posted a message on THUD got hacked?!

D3 always had his ups and downs. Lots of people stoped playing for what ever reason(s) and others picked it up (again). The end of THUD is most likely not the end of D3. How ever i guess that some/many/a lot of those who play D3 more serious might quit. Still we have to keep in mind that Blizzard never realy cared much about the 1% on top of the foodchain. They always cared about those who play more casual. Most of the recent changes aimed towards these players which is totaly fine imo. They learned their lesson back in D3V when Inferno was clearly over the top. The majority of their Playerbase dont play for several hours each and every day. And those people usualy dont feel the need to use either THUD or a Bot. They just enjoy slaying Monster every now and then.

So imo both sides of the fence are right: Yes D3 will lose part of the competive scene. Yet the playerbase is not shrinking in such a drastic way. ;)

I agree, obvious thud user, dump this clown bagstone.
1st off you would need to talk to ZeroPS or Molster. 2nd stop talking disrespectful about one of the Mods. Everyone incl. the Mods is entitled to post THEIR PERSONAL opinion on what ever topic they want to. Nachten never spoke for DFans nor the Mod Team or what ever. If you dont like his stance on the matter feel free to argue in a civil way. But stop being disrespectful to some1 clearly did a lot for this Site and the Users.

It will be interesting to see how the LB competitions progress now till the end of the season :).

Or if the players find a new "pizza" ;) .

    Well,
in my opinion if nobody re-develops something like Thud or if Killerjohn doesn't come back, this will result in a dead game.

how and why are you a mod on this website?
Because everyone is entitled to have his own opinion? This side never forced his Members to share the same opinion on what ever topic.

Yeah... Player base estimates around 500 000 players worldwide. 0.1% of them might use Thud. Those 0.1% cannot be what keeps this game alive.

THUD had more then 50k unique DLs per Release(at least those in the past 6 Months). ;) That doesnt incl. all the shares within Clans, Communities, 3rd Party "Fansites" and what ever. THUD was way more common then a lot people would guess.

I do understand that some people tend to hate the Program while others loved it. I would assume that more then 50% of the Users just run it for doing their daily routine like Bounties and crap. For these things it was a major QOL improvement. If KJ kept it disabled in GRs(GR25+ at that point in time imo) im kinda sure the hate from Part of the community wouldnt be that big. How ever he was threatened that HUD would be hacked and Reverse Eng when he refuse to restore the whole functions back then. Risking that a popular Tool being hacked, may infected with Virus/Maleware and spread within the Community wasnt an option and so the whole GR Support was re-enabled...

Since most of the THUD Team incl. KJ himself stopped playing D3 Years/Months ago im not sure if he cleans up the mess ones more and give it a go. Thats a sidenote most people dont know about: KJ kept HUD alive and working even without playing the Game himself anymore. He spend a lot of his spare time patching/fixing HUD. Its not a secret hes a freelancer and having a family and kids. He wasted his time so others could still enjoy D3 their way.

So yes its easy to scream: JUSTICE! Finaly they got him and his dirty cheater Program!

There is also the other side of the fence. A father who invested thousands of hours into his tool. Had countless nights with little or no sleep. And keep in mind he NEVER asked people directly for donations and shit. There was only a little button on the bottom of each Release Thread on the Forums to his paypal and most Users even missed it and keep asking how to support and donate. :D

posted a message on [Debate] Cheating in D3? What is cheating and what is not?

Twitch Drama gets spread to DFans? Whats all this nonsense? Drahque you admitted more then once on these forums that you used HUD yourself. You even tried to defend why you´ve been using it. And now you create a Thread to bash others for using HUD? If you have some beef with ZE in generell or people from that Clan keep it in Whispers or Twitch Chat.

If the Threads continues to be a "flamefest" and X bashes Y and vise verse, then this will be locked pretty soon. DFans is not the playground for your private "wars".

posted a message on Open Letter against Botting

I was thinking about if i should comment on the topic or not...So here are my 2cents...

Botting is part of D3 since the release. It just changed for what people botting. In vanilla Gold-Bots where super popular since you could make money off of it. Even before the RMAH was "released" peopled botted for Gold and sold it on the "black market". With the release of RMAH people used Scripts/Bots for Buying/Selling stuff on AH/RMAH -> making Money out of D3. At the release of RoS botting went down by a huge percentage because there was no advantage in botting anymore. This changed again with the release of Seasons and Ladder. Botting got quite powerfull again. Farming Bounties for Riftkeys(in order to do an absurd amount of Trials) or these days farming Tx Rifts for Keys and Bounties(for Mats to reroll Stuff in the Cube). Not to forget kinda unlimted supply for doing Ubers and getting HF Amulets.

So now why is botting so "rewarding"?

You can spend all your "Online Time" doing Speed Greaters in order to max. your Exp(Paragon Grind). You can Cube your Items almost unlimted since you got all the Mats you need by botting. Also being able to craft an absurd amount of HF Amulets. These things combined leads to an insane Powercreep.

Now people like to mix in THUD into the "botting issue". Yes HUD provides an advantage. Being able to spot pylons ahead, having Elite Affixes availible before you engage them and the map reveale are a "big bonus". BUT the powercreep compared to "botting" is far less then people expect. HUD doesnt turn "average players" into Rank1 capable ones. You are able to make better dicisions when using HUD, which was way more impactfull in the past. In the current Group Meta(havin a Healmonk who counters all the Elite Affixes anyway) HUD isnt that big of a deal anymore.

Im not saying using HUD doesnt violate the ToS. Im not saying HUD shouldnt be adressed as well in one way or another. BUT Blizzard needs to adress botting soon.

posted a message on Bring us back the old good days.

To some extend Vanilla D3 was fun but for the majority is was horseshit. Farming Items to sell them on AH in order to buy Upgrades you couldnt find yourself, even after hundreds of hours gametime. Legendaries who rolled even worse then a 5 Stat Yellow...People who couldnt progress past Act1 Inferno since Act2 was just a Brickwall for them.. Stupid 5min Enrage Timers for Elites. Me and a Buddy had to lend Gold from Friends just to be able to progress further in Act3/4 Inferno back then. Yes it was pretty exciting to beat Diablo pre Patch. Its still one of the best experience i had in D3 so far but yeah. D3V is gone for good and shouldnt return by any means. ;)

posted a message on Blizz acknowledges blood shard exploit, abusers most probably getting a ban

I doubt it'll be significant since the sheer number of people doing this is now probably quite high (thousands likely) and will also most likely require a 'real person' audit.

In general though, if it smells like an exploit, don't do it. Pretty simple, really.

No you dont need a real person audit.

Use a database script which matches the amount of rifts done vs. the toal amount of bloodshards devided by 250(max shards per rift) and add x % for completing bounties. People who exceed this by y % most have used the exploit otherwise they couldnt get x bloodshards in total during the current era.

posted a message on NewDawn [non-season, SC, EU]

Just to make it clear: We are not looking for any kind of season players. ND is a non season clan. ;) With all the changes in 2.2 we accept applications from all different classes who meet our requirements.
