Syronicus, the version with the expansion was released for the PS3 and 360 at the same time as the PS4 and One. Spiff, I'm not sure about the 360, but the PS3 version has one big advantage over the PS4-- you can play online coop for free. The PS4 version requires Playstation Now @ 6+ dollars a month.

posted a message on Your opinion about removing the crafting materials
Now that the "community" can no longer whine about how hard it is to get the mats for their desired BIS, I'm afraid they will now have a pity party about how they can't get perfect rolls when crafting. Then Blizzard will again simplify the endgame and either 1)make all crafted items have perfect rolls or 2) allow the community to simply buy BIS items from a vendor. Because everyone simply HAS to have the perfectly geared char NOW in order to enjoy the endgame.

What if you got 5 or 6 random stats? So you get the cool legendary effect of elite spawns at shrines and you don't feel too bad replacing your rare bracers that give you main stat, vit, crit and skill % damage increase." I too had more powerful bracers on my Barb and Crusader when I found Nemesis. So I carry them around. When I find a shrine, I swap the Nemesis on, touch the shrine, and then swap the Nemesis out. Simple workaround.

Before doing so, be sure to Reset Quests; then you'll get a guaranteed legendary for killing Diablo as long as you do all quests.

    Quote from Zero(pS)

There's a couple theory threads around, but to be fair nobody but Blizzard knows...

I've played a few hours of the new patch already, dropped 1 Legendary on my MF DH, so as far as I'm concerned it's pretty much the same. Legendary items on the AH also haven't dropped a lot as well (but then again, it's only been 1 day).

Btw "wait for it" reminds me of Witch Doctor, Shadow Demon and Zeus' quotes from Dota 2 :D

They keep saying "random is random", but I've been surprised. Prior to the new patch, I haven't had a single legendary drop (Acts 1 and 2) during more than 150 hours of playtime. I played the new patch last night for the first time and in less than 4 hours, I had 2 drop (Monster Power 1, Act 1). One (a two-handed staff) dropped from a normal mob in one of the Defiled Crypts; the other (a badass shield) dropped from an elite in Cathedral Level 2.

Dave called it like it is and has customer feedback to back it up. Jay couldn't be a man about it and instead acted like a 13 year old. You don't ever think anyone is awesome and a loser at the same time. If he just said "fuck that" then I'd understand but he made a personal remark about Dave with his "loser" addition and for that he's not getting a pass.

Should we dredge up people from this community's online comments and judge them the same way?

Because THAT would be far, FAR worse, don't ya think?

The community IS actually full of children (but not all, and you can certainly find plenty of adult comments that are respectful despite the generalization). Children are the largest demographic of gamers so, duh, most of them are going to be childish. Jay Wilson is obviously not a child but certainly acted like one. His facebook is going to be one of the very few ways to get a candid view of him and this is how he reveals himself when not behind PR like this letter. You don't get to be in a position of power like this where your position is owed to your customers when you can't handle yourself appropriately. There are plenty of Game Directors who don't have evidence of acting like this.

Sure he's allowed to say "fuck you" to someone. But if he's going to be dumb enough to say it to the creator of the franchise that gave him his fucking job, you better actually back your shit up (like Dave did). He didn't. Just a flippant statement like any kid would. Your job as a leader (and a Director is a leader of multiple leaders) is to set an example. When I get paid to do what he does and control huge franchises like that, you be sure to put me in my place if you catch me doing shit like that.

    M rated game.

Average age every time a community poll comes up is 27-ish. (24-30 average demograph)

They aint children bud. They are sad, painfully obsessed, socially aberrant, keyboard warriors.

    Case in point;

Lets take average Diablo 3 forum troll #45687 as an example.

Lets grab a weeks worth his of comments from the site.

Then show them publicly, to their family, their co workers, etc.

What do you think the reaction would be?

Yeah man, so Jay got pissed at his team getting slammed, thats NOTHING compared to the back and forth mudslinging several "un-named" companies practice on a weekly basis.

Its just something for the meme obsessed community to rant and rave about for weeks on end, they desperately cling to anything new to attempt (and fail) to spawn some form of wit.

I have literally lost respect for gamers as a whole due to the sheer quantity of morons that heaves and pupates under the thick and dank blanket of the inter-webs.

But hey, maybe its just me, amirite?

No, Audio, it's not just you. You post summed up my feelings on this controversy exactly. I get "Sikk" and tired of reading darkhorz's ass anonymous and vitriolic spewage toward a person apologizing for a comment far less obnoxious than their own. They may be chronologically adult, but they give no indication that that they have mentally left adolescence.

    Quote from Dorlok

your system is flawed because glasscannon DHs/wizzards don't care about how many dmg affixes an enemy got.. the more the easier it gets :) no dmg reflect/invulnerable minions/shielding? EASY!
also it wouldn't really work in coop-games

The more affixes they have, the greater the likelihood that you get to face a pack with multiple affixes that, in combination, are more dangerous than the sum of their parts. Like, in your case, Reflects Damage AND Invulnerable Minions or Reflects Damage AND Shielding. I'm not saying to make fights easier (there's nothing wrong with tough fights); I'm suggesting increasing the chances of more and better affixes on drops. Notice I said "increasing the chances of"; my suggestion does this, but the percentage chance would still be small (just not as small).

Why wouldn't it work in coop? MF and GF work now in coop; my suggestion would just temporarily increase them.

I don't need any more guaranteed drops and such. The issue is that there is a very very finite selection of potentially rewarding gear. There are no charms, runes, socketed whites (not that they would have a use now that RW's are dead), jewels, torches, etherals etc....there really isn't much of anything other than a 2 iLvL range of rares to hope to drop.

You may have misunderstood me. I'm not looking for more guaranteed drops; I'm looking for an increase in quality. Buffing MF will increase the chance of (not guarantee a) higher iLvl, higher number of affixes, and higher range of affixes.

posted a message on Suggestion for Improving Drop Quality
Here is a suggestion I made on the Official Forums http://us.battle.net...opic/6079793260 :

I love this game. My only disappointment is the miniscule chance of a truly useful item dropping from elite packs and bosses. My suggestion is to increase this chance by scaling it to the difficulty of the elite pack.

Background: Elite affixes are categorized [see “3)” in this blue post: http://eu.battle.net...224392?page=1#0 ]. There are no limits to the number of Aggressive affixes. This results in some really, really difficult elite packs. Players have two choices when facing these packs: 1) Fight them, risking dying more than once thus making the fight a losing proposition because the cost to repair usually exceeds the value of drops; or 2) Avoid them.

Suggestion: Give the heroes a MF/GF buff based on the affixes of the elite pack.

    Implementation:
    1. Immediately upon dispatching the last elite, and BEFORE the items and gold drop, give each hero a MF/GF buff.
    2. The buff would be calculated by the number of affixes and the number of Aggressive affixes. For example, each affix could give, say, 20% MF/GF, with a geometric bonus of 20% for each Aggressive affix over one. So a pack with 1 Defensive and 3 Aggressive would give a 140% MF/GF buff (80% for 4 affixes, a 20% bonus for the 2nd Aggressive affix, and a 40% bonus for the 3rd Aggressive affix). Of course, the percentage I suggest is not written in stone; it could be higher or lower; it could also be adjusted by patch for “balance” issues.
    3. The buff would last until the next elite pack is engaged. Upon their defeat, a new buff will then be in place.

Implications: It improves the risk/reward ratio. It rewards heroes for fighting particularly difficult packs. It entices heroes to fight all elite packs. It rewards players for fighting “trash” mobs between elite packs. It increases the chance of something useful dropping.

    Comments? Suggestions? Criticism?

    Quote from Peachie

Galv ward was something I was really interested in. I mean, not having to refresh armor every two minutes is pretty great and all, but I heard one of the best ways to survive as a wizard - especially with illusionist/fracture - is to have an HP regen of like 700-1000 HP per second. That way it only takes you maybe 5 or 6 seconds before you can take another clear hit, and kiting with wizards is relatively easy for such a short burst in time.

    ~Peachie

I never specifically looked for Life Regeneration, but have often found enough of it on pieces that had the affixes I was targeting. I'm currently working on increasing my Life on Hit.
