work for most builds.
DPS: 30k+ (if u have less focus on def stats and skills)
    Life: 45k
    Res: 750
    Armor:6k
    Dex: 1800+

Again these are suggestions. This will make act 1-3 easy and 4 take some more effort.
Best advise is do two things:
    1) research builds
There are a few builds out there now and maybe more after next patch but find one u like and try it out.
    2) watch the auction house for deals
If you keep a close eye on AH u can get some good deals but u have to be patience. Or have tons of gold. Lol. Hope my suggestion. Helps

posted a message on Gold Farming on a Monk
I find a combo of gold farming and mf farming to be funner. I typically switch from gold farming one day to mf farming the next. This way i dont get too bored do the same thing over and over. With gold farming you can see the results faster than mf because most of the stuff you find is crap. The faster you can do the runs the better.

    use this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApVAeMW4XRfcdHlneGhLMVdpYnFYMUM3R0IydmNFRWc#gid=6

u need a google account, copy it and then enter your stats...

u need some starting gold to get somewhere, an option would be to buy gold find on items, to make a gold find set, so buy a new set of gear for like 20k a piece, gonna cost u like 300k with as much goldfind on , other stats are not that important unless also dex and some vit but just dex is good too. And u farm nightmare siegebreaker a couple hours. If u have alot of goldfind and u can make 300k by just clearing siegebreaker on very easy nightmare takes about 7 min and 30k per run. Get running speed shoeds, take the running passive ,like a build for fast farming. Its boring but if do this for some hours or just 1 hour each day, u gonna have like another 1.5 mill for 5 hours.

with 5 million i can make a monk that does 30k dps 500 resist and 30k hp, so about your stats but higher dps just by biuying cheapo items. Actually i could probably build this monk with two million by waiting on the bids to end and get it 4 times cheaper, since some items i could get alot cheaper.

your trying to hard getting high dps weapons, with your money u should be looking at 600 dps weapon with like 250 dex and 40-60 crit damage and socket. instead of buying crappy high dps weapons, u should look for perfect lower dps weapons. Why because for u they gonna do alot more dps. If u can buy two weapons with 250+ dex on it u gain like 300 dex, thats alot of dps..and if they have alot of crit damage also u gonna gain even more dps there..

your 700 dps spear is really crap, a 500 dps weapon with good stats would be alot better!!!

i would focus on gear instead of weapons, gear is cheaper, get more crit chance, u can find a better ring with 4% crit chance for like 300k. Find a helmet with a socket and less resist..

pants and chest is probably the best upgrades u can make, u wanne search for chest with three sockets, dex and your resist and then check prices from low too high and find the best one

same with pants, u wanne check for two sockets, dex and your resist and look from cheap to highpriced.. u dont want too much resist on these u wanne have decent resist but alot of vitaty, pants and chest can have like 140 vit + easy. this will boost your hp alot. And the socket u can fill with dex to gain dps.. u wanne have a decent amount of dex, resist, alot of vitality on these two pieces..

but its hard, since your total gear needs reworking but a good chest and pants is half the work,

its best u save up gold now, try not to die much and research your items and then buy after patch hits.. crit damage is only good when u have alot of crit chance, crit chance increases your sweeping winds cyclone damage. So always get high critchance then worry about crit damage since that will come from your weapons.. try to get amulet with loh and crit chance on it

I agree, try getting a gold find set and try to earn income that way. I do it from time to time as i switch from MF to gold runs so i dont get too bored.

Elites on Act 3 frustrate everyone, including me for about 2 months. My suggestion would be to upgrade your weapons. Your dps is too low to roll through act 3 and abuse Elites. If you are going to dual weild act three i would aim to have at least a DPS of 35k. This makes guys die before they even have a chance to even touch you. This will help you clear out the fodder and focus just on Elites. Once you can do that you will be suprised how fast they can fall. Ya you can still die but you will steamroll most of them. I would look for weapons that have LOH, Socket and Dex 100+. Put an emerald in the socket for more crit and soon your dps will go through the roof. Both of my weapons total cost me about 20 mil but they were worth it to me. Just my suggestions

Here is my profile and i am finally able to roll through act 3. Yes i still die when i get certain nasty mobs but it is not that often.

I don't understand why a monk has to have millions of millions of millions of gold, in his gear, in order to farm for gear lol

Also my problem is being insta-gibbed by things like stack desecrates or arcane sentries, not just general wear and tear

Also, I swear there is some conspiracy going on because when I play my wizard everything is mortars and when I play the monk everything is fire chains and molten

Because if you have a farmer than can do runs twice as fast with out breaking a sweat then you can get more doen and then more items to use or sell or sit in your stash. Why should your farmer just barly get by. Make him hit harder and faster so your return is even greater. Takes time with expensive farmers but worth it too me. Again just one strategy.

posted a message on Legendary information released! plus Bashiok is a Troll <3
I am very excited about his patch and the legendary changes. Yes people are always gonna complain and if you are one go somewhere else. But i like how Blizzard is listening to gamers and trying to adapt the game to our likes. Again not all are going to like it but be happy that they will at least be willing to make changes on our behalf. So thanks Blizz!

I am curious on what changes will be made for classes. I love my monk and wonder what other cool things he may be able to do soon. Just my opinion but it feels like Christmas in August for me. lol

String of ears is a waste of stats. U dont need the melee reduce anymore. Using an amu without crit dmg on it is a waste too in terms of dps. Amu is the only armor where u can get a big chunk of crit dmg others then weapons.

I have been looking for a new belt but haven't really found anything that has caught my eye. Besides ones that cost 10+mil. As for my ammy, I needed stats more than dps boost and one that has both again is too expensive right now. I will have to by my time and keep an eye on the AH for a good deal. I just refuse to pay 10 mil for a minor boost right now.

My humble suggestions would be focus on upgrading your rings and amulet. Like others have said, if you can find an ammy with vit and dex. It will cost you a bit of gold, my guest at least 5 mil if you can find one like yours but with stats. Your rings also could use some upgrading. I aim to try to get each of my rings have 100 LOH, dex, vit and res. Ya its a lot but you get the big bump in the end. Oh one more suggestion would be to upgrade your helmet. I think that is the cheapsest of the things you can upgrade right now. No matter what helm you get make sure its socketed so you can put in an amethest to boost %life. If you can get a helm with a socket, add res all and your stats i would think you would be good to go. Hope it helps.

Oh wow. Your gear looks really nice, and should be more than enough for anything. You have enough life, but armor is low. Switch to enchantress (I'm assuming you run with Scoundrel) for quick increase in armor. Also look for upgrades that would give you more attack speed. You have some LoH, but without a lot more attack speed, that amount might not be enough to carry you.

I do use enchantress for the armor boost and i have her decked out pretty well now. Only cost about 3 mil total but she is living a lot longer now on act 3.

    Quote from ballon

Your armor is low because you don't yield a shield and use string (less base armor, way less agility netting even more armor via passive), but i don't see a problem there. Actually your setup looks really well rounded and you should be capable of beating the game just fine. If you struggle anywhere just replace your current mantra with evasion/hard target or keep a plain loh amulet in your pocket for longer bossfights.

I have been trying to decide if i should get rid of the string of ears and get a better belt with more res, vit, and dex but i am not sure. The LOH ammy is a great idea, thanks!

Yes i know you all have seen many post like this but i was hoping i could get a little imput on my gear. I have been struggling with act 3 until i switch from a board to dual wielding. My def suffers but i can kill things a lot faster and most before it can do much, except of course elites. I am just about done with act 3 and was looking for suggestions on what i could change or add to make my guy better before i move on to act 4. My res are good at 770, i know i need more life and my arrmor is low. Suggestions are welcome and thanks for the help guys and gals.

Drop Guardians Path as it is not needed. Res will save your life more than dodging, but still important in act 3+ inferno, at higher difficulties so go with the res.
