I only care about 2 numbers:Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
1: Unbuffed (idle) character sheet dps, so I can compare online profiles/armory
2: Actual, REAL sustained dps. Pick a straight fight boss (Azmo/Ghom) hp/time taken = real dps.
boss HP charts here (still accurate): http://www.diablofans.com/topic/72154-patch-105-inferno-mp-0-10-hit-points-chart-wip/

There is a known tooltip bug, it was mentioned in one of the dev. blogs or blue posts, cant remember which.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I have used this "feature" to find some bargains on the AH.
if an item has:
+ xx-yy damage
AND +xx min or max damage
then only the +xx-yy damage is displayed in the tooltip.
The only way to find the values of these "missing" rolls is by the AH "average damage" search.
The AH "average damage" function will display the true bonus damage.
Pity Hellfire rings cant be listed so you can see this.
For example, I used this to find a bargain +dmg/cc Natalya's Reflection.
Tooltip said only "+9-18 damage".
The AH "average damage" for this should be 13-14, but this one showed 42. (there were a bunch of 9-18s showing "14")
Therefore it had a hidden +28minimum damage, so I snapped it up for a fraction if its real value.

Lifesteal makes a huge difference, combined with a tactical change.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
Im have 110k dps, 2.9% lifesteal, cookie cutter.
When I get a reflect group, I run past them & grab a bunch more mobs into the fight.
Once I have a nice big crowd (or 2nd elite pack),
I go back & concentrate on the reflect-ers, lifesteal from aoe on the adds usually easily outheals the damage.
If health gets a bit low, I turn & beat on the adds for a few secs to regain health

I used it myself pre-1.05, at the time it addressed issues Blizzard had acknowledged & planned to fix.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I magined they at least "turned a blind eye" to it for those reasons.
Now patch 1.05 is live, most of these issues are dramatically improved, so I don't see much "moral" justification for using it anymore.
I would be very wary of using it again post-1.05, I don't think Blizz's tolerance of this program will continue.

I imagine fear in itself isn't the problem, dps/LoH loss shouldn't be too big.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
It becomes a problem on molten mobs though.
Even pre-1.05, I never even considered EF as an option.
I just thought "Fear.... molten..... erm, no thanks!"
On low MP you probably wouldnt see any problem, but as you go up MP levels it would be a real problem..

Gems, gems, gems.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
They are reusable, so the faster you get to max-level gems the longer they have to pay you back.
Weapon & helm gems pay for themselves quicker, so I prioritise these 1st.
You'll do it eventually anyway, & it only "hurts" once, so the sooner the better = longer benefits for the expense.
I also scrapped my +exp gem, switched to +life% & moved up 1MP instead.

Yep, agreed with all.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
Sweeping winds drop-off is too quick, thunderclap AND 24% or more movement speed are effectively mandatory for reasonable uptime.
