The idea behind it was to have a cheap build that could clear inferno before nerfs by abusing the ranged aspect of the game and thus being able to skip on defensive stats, which are quite expensive.
ye, I finished well except diablo before 1.0.3 thanks to this build. I read about it here I do believe back then.

I ended up playing around with it, making the builds I posted. Did fit me more, tho I guess there exist a lot of different builds that is viable depending on playstyle and gear. Currently trying to find a decent way to make this build somehow as fast for farming as whirl is, as I can feel a nerf is on its way for some reason.
The only viable build for fast farming in act 3 (req some gear) currently is with dual wield and charge as I posted earlier (in my current gear) not been playing so much around with this yet:

I'm skipping ignore pain here because I got enough life back etc, and I'm able to move faster away from white trash etc and just farm packs if needed as I do with whirlwind build.

Edit: Made a video now, took one of the harder runs I had just to show that is it still possible, I tried to avoid using berserker but ended up dying because of it and failed some in general, but here it is:

I'm at 50~ crit, no loh or lifesteal when using my 2h.

I'm using leap instead of Ancient Spear because I find leap way better when it comes to "outskill" a npc lol. Well basically survive, jump into for fury and etc. Ancient Spear could be a pain in the arse now and then if I accidentially did a wrong move, also I can move/jump out of wallers, traps and generally be more on the move.
Ignore pain to simply gain back hp or be immortal for 5 seconds, usually mixed with wotb when needed vs some packs in act 3 and 4 if they got insane affixes.
Using ricochet because I couldn't live without it, it was just SO much better then pure damage.
Mind you I am using a 2h, so I hit slow but hard. And then I need more aoe usually, and it is basically 300% vs 130% when fighting elites.
Also been using this build when I'm using my loh & lifesteal dual wield weps.
(800~ loh, 2%~ life steal)

The video is "kinda old" I'm better geared now, but ye I was able to clear it all w/o problems or well some pre 1.0.3 and after with that gear on the vid if I'm not mistaken.
